historic houston salvages prized pieces of historic homes prior to demolition to help preserve homes that are fortunate enough to survive the wrecking ball. in houston, the latter is increasingly, shamefully, rare.
the materials saved for reuse by historic houston provide many ideas for projects not specifically about restoration or repair. think handcrafted door used to make table top or unusual trim used for art installation.
it’s best to hit this place during good weather as they are not climate controlled and some items are outside.

Was driving around and stumbled upon this place. It’s a cool concept. Basically they salvage parts from houses slated for demolition.
They have a huge warehouse filled with old doors, handles, windows, anything and everything you might need.
They are only open wednesday and saturday 10 am — 4 pm.
