Not what it used to be. Washed out. Ratchet!!! Ghetto, trashy crowd. Stay away! Unless of course that’s what you like.

The times I’ve been here were for events done by promoters, and I love it here. There are two problems which cost it stars though. Parking and the cost of alcohol. Hudson has a lot adjacent to the venue, but all other parking is on the street. You basically have to arrive in the daylight to procure those spaces.(walk around rice village maybe?) Although the demand for valet is understandably high, the $ 20 charged for it is robbery. I actually prefer to valet when I can, and I can say the inflated prices are merely the result of greed. Also, the price of(well) drinks is absurd. If the establishment lowered the price of it’s drinks and paid attention to the amount of waste produced by the bartenders(former bartender– more spilled than served), the efficiency of the bar could be drastically improved. The bartenders were great, they just spilled a lot. Overall, I love the décor and the feel of the venue. I would return but for the hemorrhage of my $$ for things which could be improved upon.

The dj in the front is good. The guy in the back room not so great. Super packed place police in the women’s bathroom with this drunk girl not enough room to dance in the front room. What is capacity or is there no one checking? It looks cute tho..

This club should change its name to Club 20 It was $ 20 for valet(which is almost mandatory because any street within four blocks of it has«No Parking» signs in each direction. It cost $ 20 to enter after 11:30 and they made sure to hold the line up just to ensure that customers had to pay to get in. Seriously the line was past valet but as soon as it hit 11:30 the line disappeared! They added an automatic 20% tip to your drinks order even if you chose not to keep the tab open! The place was packed so all you could do was stand there and breathe the heat from the person next to you. Walking from one side of the club outside and to the other side of the club was a disaster. Bottom line if you don’t have a section here, please go somewhere else unless you enjoy being over charged to stand in the same position while listening to music and getting your $ 12 drink bumped out your hand… twice. I would have normally driven right past this place once I saw the line and lack of parking but my coworker was celebrating her birthday there. Positive Comment-the bartender was very nice despite the large crowd.

Great music. Drinks are pricey, but the men who come here buy drinks and host. Well dressed crowd. It’s grown and sexy & a great crowd. There’s a blend of American men and foreigners. I’ve been twice loved it both times.

If your looking for style and elegance then look no further then the Hudson lounge. It’s upscale look is very inviting as well as the décor. If you are looking for a nice night on the town in upper Kirby this is the spot Saturday nights. The drawbacks is being cash because the charge 20 at the door most Saturday’s. And if your using a card there is a automatic 20% gratuity charge at the bar. Parking is very scarce.

Nice place to party for the manager is RUDE!!!, she was mean and nasty towards my friends. She kicked us out the club because she we asked her where’s our drinks that we already paid for? Unprofessional and if we are paying to have a good time then you treat us with the upmost respect! Apart from the staffs, Hudson lounge is an ok spot to chill and socilaize

Nice lounge/club. Like 3 clubs in one. Good music. Some dancing throughout. No food. Tequila shots are $ 11 no matter the brand. It’s somewhat diverse. Free before 11pm as long as you RSVP online. DRINKSARERIDICULOUSLYEXPENSIVE! There are three sections and most seating areas are reserved but feel free to sit in reserved areas until they show up which they often don’t. A «Tulani on the Rocks» was $ 23 which is two parts Hypnotiq and one part silver Cuevo in a little 6 oz cup… Smh. I found some of the bartenders conveniently charged different prices so watch them! They have valet parking and the price is not consistent so I park on the streets and nothing ever happened to my Batmobile.

I went last night with co-workers and was met at the door with«sorry folks(aka you black people) there is a private party tonight». As we walked away a guy told us to go back and say we were with Stuart. We did and we got in!?! The place is ultra swanky. Music was good. They have 3 party areas. This place seems like it’s a lot of fun but we didn’t stay long because our vibe was ruined at the door. If they don’t want«us» there we don’t want to be there! So it gets a 1 star rating for their racist behavior! Smh that we still encounter racism on this level in 2013 with a 2-time elected Black President!

