Great place with awesome food and atmosphere. The filet is killer! The location is great too. It’s awesome place to have drink if going to show at the Toyota Center.

Great food and service. Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. Got the pesto chicken pasta, corn chowder soup, and crème brûlée. All were tasty! Crème brûlée ended up having too much rum for my taste and they easily switched out my dessert for chocolate cake and took it off my tab. Will definitely recommend to friends and be back!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday and the food and service was great. I had the bacon and mushroom omelet and my husband had the BTL. He didn’t care for the super thick toast but the fries were close to perfection. There’s live menu and the drink menu is spectacular. Try the Pink Delicious!

Liked it– a restaurant/pub adjacent to the Embassy Suites; very friendly service and excellent food. Mary had the blackened snapper, and I had the short ribs; both were excellent; they also had a long selection of beer, including many local brews, on tap. Great chandelier, by the way. A bit pricey, but that’s not unexpected right downtown.

The chefs sampler was good but the asparagus was a bit greasy. Service was amazing and our waiter gave great food suggestions and made our visit a pleasant one. The ceviche was a ceviche, nothing special. 3 stars on the food, 5 for the service.

We came here the other night with my husband, his family, my sister, her boyfriend and his parents. We reserved for a table of eight and were seated quickly after a small wait because we arrived early(just grabbed a drink at the huge bar while we waited). Once we got to the table we ordered appetizers, an order of calamari and then a charcuterie plate. The calamari was superb, I thought the sauce they paired it with on the side was perfect and a refresher from the norm. Normally, with calamari you can expect that orangey brown thick sauce that is reminiscent of Cane’s that is normally served cold. The sauce they served is hard to describe, but it remind me a bit of au jus in color, but very sweet and tangy in taste. Not at all meaty like an au jus. Really enjoyable. Next up the charcuterie board. I understand what they’re trying to do with all the sliced meats, but I’m not sure it’s working. There were about four different slices of meat with a side of dessert pickles and slices crostini’s. I really only found one meat that I liked that seemed to be closets to prosciutto as did everyone else. The other meats seemed to be pretty processed and unappealing. I imagine if you paired the cheese board with this it would be alright, but I don’t think we will get the charcuterie board again when we return. Next up, the mains. My sister got the salmon as did a few others at the table, the husband got the red snapper, and I got the seafood risotto. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed their meal, and I did have a bite of my sister’s salmon and it was very good. My seafood risotto was ultra creamy(just the perfect amount of bite to the risotto — I’ve cooked it only a hand full of times and it can be hard to get it just right) and the highlight was all the little bites of scallop, shrimp and fish that could be found throughout. I will say I was hoping the risotto had a bit more flavor– in particular I remember Shade had a really amazing asparagus risotto with whole scallops on top that I still think about to this day… The drinks here are good, and I hardly ever have a qualm with a places drink menu… Especially a gastropub like this. Overall, a beautiful and even romantic place to share a few drinks or dinner and enjoy each other’s company.

A friend of mine celebrated her birthday at Hearsay and I was happy to check another restaurant off my bookmarked list. We arrived promptly for our reservation and the table was already set up. After we took a seat, the server came by shortly after to take our order. We picked her brain for good drink choices, then made our selection. About an hour later the entire party arrived and we placed our food orders. My girlfriend and I shared the pork chops because we weren’t very hungry. In retrospect I wish we would’ve gotten separate plates, I definitely could’ve indulged more. We ordered a side of Mac n cheese and fries as well. A friend next to me ordered the fried asparagus and they were delicious, I will definitely order those next time. Hearsay on the Green is a gem. Great service, ambiance, food and location. Parking is a but of a challenge if you don’t valet, but there is a lot nearby. I look forward to visiting again.

GREATBARTENDERS — Come here to have a successful Sunday Funday. Mimosas, French 75s… pick your poison! Brunch until 3pm /Small plates until 5 /Dinner until late. Connects to Embassy Suites hotel. Can’t beat it. Never crowded and better location for big groups in comparison to the Congress location! Come here, sit at the bar, you won’t be disappointed. Promise.

We stopped in at Hearsay on the Green after the UYE at MKT Bar. Service was slow that evening and so was business. So needless to say at this point in time I may need to visit again to see if my review should be updraded. Walked in at about 10ish pm. Sat at a table with a group of about 5. Waiter came by with no smile but ready to take our drink orders. Took a good while before the drinks were served and then I saw it… a dead fly in my drink. No Biggie, I flag the waiter down after I finally see him walking back to us 10 minutes later. I show him the fly, he looks, grabs the drink walks away. No words, no apologies. Comes back with the same drink. I take it, what the heck. Our server was basically lost after that. My husband ordered a second drink which he never received. So all in all not very good and I would love to be one of those people to rave about the wonderful experience I had but I just didnt. Maybe next time.

