Hartz Krispy Chicken

I love this location it has great food and even better customer service and it’s always hot and fresh made to order

Gizzards, gizzards, gizzards… my run to Hartz to pick up gizzards for someone, turn into a deep conversation in the drive thru lane. The gentleman running drive thru was super friendly and talkative in a good way. Love their wings sauce on please, and hot rolls, you have to visit for your self.

Compared to other Hartz locations this one is my favorite. The people that work there keep the line fresh and are very friendly. The food is good and at a great price. I like chicken livers and so there are very few places I can get them. This Hartz location fries them just perfect.
My only complaint is that they close at 8:30. Wish they’d consider being open later. Otherwise I can’t say a bad thing about them.

For as long as I’ve been in Houston I had never actually eaten inside of a Hartz chicken. I used to live really close to one on the SW side and drove past it a many times. Recently, I have been a lunch funk so decided to drive around until I found something that I hadn’t had before. This place is a stand alone building in an isolated parking lot of a HCC campus. It’s a bit ghetto, but I’m always down for food no matter the surroundings. They offer both to go and buffet. I opted for their buffet which comes with a drink for about 8 bucks.
Their chicken was fine nothing special, but they do offer baked, and wings too. They had baked fish, liver, and gizzards too as far as proteins. And they have plenty of sides too. My favorite was the rolls, corn, and broccoli and cheese. The mashed potatoes was solid, I enjoyed the brown gravy better. They even had a dessert dish made out of the same rolls. It’s super sweet but great in a small portion.
I probably won’t come back since if you hit up popeye’s on a Tuesday it’s probably actually cheaper and much tastier.

Best fried chicken in Houston. Always fresh and crispy. I’m not a big side guy so I always get the 8 piece chicken only. A guilty pleasure !