Visiting from LA, I went to Hudson for my friend’s bday party. If felt good to be in a place where people dance LOL. in LA clubs are pretty wack because no one dances. It was even cooler to see a club full of African Americans be so receptive of a Nigerian song that the dj played«NWABABY by Flavour»… next time im in houston, Id love to return

It was ok. Nice cool crowd. Nothing crazy or no foolishness. Upscale nice environment but in our section, the seats were already wet before we got there and it didn’t look clean. The back dance room was hot as all of the hells. It wasn’t bad. The drinks were extremly high and they took out gratuity. I had fun but it’s not one of those places I’m just running back to.

20 $ to valet, another $ 20 for entry. And at the end of the night I discovered that valet had lost my car key. If you go here on a Saturday night, DONOTPAYTOHAVEYOURCARPARKEDBYVALET.

Where do I begin??? So I’m out on a Friday night to catch up with a few friends of mine, and supposedly it’s ‘Latin Night’ — well, I’m not Latin, but I figured whatever I’ll go out and have a few drinks and catch up with my buddy who was bartending. Get to the door, no line(I’m the ONLY person) and some guy named Oscar says«give me one second» turns his back to me and stands there. Mind you, I’ve lived in NYC for years, plus spent serious time in some of the hottest cities in the world ie London, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Rio etc and I’ve never had a problem at a door. But this is Houston, one of the worst cities I’ve ever had the displeasure to live in, and I could give 2 craps about what Forbes says. Why is this bar so uppity again? I can wait… After about 5 min of oscar ignoring me, my buddy comes out and brings me in no problem. So then he has the nerve to turn and say how he didn’t know that I knew anyone inside and I should say something next time. But it’s no problem, if I ever see your mug in my ER, I guarantee you’ll wait until I put bandaids on every boo boo before I consider pulling your chart and looking at how it burns when you pee. Kick rocks with flip flops. Other than that, ok place, decent music. Girls were a crap shoot, and a lot of the slicked back hair types.

First things first. I opted to come here because I received my usual email from that stated they were serving creole cusine. had hookahs and was«upscale»… (UPSCALEISSUBJECTIVE… and one of my preferences for nightlife) …call me what you want. lol ! INTEEHOO(anywho …lol) When we got there… we were told they were not serving food(ugh)…second place that was SUPPOSED to be serving food but wasn’t… so, we had to trek around the city to find a close spot to eat and THEEEEEN come back to the lounge. UGH, Ok … cool, Door man said no matter what time we returned he would let us in without charge. since we originally got there early.(COOL ! !) So we leave and find a nice spot to eat(see my review for El Meson). We get back to Hudson Lounge… and it is quite full. Door man honors his word and lets us through(cool). Ok, so we come through the line and there is an outside seating area… (nice.comfy chairs and couches) Walk past that to the inside: Get inside… and we’re all happy. The ambiance was nice… not what I pictured from the website… BUT… nice all the same ! WHITE…(love it) Dark(YEP. all good) Draped white panels and sheers(ummm hmmm… LoL) Mirrors(check…and mate)(I’m vain like that… so !) First room has the main bar, Dj booth and restrooms. Standing room to dance. Keep walking. you have the open patio. with couch areas and tables to sit and actually«LOUNGE». and also smoke hookahs(which is what we came to do) Past the patio is another room with a bar and dj. and open dance floor. It was nice… slightly tight and got hot after a dance or two… but STILL… it was all good. The women were dressed how we dress… LOLOL and the men were all different. some dressed casual, some dress up and some dressed down. But overall… the atmosphere was really nice. The drinks were stiff…(hell, I’m still a bit hungover as I write this review. lol) The music was good… and made you want to dance…(of course we did. lol) The hookah was good. we got the strawberry flavor.(hmm, tasty… lol) it was like $ 25.00…but there was four of us and we puffed on it the whole night.sooo. I enjoyed this lil’ spot and will return because it has all the elements I like. Swanky, Sexy people, good drinks, music and HOOKAH ! ! I was looking for a real lounge and hookahs without being a café and«kid» friendly(ugh). SO, YEAH… Hudson Lounge did me right ! !

