I went in on June 30, 2011 to buy an alternator for my car, and was happy to see that the employees were just as friendly and helpful as my last visit which was about 4 years ago. A few days later, I went by Houston Alternator to drop off the old one for the core exchange. They open at 7:30am and that’s something you can count on. It seems most businesses these days believe posting store hours is just for decoration. Not only was Houston Alternator open, but it looked like they had already been working for a while, and the employee at the counter was ready to do business. It’s great when «the good old days» can still be found today.

I took them an alternator to rebuild and it did not work, I had to take it off and take it to them again, not worth the time and labor.

Friendly counter guy. They rebuild alternators for more than half the price of a new one. We use these guys whenever a customer’s budget doesn’t allow for a new or rebuilt alternator from the aftermarket part stores. Usually done in one day too!
