Yay! Hobby lobby was having a great sale so I scored some awesome new gadgets. I needed some new patio tables and found two that complement each other perfectly. Can’t wait for the concrete to set so I can put everything out and see what the final product looks like.

I came to the store to pick up a few crafty items and I was twisted around because the items I needed were in two or three different places and that was a lot being I had two of my curious sons with me(that is difficult in it self) lol! Trying to calm them down from all the fun stuff they’d seen! Anywho, the first employee I came across in the fabric section(elder) was stand off-ish in a bad way too! It was like I was intimidated to even go up and ask a question. I did,(I’m not a punk) and she had a Snigh answer which lead me to GTFO of that area! So eventually I found what I was looking for. As we were walking to the register I came across another employee(younger) lady, she was a little off but she answered my question as best as she could. When I got to the register the lady was pleasant and kind so hey she is the reason I give them three stars and plus I found what I needed. I’m on my way back to the store now, hopefully this will be more welcoming;)

I shop at Hobby Lobby for very specific things. I have not investigated the entire store, nor have I purchased items that they generally showcase. When I go in, I beeline to one specific area for my tasks at hand: My Generation: I actually have a sewing machine, and I use it. I am on a never-ending quest for fabrics and items with which to sew. I know there aren’t a whole lot of people like me still out there nor are there a wide variety of stores available that carry specifically sewing notions. I’m grateful that Hobby Lobby has a fabric section so that I can continue enjoying and using my sewing machine. Bargain: OMG, when they have ribbon trim on sale, I grab a basket at the door. What a deal. I use a lot of ribbon trim for embellishments on baby towels, blankets and other projects, so when it’s half off, I literally stock up for future use. A great selection of colors, patterns, widths and styles. All of the ribbon is excellent quality(not cheaply bound at the edges); it sews well and doesn’t fray. Pure and Easy: Hobby Lobby’s fabric selection is limited. However, what they do have is basic, good quality, good weight and a great price, especially when it’s on sale. Heck, even when it’s not on sale, it’s not that expensive. Bought poly/satin for a backing for a baby blanket: $ 2.99 a yard — I was happy. They do have a small clearance rack that should be checked regularly(some very good deals there) and a limited supply of decorator fabrics at very reasonable prices. Bonus: the fabric cutters meticulously cut your fabric, too. If there’s a stripe or plaid or some sort of lined pattern on the fabric, I will watch as they unfold and cut it a single layer at a time to make sure they’re cutting it straight. Sweet! I Can See For Miles: While I know this is a very large store that sells a multitude of craft items, I have only occasionally ventured away from my familiar territory. When I have, I’ve found associates to help me locate items that were a little bizarre — like glue used for affixing ribbon to card-stock weight paper when I was preparing a rehearsal dinner menu. In fact, their wedding craft items are superb; I bought quite a few items here when my son and daughter-in-law got married last summer. I know there’s so much here that I haven’t discovered, but then again, my wallet probably thanks me for that. Success Story: I know what Hobby Lobby carries and I go here to buy those items — and I walk away happy. Coupons are available online, which helps, but their sales are consistent and they really are true sales that save me a chunk of change. The only reason I’ve deducted a star is because sometimes their checkout lines are slow with only two lanes open and many people waiting.

Update to my previous review(sorry I took me too long: D) We found a beautiful nativity set at Sacco. Hard to compare the price, but it’s smaller(which I referred), of course, cheaper. But the best part is that the set is so beautiful. we love this set much much better and since we don’t like Hobby Lobby… we decided to returned all things that we bought from them. THEIRLOSTFORBADSERVICE! I did got the tree returned afterward and in such a thankful that we decided to return it instead of following the exchange rule… because when we brought back the tree, the same mean silly manager said that if it already got exchanged, it couldn’t be returned nor exchange for the second time. WHAT… As I said earlier, what if the second tree has the same problem… that mean you or I have to stuck with it. NEVERHEARDSUCH A THINGBEFORE. Oh well, we don’t want to argue with stupid people as long we got it returned. So, remember friends… that’s Hobby Lobby policy… at least at this location. Lucky, we brought it back right away and wayyyyyyyyy before xmas otherwise they might say something else to make us keep their tree.