Went for the Havana Nights charity event last Saturday. Friend of ours got a table and bottle service in the open air patio part. Server to our table was quick with refilling mixers and service in general was very good. One of the better club experiences I’ve had in Houston although I’m not generally much of a clubbin guy. The place was smaller than I was expecting and Houston air made it a steamy night so thank God we were dressed for the Cuban theme. They could use some misters/fans in the open air parts because, well, it’s Houston. Walls are white, floors white, bar’s white, etc. reminded me of Miami a bit. Lots of thumping club music and lights. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to club it up, but if I found myself back here for something I’d have a good time.

Got bottle service here on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday. Small but chic place. Mixed crowd of late 20’s — mid 40’s. It was kind of dead for a Saturday night. Music was alright, most of the songs are pretty mellow for a dance club. If it wasn’t for my group of friends, I think the night wouldn’ve been pretty lame.

There are things that I like about Hudson and things that I just don’t understand. At first glance it looks like someone’s house(maybe it started out as a house and they changed their mind). When you go in, with the contemporary design(rectangular), it looks like Tony Montana’s pool-house so not too shabby and I kind of like it. First off, unless I happened to go there on «diversity night», the allegations of racism by some reviewers is unfounded at this place. Our group was very diverse and the gentleman at the door along with the rest of the staff were very polite. The issue for me was that the line between club and lounge is a bit blurred here. There is not a dance floor, yet they had a DJ playing canned dance music. Also, the drink prices were pretty high for a lounge located in a residential neighborhood with a Starbucks, Carwash, Wendys, and Burger King within walking distance. I’m sure someone reading this might think I am a cheapskate but I do have a lot of experience with clubs/bars and wouldn’t expect them to charge what a 7 – 11 charges; however, for this place, $ 9 well drinks and $ 6 domestics seemed a bit high. Some clubs can get away with that because they have the live music, fancy lights, dance floors, etc. but this place is much more relaxed. Overall though it is a unique place and I might go back on my own. An A-OK rating is not bad.

I love this place!!! Awesome layout, location and bartenders all definitely partake in the positive aspects of this venue. However, and unfortunately, as time passes, morality falters starting at the door; actually, it starts at ownership. As a customer, I actually could care less about race/color of the clientele as I prefer a mix crowd; as long as the vibe is positive and fun. Unfortunately, I witnessed multiple denials of entry due to race, which is absolutely absurd in a multicultural community like Houston. My first experience here was wonderful. The crowd was beautiful and polite, the staff was attentive and the music was enjoyable(thank you Josh Dupont). During my most recent experience, I lost upmost respect after watching a SINGLE, Asian female denied access after 20 – 30 minutes while group after group were allowed inside either by «internal» requests or random groups of «Caucasian» mobs demanding entry or «sneaking» inside when the bouncer’s attention was diverted. She wasn’t the only one. Anyone, that had a «tan» had to wait, while color-deprived individuals were allowed inside. Oh, I understand club business in Houston – Asian Invasion, Ghetto, etc. is not the main target of new and upcoming clubs/lounges/bars in Houston. Ya-I get it. Seriously, bouncers in LA, NYC and Miami won’t even stoop that low. Ya, ya, it’s not a fair comparison, but the Houston scene, no matter how new it is, lacks the competition for such a door attitude enforcing single women wait in thirty degree weather.
Not that it matters, but I highly doubt I will return anytime soon. I’d rather sip on a martini at a local restaurant rather than wait behind an angry mob of people who just crawled out of the«closet.» I have high hopes, that the vibe normalizes to a local, neighborhood crowd or there’s an increase in competition via the same lounge principle.
