Lew is amazing! I have lived in Houston for about 5 years now and had yet to find a hairstylist I was happy with. I love more stylish hair and often times have had hairstylists fail at doing a good job. Well, I have found my permanent hair stylist! Not only did he do a fantastic job but he was so helpful on explaining ways that I can style it. He is truly an artist with hair. I got the haircut I wanted and it was beyond expectations. I am going to recommend him to everyone!

I was in town visiting and discovered Lew through Instagram. He is so warm and talented – if I lived in Houston, he would be my go-​to! Lew turned my shaggy bob, with a few inches of grown-​out highlights, into something that not only suited me, but somehow managed to hide and blend the unintentional ombré.

I have gone through many expensive salons and «top artists» to do my hair, which can be a little difficult to manage with thin hair. He takes care of my hair and is able to give me the look and style that I want at a fair price. On top of this, he is very kind and humorous to talk to! I am so glad I found Lew!

Lew is an amazing Stylist and Professional. I have been a client of his ever since I moved to Houston over a year ago, and now have followed him to his own location. Each time I see him I am always impressed at how amazing my hair looks with all the different shades of brown, blonde, or caramel I decide to go each time!
He always has a glass of vino or spritzer waiting. I highly recommend him and trust him completely with my hair! One great thing about Lew is that he honestly cares about getting your color or cut perfect and has the best advice on which direction to go. His expertise on color combos with specific toners is key as well. My hair is always the perfect tone and blends out beautifully. He’s an artist and loves his job which shows through his work and positive attitude. I am so grateful for Lew Lew!

Lew is the best! I was a client of his at his three previous salons and now that he had his own place it’s even better. Each time he’s been consistent on delivering really beautiful hair.
To give a little background, my natural Asian hair is very dark, of course, and after trying to bleach my own hair with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda (don’t do this. don’t even think about doing this.) it was very, very brassy (think Cheeto orange). The first time I came to Lew he completely transformed my hair and color melted it into a sombre and cancelled out all the brass. The second time we blended out my natural root that was growing out into a some really beautiful brunette tones. And most recently I wanted to go to a ashy, pearl blonde and Lew toned it really nicely!
Not only does he create beautiful hair color, Lew takes his time to educate you on the products he’s using as well as how the coloring process works with different dyes and bleaches and toners. Most importantly he gives you good recommendations on how to maintain your color, which is very important if you can’t come in every few weeks.
Super glad to have found him and can trust that he’ll always deliver high quality cuts/​color!

Lew is the best! I followed him from another salon. He does a beautiful job with my hair color and leaves it looking not only very natural but extremely conditioned. I am undergoing cancer treatments and it hasn’t been a friend to my skin or hair but Lew has brought it back to a shiny healthy head of hair. His cuts are very flattering for this middle aged woman and he is one of the nicest people I know. Thank you Lew!

It was a huge challenge to find someone who could work some brown magic into my hair without all the brassiness that Asian hair inevitably turns as the color fades. But I’m so glad I went to Lew and the color has been growing out beautifully, good for me since I don’t have the time to constantly go for for touch ups. My earlier balayage highlights (also by Lew) gradually peek through and I love the strands of dark blonde too, until my next visit to glaze/​tone it. Just love the dimension of the color building on from previous visits and minimum brass. Yay for true color payoff, yay for Lew!

Mr. L. Derkowski is an excelent professional. Lets say an artist for haircuts.
Unfortunately I still can’t find until now a good hairdresser here in Manhattan that could be compared to him.

Lew is truly an artist! His attention to detail and commitment to his clients is unsurpassed. He is one of the BEST hairstylists in all of Houston and I’ve been to several salons before finding him. I really like that he listens to what I want and also makes suggestions based on my hair type. He uses innovative techniques and the results are amazing! I got a hair cut and color on Friday and love the results :)

Lew is awesome! I was a client of his at his previous salon – now he has opened his own shop and the experience is even better. I wouldn’t trust many other people with my hair.
He is an expert at texturizing, shaping, and thinning my hair. I have pretty thick hair that is hard to tame but Lew does a great job. I normally get my haircut every four weeks but waited a little longer between my last haircut because I have moved away from Houston. His last cut grew in especially well, which is rare for me and my hair texture. Also, with the products Lew has recommended, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the way my hair behaves.
I would highly recommend him to anyone.

There are many reasons that I am giving Lew a 5 star review, first I LOVE my hair! Lew is amazing with his coloring and cuts. He is a great listener and I really appreciate how he always makes sure we are on the same page with the outcome of every appointment.
I have been coloring my hair for over 10 years now. I know how challenging it is to describe a desired color and not know if the stylist is understanding you. Lew always makes a point to show examples of color swatches/​pictures and review what we are going to do before putting any color on my hair. I always leave feeling educated and a part of the process.
When I first started going to Lew, my hair had been consistently fading to a «red» tone. I had been dissatisfied with my hair for a long time, over a year. After my first visit Lew was able to get it out/​cover it. After my second visit I have not had the problem at all. I like how Lew educated me that it might take a few visits to get all of the «red» that I was describing out, but that it was perfectly do-​able. I’m more than satisfied that it only took two visits to achieve the perfect color.
I am always happy with my hair after my appointments with Lew, and I always look forward to my next! Not only do I love my hair, my appointments are so fun! Lew is smart, charming, and has a great sense of humor! Random fact I learned at my last appointment, he is a painter and has an art degree!
Again, I love my hair and Lew! I have no reasons why you shouldn’t go see him and love your hair too! So stop making excuses and make your appointment with him!

I love love Lew! He is the only one I trust to cut my hair! I am very picky when it comes to how much people can cut off, and believe me I have had some hair nightmares. Lew listens to what you want, and gives you what you want every time! I highly recommend him!
