My husband and I discovered this place when I was going to dr appts in Memorial City Hospital. It’s such a gem — delicious, QUICK, and if you check in, you often get a free goodie :) Now we’ll just pop in when we’re in the area.

I was in the mood for Mediterranean food after running few errands near Memorial City Mall. I remembered seeing the Garbanzo sign earlier so I decided to stop by. I am so glad I did! I ordered the plate and chose chicken as my protein. Other Unilocalers have already mentioned the chipotle set up(you tell the employee what you want and they add it to your plate as you move down the line). The food tastes great and is priced well. I paid about 10 or 11 bucks for the plate and a drink, and I can honestly say the plate was large enough to eat two meals from. I actually took half of it home with me and ate it later. I was happy I checked in because you get a free chocolate chip cookie or baklava. I got the cookie and it was great. Here are my favorite things about Garbanzo: The name rocks. The pitas are served warm. The food is flavorful and fresh. They have a large selection of sauces and garnishes to top your plate and there is no limit! I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to be back in that area of town so I can visit again.

Not authentic Mediterranean but food was still good. Please open one closer to the JV area so I can eat more of this deliciousness!(The traffic in the Memorial area is terrible.) Everyone basically covered the review of this place. I just want to add that the spicy red pepper hummus was delicious! It wasn’t spicy but had a nice kick just perfect for hummus.

This place is DELICIOUS(!!) and priced very well! I got a plate that was FULL of amazing food and split it into two meals, feeling satisfied with both! The management here is so nice too! I spoke with the manager here for a few minutes and he mentioned that 90% of the food is made fresh there in the restaurant! Score! I will definitely be returning back to Garbanzo’s!

I went to Garbanzo’s with my family and some friends. It was our first time. We all loved it. The ordering style is interesting. It’s like ordering at Subway only the food is Mediterranean. Everything is clearly labeled for vegan and gluten-free. I was like a kid in a candy store. How awesome! Best part is, I could order a gluten-free and vegan pita bread! Piping hot! It’s delicious, and I ate it all. I hesitated to share, but it’s the right thing to do. Luckily, nobody wanted to try, so I had it all to myself, hahaha. If you try it, you won’t want to share either. The food is great. The staff is great. They have outdoor seating which is perfect now for this nice weather. First time visiting it and def enjoyed this quick lunch, Food: 5 stars, its quick chipotle style Mediterranean food just like other reviews say, great for lunch or a quick dinner. I hope more of these pop up around Houston. I had the falafel plate which came with a pita on the side Service: The guys behind the counter need to be more free handed, dont be stingy with that tzatziki just like chipotle aint stingy with their guac lol. The cashier Raj was also a cool guy Ambiance: The surrounding area is pretty upscale, they have a nice patio area, it feels like any chipotle, freebirds, whichwich Parking: upfront gets packed quickly, there is free parking in the back garage Pricing: under $ 10 per person

First time here, was craving Mediterranean and this place was near school. The set up was like Chipotles but Mediterranean, I like that you can get all the sides you want. I thought the hummus was good, I’m usually not a fan of hummus but it was really tasty here. Gyro meat was well seasoned, chicken was ok. Overall it was good not the best but good, solid place!

This place is a chipotle style Mediterranean place. It’s a great concept and works really well. I had a falafel plate with babaganoush, he mums, tabbouleh, cucumber salad, and rice. The rice was bland, but everything else was great. The plate is served with a warmed pita. They also have the option of a side of homemade kettle chips. The chips were great. The hummus balls were a bit greasy, but they had an interesting texture. My baby really liked them too, and she lived the babaganoush. I got the plate, chips, and a drink for about $ 10. I share with a hungry falafel loving baby, and I still couldn’t finish it all. We will definitely be back.

H & I decided to grab a bite here last night as I’ve been wanting to try this place out cuz of all the buzz it’s been getting. Located near the hospital in a cluster of 2 story buildings that house a few other high end restaurants. Nice to see this place open up(and Potbelly’s which is a few doors down) offering pretty good eats in a casual atmosphere. I am sure the hospital staff is glad this place opened to give them a break from the cafeteria. We got there around 7-ish & the place was pretty empty. We took a look at the food bar & noticed that it’s the same set up as those burrito places around town. The staff were really, really friendly and helpful(this is how they got the 3rd star). We decided on gyros with a side of hummus. You can vary your gyro with additional toppings but we decided to go w/the standard. The gyros are huge! Took a bite and… well it was just meh. The meat & pita were cold. The tzatziki sauce a bit on the runny side. Overall it was edible but it just left me kicking myself for not going to Niko Niko’s. Stupid me for thinking anything else could even come close. A bit on the pricey side for what you get but I think that’s because of the area. Oh and the side of hummus did not come with a pita. I think the way to go here is to get a plate & forget about the gyro. 2 stars for the food; 1 star for the staff.

