I had been doing some research on floating after I had heard about it and all the benefits it has. I had a day off in Houston and decided to give it a try! It was a very relaxing setting and Michelle was a very nice professional host. The other reviews here give a really good description as to what to expect and I was not disappointed!

Since my friend showed me a floating experience from Good Mythical Morning, I was set on going for a float with said friend. There’s a summer sale now. $ 75(vs regular $ 120) for two people one hour. It was a good price and required little commitment(like the $ 99 for three one-hour floats)…so the sale was appealing for a first timer like me. I called many times during business hours and usually it went to voicemail. This was slightly frustrating, but the online portal is fully functional in booking and paying. I just prefer calling. Once booked, the email provided info for first time floaters and the residential address. We arrived twenty minutes early into a peaceful neighborhood. There was a car in front with the float Houston logo which helped reaffirm we were at the right house. There were many cats and even two bunnies relaxing on the driveway. They were friendly and unafraid. Maybe they too had a float? I’m allergic to cats so I just steered clear of them… and there were no problems. Rang the doorbell and Michelle greeted us. We signed some informational forms and Michelle gave us a quick tour of the bathroom and floating room. Fresh towels, bathrobes, shampoo/conditioner/soap, lotion, & Q-tips are provided. Next to the floating pod, a spray bottle of water in case you got some salt water in your eyes, swimming pool float tube segment to prop open the float pod door if you wanted more ventilation, and ear plugs. I was impressed at the thoughtfulness in all the supplies provided. The bathroom is connected to the float room, so once the bathroom door to the rest of the house is closed, you have complete privacy. We showered to get the salt off(remember to clean your ears) and entered the pics. Floating was a pleasant experience. Gentle classical music plays for the first five and last five minutes. My shoudlers floated above the water which was a bit uncomfortable at first… My mind would not shut down and I splashed around for a while. Then I drifted into sleep somehow. I woke up briefly before the music played, signalling the end of the float. I did get some salt water in my eyes and in my mouth, and it does not taste or feel good, so avoid that! We showered, got dressed, and met Michelle outside. Michelle was professional and friendly and provided a relaxing atmosphere throughout. Overall a curious experience that left me relaxed and calm. I’d do it again because now that I know what to expect, I feel I can get in the zone sooner and deeper and perhaps experience something new.

Super excited to meet Michelle and experience float therapy. I’m thinking I may like to try out a business like this when I move to California. In my area we do not have anything like it nearby. Hope to pick her brain along with getting a super relaxing experience much needed. If it is all I am imagining I can’t hardly wait! Michelle was super informative on the phone so I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me Now that I’ve visited Float Houston I can tell you it was a peaceful experience and I floated for 90 minutes. The only thing I didn’t like was that although I personally love cats I felt like I could smell the litter box and that smell always bothers me. It is beautifully decorated in the float room and seemed very clean. Michelle was very nice and a positive energy. I loved it!

From the first time I had heard about floating, I knew I had to try it. For starters, it helped a friend solve a business problem that’d been plaguing him for one year, and helped a friend of his end a bad marriage(which is why he went). I called ahead and got the address. As I started driving through the neighborhood I was like«this is in the suburbs, gurl.» Then I got to the location and I was like«this is is somebody house, girl.» And I was like«am I really gonna get naked at a stranger’s house and float in a soundproof tank?» Um yes. Yes I am. I had a fat knot in my shoulder that was hurting and have been super stressed out. So I was hoping for a bit of pain relief and to just tune out the drama for a while. I was shown the clean, pretty float room, with twinkle lights on the ceiling and shimmering fabric, pretty rug runners and robes everywhere. So nice. I was asked to shower first because I’m disreputable looking(just kidding, one must cleanse off products and scented stuff first) and the bathroom was clean and pleasant, I was impressed. I was shown how to light the little embryonic lights in the tank, should I need light, and was shown how to tuck a towel in the door if I needed an easy escape. Very thoughtful staff. Floating itself is very peaceful. You can’t NOT float, there’s so much Epsom salt in there. It felt wonderful to float and enjoy some down time. My muscles twitched a little from time to time and I did dream a bit. I showered afterward and next time I will bring my own cowash because my hair is curly and needs special thangs. I would totally recommend this place. The pricing is very reasonable, the staff are helpful, the experience is relaxing and cool, and it did help with my pain and stress quite a lot.

An isolation tank is a lightless, soundproof tank inside which subjects float in salt water at skin temperature. Sounds, feelings, thoughts, sensations, noises, your BODY is a distraction… you have to learn to let-go layer-by-layer as you delve deeper and deeper. Space, time and all perceptions are lost as you«float». It’s an amazing organic natural high. You walk away feeling energized, lighter and more vibrant. My first two sessions were for 90 mins and then my third was for 120 mins. YOUHAVENOSENSEOFTIMEWHILEYOU’REINTHETANK… after like 40 mins I usually slip into a different state of consciousness, I’m definitely not asleep but not awake either. I’m convinced that everyone should experience this once in their life… and thanks to Michelle and Float Houston Health and Wellness Center you can! Sessions are bought and scheduled online. Michelle, the owner, is soft spoken, super friendly and well informed. Every encounter with her has been a pleasant one! THISPLACEIS A MUSTTRY!!!

