Karaōke spot in downtown Houston. It is a very small compact spot, definitely don’t want to be caught in a fire here as there is no direct route out of the building. The vibes are awesome big groups, small groups all having fun and laughing at themselves and others. Unfortunately there is no system for seat patrons who want to be seated. With that being said, an open seating system was assumed. When we asked the manager about seating he was very rude and walked away while we were speaking to him. This was my first time here and probably will not be back. I don’t feel as a customer who is willing to spend money at your establishment that you should be spoken to rudely or brushed off. Just my honest opinion. Since we were not seated, I can’t speak on the the food. However it looked awesome and smelled great. Veggies looked fresher and vibrant. Maybe next time.

Been coming for years. The owners are really nice. They have a great Wednesday steak night as well as a great Thursday pop chefs. If you like kareokee or just want a place to sit and chill with friends it’s a good place to go. They also do offer bottle service at more then a reasonable price.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVEKARAOKE! I found a place that I wish could be moved to Dallas! Glitter is a little place of musical Heaven. Full service bar and Tuesday’s is TACONIGHT so it brings in the criwd. There are regular singers and newbies but they don’t make you feel that way. The cute door guy checks your ID and ask if you reserved a table. I have never been to a karaōke establishment that allowed for reservations and I think it is a great thing especially for celebrating special ocassions. The bartender is a teddy bear named Todd and he serves up whatever drink you tell him without the squirrely looks you get at some places. The sound system is perfection and the KJ has an ear for making people sound great. I have only known one other KJ with that talent but he sadly has retired. The Songbook is digital and you can build a list of your favorites. Being at Glitter was such a fun experience that I might actually just roll to Houston in the weekends just to sing again and again and again! That’s how much I love this place. Even if you don’t sing you will love to just hangout at Glitter because the atmosphere is so much fun. Music is the great equalizer and Glitter is proof positive!

Nice cute venue. Karaōke is open to everyone but the venue is small enough that it’s fun!

How does this place have such high reviews? Very questionable. It’s a hole in the wall and has a depressing vibe. If you want to listen to drunk ppl sing shitty songs then go ahead. There are so many better bars within walking distance.

Very disappointed! We gave the DJ several song requests and not one was played. Not worth the money!

I understand this place is fairly new, yet it looks like it has been open for years and the owner just stopped caring about cleaning, painting, making sure the beer taps are cold and the co2 is set right. It is probably the most divey bar I have ever been in, and I usually like dive bars. The men’s room has no stalls or door locks so if you have more than beer to drop off, be prepared to have people walking in and out to use one of the 3 urinals and apologizing for the smell that you can’t deny. My wife told me that the ladies room had blood on the walls. At least the staff was rude, all of the other bars we stopped at had pretty nice people working them, so finally having one with rude employees really added the midtown bar atmosphere I have grown to loathe.

It’s Joe’s birthday, and beep all of our friends for drink. I’ve never tried this place, so I’m new in thus place. Glitter has a great place, though it’s packed, we’re still able to find a place. Bouncers are great too. While the drinks are fine, the price is way too pricey. I’m not the one who will pay anyway. But love spending time here.

Finally got my karaōke fix and reunited with an old friend and family all at once! Thanks to arriving right around 10pm-ish there were only a handful of people seated and others at the bar. They actually make long islands here BTW and they are yummy! The sound system is great although the song choices are a bit limited. I was surprised that the DJ dude actually suggested some really random songs that I’d normally love to sing, but I was in the mood to actually do since more Top 40 stuff first(ya know, to energize the crowd) but they didn’t have certain songs… A BOOK is always a good idea for a karaōke joint. I was also a lil disappointed my song got pushed back and the DJ admitted he didn’t put it in yet… So I thought that was a lil unfair, but as I said i’m glad I got a few songs in earlier anyway! Hope they update the system a bit, but we’ll be back– with backup singers!!! :)

POPUP Experience Review Time! I’ve been a fan of Glitter Karaōke for the longest time. The Wong Bros. have got something really great going on here with their awesome bar staff and their superior karaōke experience. But they took what was already great and made it even better by offering the occasional«chef pop up» nights. This gives food lovers a great chance to sample different local chef’s experiments and ideas at a great price! Last night the pop up was gourmet tacos! Since I missed my shot at Taco Tuesday this week this was a great chance to make up for it! The barbacoa taco was just perfect! Growing up Mexican American, I knew what a good cut of barbacoa was and they pulled this one off nicely! Juicy meat, not greasy at all, perfectly cooked corn tortillas made from scratch, fresh cilantro and the perfect green salsa to give it that kick that these tacos are known for! I didn’t get the chance to sample any other tacos but I loved what I had. They also expanded the club as well so that the private room is more accessible to patrons and I was also glad to see that they are expanding their brews on tap as well as their offerings in bottle. I can never get enough of hanging out and singing along with the crowd and having a good time over delicious food and drinks. This place is one of the things I missed most about Houston and I am happy to see that it’s only getting better!