The restaurant has a dark, intimate atmosphere and the area my group was in was spacious for the 100+ guests. We had some light bites on a side table and the servers were incredibly attentive at serving drinks, especially when said patron moves to a different table and the server is still able to find them! I ordered the lobster with puff pastry. The lobster was properly cooked(not overcooked like a lot of non-seafood restaurants tend to do), and the bechamel sauce was creamy and delicious! I was either really hungry or it was just that good, but I demolished that dish. Yum!

2nd visit Came in around 3 before a Rockets game with the Hubs. Sat at the bar. Noticed a lack of servers for a restaurant that was pretty busy for a sat afternoon. Took about 10 min to get menus so we almost left. Then bartender Ryan swooped in… he made craft cocktails and waited tables like a man on fire! Hubs and I both loved our craft cocktails. Only gripe was the copper cup was def stainless steel with any«copper» flaking off… yuck. We shared corn crab chowder and fried asparagus. The remoulade with the asparagus was soooooo good I would have ate it on a sandal. Really Ryan showed that he is a super hero for this place since I was ready to write it off due to poor service last time even though I know their chef is legit.

Came here for a birthday dinner and ordered the lamb chops. For 35 bucks it didn’t fill me up, and didn’t taste all that great. My sister had one of the burgers and that was certainly a better value and tasted way better. The place was very small but had a nice intimate setting. There’s parking across the street for 7 dollars weeknights and 15 on the weekends. My wife had the lemon shrimp linguini and it was okay and nothing special at all. I recommend sticking to their burgers and the Kobe hotdog.

This place is stunning inside. Beautiful chandeliers and industrial lighting, set against brick walls make it a «vintique» meets speakeasy mash-up. Cozy and swank with great food. I will say, that the truffle mac and cheese starter was not impressive. It was dry and little to no actual macaroni in these. However, the St. Arnold beer battered asparagus was to die for. Think huge spears lightly coated in a thin crunchy exterior, well done guys! Jalapeño drink was spot on with the sweet heat this craft cocktail was putting out. The Salmon entrée servered atop israeli couscous was perfection. Chicken sandwich was a hit, as was the bone in pork chop … so said the couple that I was dining with. Looking forward to the next time I dine with you Hearsay.

I really wish I could give this restaurant more than two stars but here’s why I can’t! Pros: –French toast was delicious –good Mimosas Cons: –called to tell hostess I was running a few minutes late for my reservation because I was looking for parking. She then proceeded to just say ok and hung up the phone. Didn’t even ask my name or anything –parking — when I arrived there was no «real» hostess at the front greeting everyone. A server ran to the front once they finally noticed us at the front –our server came to inquire what we would like to drink when there was only two of us there for a party of 13. When everyone else arrived he never came back to ask if they would like something to drink other than water. –food portions were very small –when we were ready to pay out it took us about a good 45 minutes to get our servers attention. All the servers were standing in the bar area watching a football game that was on tv. –server was not attentive at all Overall, my experience here was not good. Just complete terrible service from the time I called to the time that I left. I would not return to this location but I’ll tryout another location because the food was actually delicious.

I visited with my husband and two other couples and we had a wonderful time! Our waiter Chris as super friendly and made our experience super fun! We all had cocktails from the Whitney, to a grapefruit daiquiri and they were all delicious! The drinks came out quick — so props to the bartender! For food we share the macaroni balls and they were so yummy! For dinner everyone enjoyed their meal! I had the Hearsay burger which was delicious and my husband had the goat cheese salad also really good! Can’t remember everyone else dishes, but we had no complaints! We shared the bread pudding for dessert and loved that as well! The atmosphere was great! It wasn’t super busy because it was a Sunday night, but I am sure that it is super fun on a Friday or Saturday when it’s busier. Super close walking distance to Discovery Green, that would be fun to do after dinner!

3.5, ya’ll. Came here for lunch and it was pretty standard. I had the Yellow Fin Tuna Salad. I previously had it at the original location and didn’t like the balsamic dressing on it. I decided to give it another go with lemon vinaigrette this time. Still a no go. Some of the salad was wilted and looked old/had a slimy texture. I was a big fan of the appetizers, though. There were crab cakes, fried asparagus(delicious! even without the sauce), and deviled eggs. I enjoyed that and dessert, which was crème brûlée infused with lavender and honey. The crème brûlée had a very nice, creamy texture and the lavender was just enough, not too overpowering or subtle. Service was good throughout the entire meal. Water kept flowing, food came out promptly. No complaints there.

