Stopped in for lunch with my boyfriend and was disappointed with the level of service and quality of food. Even aside from the stale redneck décor of stuffed game birds on the walls staring down at you and the canned oldies country music playing from the speakers this was not a positive dining experience. To begin with, when addressed with a simple question of what kind of bread the regular sandwiches were served with, the girl at the cash register couldn’t give me an answer beyond«po boys are served on french bread». I ended up ordering the signature ham sandwich and my boyfriend got the signature ham hot plate. When the food came out, the meals were served separately and the hot plate required a visit to the counter, which we were not informed of until after my sandwich came out of the kitchen and he went to ask about his plate at the register. The food itself was nothing to write home about either. My toasted sandwich came out overstuffed with lettuce and the bread was crumbling in my hands, making the whole thing difficult to eat. The toppings did nothing to highlight the ‘specialty’ ham and didn’t complement it at all, rather treating it like any store-bough deli meat. As for my boyfriend’s hot plate, the only thing right about the greens, ham, roll, and stuffing with gravy was that the greens were in the realm of appropriate texture. On both meals, our ham had dry blackened corners and not the typical glazed edges one would expect of this type of food. The prices were fair for what they were marketing, however the taste(and quality/prestige) just was not there. Would not recommend unless you don’t care about the taste of what you’re eating.

Came to this place for lunch with a client a few months back and liked it so much I came back today while in the area. The gumbo is great! They have gumbo everyday and different special for other days of the week. Classic comfort food!

I love ham and this place got great hams! Located near the CityWest corporate building, this is the perfect lunch spot for people who are working there or training there. The menu includes various kinds of sandwiches that include the shop’s signature ham and poboys. The food is a bit pricey with each sandwich alone averages about $ 8 and the basic and cheapest one costs $ 6(Yeah that’s what I got… I’m cheap). But the honey glazed sandwich is really good and definitely worth a try! With so many people during lunchtime, I think I’m not alone to say that this place serves a pretty delicious lunch.

Went in and got their specialty burger which I heard was great. It was definitely a good burger and good fries, but nothing to write home about. Burger and fries(no drink) was $ 10, a little expensive for what we got.