If I could give this place negative 100 stars I would. Granted that’s a little dramatic however it’s fitting since someone spilled and broke glass on my friend. The owners were not remorseful. We talked to the waitress who wouldn’t do anything nor did the bartender. A direct quote from the bartender was«not my problem». And finally asked for the owner and described what happened to the owner or whoever the chubby Asian guy was, who seemed to be highly intoxicated, which we deduced from the two songs we observed him singing, long before this incident occurred. Both owners didn’t seem sorry. One of the owners asked how long we’ve been there. I replied at least two hours since we came in around 10:30 and it was around 1AM at this point. But the owner didn’t believe me and started saying that I was lying and calling BS. As a woman, I did not feel comfortable with the fact that this heavy set Asian guy was pointing his finger in my face and saying that what I was saying was BS. I felt like he would have hit me if it weren’t for the bouncer coming in to intervene. This guy said that he was the owner I remind you. Even if I was drunk and belligerent, which I was not since I didn’t order a single drink and had been drinking water the entire time I was there, a business owner should just call security to remove a person from the premises if I had been drinking. He should not escalate the issue in his drunken stupor. In fact, as the owner, he probably shouldn’t have been drunk in order to better properly asses the situation. They did not want to give us our cash back for the tips we gave to sing songs we were passed over for. These guys are horrible unless you’re a regular. I did not feel comfortable here knowing that this is their response when a customer service issue arises. SERIOUSLY. THESEGUYSAREHORRENDOUSBUSINESSOWNERSANDBRINGSHAMEUPONOTHERSMALLBUSINESSOWNERS. The best revenge is your paper. And I am never bringing my paper back to this place.

Last time I come to this place. Food was terrible and when I was trying to speak to one of the chefs they just completely ignored me and just started talking over me before I even mentioned something. When I made a request for a song the DJ gave me this stupid look but said ok. My song never got played, people that were just coming were already getting their request played. So the food sucks, service sucks, and the DJ sucked the most.

Came here on a Thursday night, and I love the low key vibe this place has! As the night progresses, it gets busier here. Parking isn’t a problem by this time at night, and there are food specials going on. Wednesday is steak night, and Thursday is «Pop Up» night. Ordered all three pop up menu items and can’t say that I enjoyed them very much. Meat chunks for tacu tacu were shredded long ago and dry. Ramen lacked flavor and was abandoned by all three of us. Clientele on Thursday mostly appeared to be young working professionals. Staff is pretty dang cool here, and bartenders know what they are doing. Try the Purple Rain, and prepare yourself for some excellent karaōke renditions… Including some that require a little more alcohol just to listen to. It’s a really fun place to be. Tip: For those that want to sing on busy nights, tipping the DJ never hurts! You might find yourself closer to the front of the line than the back.

A popular hangout for many of my friends, Glitter has been a standby in the midtown area for karaōke in a large stage environment. There are frequent food specialty food nights here with a variety of eats featured… last night was Wednesday night steak night and it was a decent ribeye with crawfish backon mac n cheese. Overall, it’s a nice hangout spot for a lot of people. Due to the group stage setup, you may want to look elsewhere if you need private rooms to have more control over the song turns.

I’ve been hearing about their steak for years! I finally had time to check it out last night. I messaged my friend Jonathan who works the door to reserve me a table. My friend, Annabelle was working and took care of the group I was with. I ordered a water and the steak. The steak came out pretty quick like 15 minutes. It’s a huge steak with dirty rice, a roll, and a salad. The salad was good, the dirty rice was ok. The steak was really flavorful and cooked just like I wanted medium rare. It was $ 12! They need better steak knives though. Overall, it was really good for a steak night!

This past Saturday, our friends and us decided to stop in. The place was packed and bouncer managed to let us and we headed by the bar area. After ordering we found some bar stools and stayed there until a table became vacant. We heard a great variety of music. Drinks are bit steep, and slightly weak. Waitresses did circulate around though they were not able to locate our friend’s card when tab was opened. One of us had to walk over and speak to someone behind the bar to get card back. Parking can be a bit of a drag. Be careful on those tow away signs because each sign has a different time posting. We spent at least five minutes walking down the street to make sure we did not see a tow away sign and that others had not been a parking ticket. They do have closer paid parking. Best bet bring cash, stop by early for a good seat and parking and enjoy the stage!

There’s nothing that gets me more riled up and moistened than singing in front of people I barely know. Glitter has a stage, where you can make a fool of yourself or become a fleeting, shooting star for the night. This particular night, I was a star, damnit. I drank the drinks, sang the songs, and danced the dance. The dew of my sweat glistened upon my skin and I knew this moment would go down in the pinnacles of Glitter history. as we were bidding a lovely friend farewell. Glitter opened itself to this ragtag group and we spread ourselves open to welcome its embrace. Would recommend and go again.