First let me say this is my 100th review! YAYME! :) Ok down to business. Met my cousin here for lunch around 2pm on a Monday afternoon. We missed the lunch crowd which I WOULD recommend if it’s your first visit. There’s not a lot-lot of choices but there are enough to piss off other patrons if they’ve gotta wait for you to figure out the difference between baba ghanaoush and tabbouleh(both of which are super fun to say… neither of which you want to name your kids). Upon approaching the line, the spry young lady behind the counter asked if this was our first visit. We nodded to which she responded with her spiel(another super fun word to say) about how to order. Honestly, she kind of lost me but the counter layout was simple enough to follow. Any day I learn something new is a good day! I learned what baba ghanaoush was made of and that garlic salad dressing is kinda disgusting. The baba ghanaoush(giggle) was so tasty! Well, maybe it wasn’t fantastic but I made up my mind that it was because the next time I come here, I want to have a reason to say it again. Where else will I be able to work baba ghanaoush into a conversation with another person? I had the chicken which was perfectly cooked… roasted maybe? Not sure. The whole plate was so pretty and colorful! The Tabbouleh was pretty good. I think I’d appreciate it more if I were a vegetarian. I honestly had no idea what to do with the Pita bread. It was chewy and tasteless which i guess is what Pita bread is suppose to be but I’m not a fan. The in-store made chips were tasty and nicely presented. A little on the salty side but I’d order again. Now the in-store made Pomegranate Lemonade is fantastic! Definitely pick up a cup! The restaurant is comfortable and bright with a good layout. Will definitely be returning!

I’m a girl who looks for the unexpected, ventures uncharted territories, and leaves a trail. I’m hopping with this review you’ll follow me to this quaint Mediterranean Grill that I finally had a chance to check out. I don’t live in the area, but thank goodness for Groupon offering a deal for a meal! Before I bought it, I looked on Unilocal and saw that the restaurant had rave reviews already, so in my mind this Groupon was being offered to increase clientele. I have no problem with that, so I decided to buy! Unfortunately, the entire summer, the restaurant had limited hours and days of operation, so I failed to cash in on my Groupon as advertised. However, I was able to get any entrée of my choosing after the expiration date(still a deal)! I was little intimidated by the parking situation which includes a garage nearby and very few parking spaces in the shopping center. Luckily, I came after the lunch crowd hour and was able to squeeze into a space in front of the restaurant. The storefront is made of all glass, so I could see how clean and spotless the place was before I even entered(you kind of have to when your store is made of all glass). The menus are available right by the door, but the prices are displayed above the prep area where you order. In all honesty, $ 10 plus bucks for lunch everyday would be out of my budget if I worked in the area, but for a once in a while thrill, it’s worth the money. How about it’s worth the taste because the first bite into my classic gyro were like fireworks in my mouth! The bread was warm and soft with tender slices of seasoned lamb combined snuggled with fresh veggies and comforted with ample tzatziki sauce. I thought I wouldn’t finish the giant gyro, but my stomach was greedy. I devoured the gyro and was amused by the entrée wrapper which has various statements about Garbanzo’s food. The funniest one: «Right now, someone out there is eating a Bologna sandwich!» Absolutely hilarious! It’s funny because it’s true! Place is kept pristine and tidy with plenty of tables available. Nice restaurant to dine at with a small group of people(4 – 6). I would imagine the wait would be tragic when this place gets busy because you only have one assembly line to create all the Garbanzo Grub. Try the online ordering option if you’re just going to come and go and avoid the lines. By the way, this place has an eclub: Received my first eclub gift already for free grub with purchase. Looking forward to visiting again and getting my Garbanzo Grub on!

I got a Groupon for two at this place and decided to try it out with my boyfriend. We were definitely not disappointed; it was absolutely delicious! The staff was super friendly from the start and the process was simple. It’s essentially like a Mediterranean-style Chipotle. You get 5 options for the type of entrée(pita, plate, salad, gyro, wrap) and your choice of protein(chicken, steak, falafel, gyro meat, portobello mushrooms, or kebabs). Then you add as many sides as you’d like. My boyfriend ordered a gyro with steak and filled it with the works. He LOVED it. I got a chicken plate with tabbouleh, cucumber salad, hummus, and rice. I devoured it in no time at all. This is definitely a new favorite spot They have(homemade?) potato chips which were simple enough but absolutely delicious. I highly recommend getting them.