I was a fan of Hearsay. I really enjoyed that mix of casual and upscale as well as New American food. + Hearsay on the Green, unlike its predecessor, as much easier street parking and reservations. It has the same menu more or less as the Gastropub. Opportunities for improvement: 1. Service is SLOOOOOOOWWWWW no matter when you go. Painfully slow. 2. Service is pretty inattentive. If you miss your normal window to order a drink or ask for an extra napkin, you will be ignored. This may be due to dim lighting and a louder atmosphere; maybe the servers just don’t see you. BUT they also don’t check in very much. 3. Service will butcher your order. I ordered a salad with chicken instead of salmon. I was given an altogether different salad with about half of the ingredients(and the ingredients were different). 4. The food is kind of meh compared to other American New places. I had ordered cookies with dinner. They came out super crunchy to the point that they lacked any moisture. Due to the high sugar and salt content, this was kind of funky for me. Maybe I needed a glass of milk. So, yeah, it can be a more upscale place to visit. Yeah, it’s the kind of reservation that can stretch 2 – 3 hours if you have a lot of conversation to make. Ultimately, it’s sort of underwhelming for me. It’s not horrible, but I find that there are other nice places to go for the same ambience.

If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would. I prefer the hearsay gastro lounge not on the green, but this wasn’t too shy of my expectations. This location seems smaller and not as rustic/cool as the other location. We got the deviled eggs and crab cakes to start. We all loved the crab! The deviled eggs were just ok. The other location did candied bacon which was much better. Entrees were pretty good. I had the lamb chops and they were delish! I ordered medium rare and one was overcooked. This places does greens like no other! The spinach was awesome! Cocktails are great and a great price on happy hour. I’d come back.

Didn’t know this location was connected to a hotel! It was like the hotel restaurant/bar! Which only means it sucks for parking downtown. I paid $ 10 across the street but left my car there so we could go out after dinner and just über it around! The restaurant was nice. On par with the Hearsay Gastropub. Same décor, same feel. Loud loud music. Sounded as if there was a DJ but there wasn’t and it was hard for conversation. Service was a bit on the slow side. Took about 30−40mins to get our bill and pay, granted it was a Saturday night and so many people were out! Drinks. Good Moscow mule. Not the greatest I’ve ever had. Seems to be light on the liquor. Does come in a copper mug though! Food. I was recommended the Byrd. Delicious burger with the fried egg, jalapeños, onions, tomatoes, juicy bacon cooked perfectly on a soft sweet bun! It was a good burger. Granted hard to eat and a bit messy so probably not a good choice for date night. Good but just not special. I’ve had amazing burgers like this at other places too. My friend said her seafood risotto was too salty. I didn’t taste it so I can’t vouch for it. Overall a good experience with good food. Nothing to rave about but not disappointed either. Except I wish the service was faster. Update: came back here before a show at the Hobby Center. My pesto chicken pasta was delicious! Definitely seasoned correctly and hit the spot for comfort food. The devil’s egg with bacon and chives were good. Nothing fancy or spectacular. The avocado caprese salad was good. Maybe 3 slices of avocado and small balls of mozzarella over arugula and balsamic. Not my favorite mozzarella. A little bland but the salad was tasty because of the sweet balsamic. Service again was slow even on a Sunday and there were only a handful of people in there. Even the waiter noticed how slow the kitchen was and comped us our dessert for having to wait so long. Again, $ 10 for parking and there was no event — just the lot across the street overcharging. Bad location because they only provide complimentary valet for hotel guests. They should reconsider this for the restaurant as well.

Normally love this place, but not this time. We had a late night reservation at 11:00pm. Seated right away, our waitress promptly came and let us know she had just«aquired» our table. It took about 15 minutes to get our cocktails. I had a margarita that was so lime juiced up I couldnt finish it. This place is known for their hand made cocktails. Very disappointing, I even tried to water it down with my water but I had to leave it. Everything was taking a long time, so I tried to just suck it up-literally, but I couldn’t get past the overy limed out taste, and I love a great handmade margarita! We had the Crispy Calamari and Shrimp-it was tempura battered and very very oily. Even the lemons were fried-(REALLY!) We also had the the black bean burger with rosemary fries. This thing was awful. we were exhaused so we packed this part of our meal to go. when we attempted to eat it once we got to our hotel, the texture was so «off» my partner makes black bean burgers at home that is why we ordered it to begin with, but it couldn’t even compare. Sso i don’t know if this was an off night, however I will think hard before we go late night again.
