Great cut and great color. I have had people all over the country ask who does my hair. I even had a very well known NYC plastic surgeon’s staff ask where I had it done. I am naturally blonde, kept it baby blonde and eventually went dark. People cannot believe it isn’t my natural color. Christopher is also extremely flexible. I have forgotten about appointments and he has been so nice about letting me reschedule. No pretentious airs, no intimidation factors that so many Houston salons seem to enjoy. Christopher has been my favorite hair stylist ever.

Gloss is excellent. But what I should really say is Christopher is awesome. Getting a haircut at Gloss is really a special experience. It is not a loud, crowded, noisy salon. And unlike most salons, Christopher never pushes any products on you. In truth, getting a haircut at Gloss is like having a personal stylist. I say this because the salon is an intimate, modern space one client at a time. When you are there, Christopher is concerned with you and you alone. It’s private, which means Christopher’s knack for attention for detail can really shine. Christopher has been cutting my hair for a few years now, and I won’t go anywhere else. I feel a little apprehensive about writing this up on Unilocal because I selfishly want to keep this a secret. But Christopher deserves the nod. Check Gloss out when you decide you want a better haircut.

Edit: There was a lot of recent staff changes, so I’m knocking Gloss back from a 5 to a 3. I’m pretty sure the stylists and colorists here are still competent, but I can’t vouch for them personally. Everything at Gloss is absolutely great. Great cuts, great color, great service, great products, great atmosphere, no pretention. While it seems like they’d cater mostly to the 18 – 30 somewhat trendy demographic, I’ve seen people from all walks of life come out of here looking fabulous. Stylists are attentive and will either come up with something great(every time, no duds) or listen to your ideas. Appointments can get scarce at peak times, so don’t wait until the last minute.