Stopped in here yesterday after work at the hospital(lots of health care workers come here for lunch) So this place is comparable to Chipotle but for Mediterranean/middle eastern food. You start off by picking either pita, a wrap, salad, or plate. I got the plate because I’m cool like that. Just kidding, the guy behind the counter recommended it because I’m a first timer. So I pop my Garbanzo’s cherry by getting a little bit of all the sides. They include: Babaganoush, hummus, cabbage, olives, rice, and feta cheese. There are also several sauces to choose from. Tzatziki(never spelled that right in my life), garlic sauce, hot chili sauce & I think cilantro or something. Now on to the meat. They call it PROTEIN. you have a choice of PROTEIN. Why not just call it meat? Because there’s Falafel as a choice as well. So my PROTEIN of Choice was Gyro meat. (A delicious mix of lamb and beef which if you haven’t tried you need to as soon as possible, & if you’ve tried it and don’t like it… I don’t fkn trust you as a person) PROTEINBRO! Anyways, the service was really good there’s a nice boy who looks like he has inner values plating the food, and a nice girl who I would definitely share my PROTEIN with any given lunch hour – working at the counter Food was good, not really an authentic Mediterranean taste, but Chipotle really isn’t authentic Mexico City burritos and tacos now is it? Yeah I know chipotle is Tex-Mex. So that would make this Medit – Tex? Idk whatever. Try the food, only reason they lose a star is because the meat was cold. I’ll be back.

Garbanzo is in Memorial City right next to Memorial City so must be super convenient for doctors, nurses, etc. it’s basically the Chipotle concept applied to Mediterranean food. Choose your protein, bread, sides, and sauces and voila here’s a quick meal. I went with the gyro meat plate with rice, pita bread, chips, and an assortment of sauces including tsaziki(I’m sure I butchered that one), green cilantro, and tahini. Of the three, the classic tsaziki was my favorite. The gyro meat was well-seasoned and juicy, comparable to any good gyro. I also appreciated that the pita bread was wheat to make it a bit healthier. This is definitely a spot where you can have a quick and good lunch or dinner. I also liked their messaging which was pretty funny. For example, in the restroom, they had a sign with a picture of a bean that said«if I had hands, I’d wash them. But I’m a bean.» Good work marketing folks!

This place is great! This is basically a Chipotle-style set-up, but for Mediterranean food. 1. Choose your type of meal(plate, wrap, salad, etc.) 2. Choose your protein(meat, chicken, skewers, falafel, etc.) 3. Choose your sides(hummus, baba ganoush, tabouleh, cucumber salad, etc.) 4. Choose a sauce(as few or as many as you like. I love sauces!) 5. Choose a drink(if you want) 6. Pay less than $ 10 for a super-filling meal! Both times I’ve been here, I’ve gotten the plate, which they(and I) recommend for first-timers. I was able to get all of the sides I wanted and pita bread with no extra charge, and I couldn’t nearly finish everything that was on my plate! Everything is pretty good… not earth-shatteringly good, but very tasty… not to mention guilt-free eating with their healthy options. PLUS, if you check in, you get falafel or house-made chips for free! Honestly, I thought both were just okay, but who doesn’t like free food? They also have a frequent membership card… buy 10 meals and the 11th is free or something like that. Located adjacent to Memorial Hermann and across the street from Memorial City Mall, I definitely see this as an after-church regular joint :) Well done GMG! Keep up the good work!

I had waited for this place to open for a long time. There is nothing Mediterranean about a wrap that looks and taste like a burrito. The salad was just a salad. The portions are so small that even my daughter can eat a plate for breakfast . Just because you serve hummus and falafel don’t call it a Mediterranean Grill!!!

Finally got a chance to try this place out. First off parking is terrible. Either valet or park in the garage. Don’t waste your time looking for a spot. Food is alright nothing special. Falafels are good, hummus not so much. The concept is cool. Pick your meal, either gyro, pita, wrap or salad. Then protein & finally veggies & sauce. Hot sauce is good, not very spicy, veggies are fresh which is a plus. Overall not a terrible place, but definitely not the best. Check it out for yourself & see.

It’s like the chipotle of Mediterranean food. Each item has a calorie count and is labeled gluten free/vegan/vegetarian. Excellent vegetarian options!