Ive been feeling extremely nauseated, headaches and dizzy this whole week due to my health medications and I havent found relief. We came here excited to see what this was about. The greeter and Jacob are very wonderful. We sign a paper and They explained everything to us then lead us to our room. There were two tanks with towels and earplugs. We showered then jumped into the tank. At first I tried to relax but felt distracted. I lay still and turn off the light. I could hear my bf getting antsy splashing around making whale noises in the other tank. Still I lay still and focus. I began to feel cold on top where the water didn’t submerge but it was nice to float in such little water effortlessly. I then start to have thoughts of some animals that came quickly as the go. My thoughts wander from things that happened in the past or today but I could not feel an emotion that came with it or even remember my last thought kind of like being in hypnosis. I noticed I felt warm but I could still hear my bf sloshing around then I just ignored everything and it was silent. I could just hear my heart beat. I then feel my tank moving and bf opens my tank door. He said it’s time to get up but I didn’t believe him. He showed me the time and it was an hour later to my disbelief it felt like I was only floating for 20mins. We were suppose to stay 90mins but my bf said he heard music playing but it was not the music from the tank, just music outside of our float room. Still I didn’t hear anything but washed up anyway. i am surprised that i had no ill feelings during my float. Overall experience was interesting. I would love for this place to have a facility of its own somewhere closer to our area. I wasnt sure if I felt much in the tank but I do feel more relaxed eversince getting home and time is just flying by and all of my headaches just disappeared. My body feels rested and at peace this moment so I am grateful for it. Bf says he didn’t enjoy it as much because it was hard for him to breathe, you can open the door a little for ventilation. We also think the towels can have a better smell than the smell of old bleach and the finger hanger creeped me out a bit. Still, I am satisfied and really hope to try this again once the new facility opens. My floating tip is to relax and not move too much or else you’ll start to bobble lol

My boyfriend bought me an hour of float time for my birthday. I have always wanted to try this, I was so excited! I received an email after the appointment was made with everything I could expect and dos and donts before coming. This was very helpful since I was a first time floater. It is located in a residential area. This didn’t bother me. The neighborhood is nice and in a nice area. The owner made me feel very comfortable and answered all of my questions. Floating was such a great experience. Very relaxing. The hour felt like five minutes. Afterwards I felt very heavy. Like I had overslept. I was so relaxed and the feeling lasted all day. I would recommend this to everyone. Only piece of advice I would give someone is to have someone drive you and pick you up. I found driving home very difficult! Almost like a drunk sensation. I will definitely be back.

This business is located at someone’s house in a not so great neighborhood. I bought this via Sweet Jack deal for my husband, but once we drove up to the person’s house, we were not comfortable with proceeding with the experience of floating in a pod(naked) in a stranger’s house. I was able to get a full refund from Sweet Jack, that was the only positive out of this experience.

I also bought a Goupon for float Houston. I’ve always wanted to do it but getting the groupon deal just pushed me over the edge. The experience itself was everything I expected and a little more. It cleared about a month’s worth of stress by going floating. Wonderful overall experience and my only regret is not having tried it before.

I bought a Groupon for Float Houston. I love trying new things out, and Groupon made it an affordable experience. On the Groupon it does not say that it is a residential business. I went back and looked after I booked my appointment over the phone. I guess she could hear by my tone that I wasn’t too thrilled to try out a business where you float in a tank, potentially in a birthday suit, in someone’s home. Creepy first came to mind. Michelle, the owner was very considerate and kind over the phone so I decided to go and try it out. I walked up to the door and knocked. Michelle answered the door with a friendly smile and greeting. The establishment smelt like incense, a very relaxing scent. She handed me a two pages to read and sign and then gave me a quick tour. After the short tour and instructions I was left alone. The bathroom that was extremely clean. You shower before hand to wash of any deodorant or oils on your skin. Shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided, as well as a fresh towel. There is a basket to put jewelry into along with wax earplugs to wear while you are floating. By the sink there is spray deodorant and hand lotion for afterwards. The bathroom connects to the float room so after you shower you can walk directly to the float tank and climb inside. The float room is pretty relaxing. Painted all blue, even the floor. Two tanks, one on each side. If you aren’t floating with another person then the other tank remains unoccupied during your time. You have the option to wear a swim suit or float in the nude. The Epsom salt kills anything that comes in contact with it and there is a filtration systems on it too. Soft music is played at the beginning to get you to relax. It comes back on at the end and that’s how you know that your time is up. You have the option to have the lights turned off or left on. They are very dim lights and you have the door on the tank closed. I opted to leave them on for my first float. The next float I will have them turned off. Inside of the tank is a large button on the side that turns on a red light by your feet, so if needed you have something. Floating in the tank was pretty amazing. I was having a totally stressful day before I got there. One of those emotional basketcase days. I thought while I was driving over there that I was not going to be able to let go. WRONG. As soon as hit the water after i closed the door I was at peace. I’m thinking it was the even pressure throughout your whole body. It was so peaceful inside. My mind silenced. It was such a neat feeling. I can swim and float. Because of the amount of Epsom salt, you bob like a cork and you don’t have to know how to swim or float to experience this form of relaxation. I pushed my arms towards the bottom of the tank and I could actually feel the resistance of the water pushing back on me. Very cool feeling. I enjoyed my me time. Excellent destresser. When my time was up, I got out, showered and got dressed. You aren’t rushed out the door. I took my time to get ready. Floating was an awesome experience. Next time I’m going to take a nap in it. Michelle was very professional and friendly. You have complete privacy while you are floating and getting ready. If you have always wanted to experience floating on the Dead Sea, come to Float Houston, it is pretty much the same thing and you don’t have to go across the world to enjoy it ;)

Five star for a Houston deprivation tank experience, 3.5 star compared to other float experiences. It is in a residence as was stated in every piece of literature, as well as the follow up email after booking online(so don’t let that sneak up on you). The hostess was courteous and helpful. I went with my girlfriend and we had a once in a lifetime experience.

My husband went here for a Float session, after much needed stress relief. He enjoyed the float in the tank, it helped him clear his mind and focus. The owner was friendly, and welcoming. The only issue is that, it is in someones home. Which is fine, except you are not really told that up front. And to call this a Heath and Wellness Center might be stretching it a little.
