Food was good but the manager here is a joke. Extremely rude to customers. It’s 30 mins before they close and manager gave a customer such a hard time…“oh here comes the rush…5 mins before we close” very unprofessional! Continues to yell across the restaurant at other employees about how rude customers are. As for my family and I sitting here having dinner I would care not to hear such inconsiderate comments. My family and I will never visit this establishment again. Please contact me for further details. Word of advice… y’all need a new manager! Upon leaving the manager asked if we were drinking tea. we said no and he said cause there was dirt in the tea. Just wanted a simple meal after a long hard day at work with my family. Appalled to say the least.

Great subs, always get a ham sandwich on white bread. Should be 5 stars definitely. I strongly recommend this sandwich place. Also not expensive

Rude and slow. Called to place an order when I left home. 15 mins later, I’m here and still on hold. No line or crowd. Women that answered the phone could’ve cared less. Don’t know why you even pay for a phone line. It’s a shame that employee ruins experience, the subs are actually very good, but I won’t be back.

This restaurant is friendly and serves awesome sandwiches! Their bread is really tasty and the meats are great. Also, I love that they have one of those Coke machines where you can get any kind of combination you like.

I ordered a meatball sub with no cheese and ended up getting a sub with cold cuts, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Im allergic to cheese and mayo doesnt agree with me either. When the lady handed me my sub she asked if I ordered the meatball sub without cheese. So she could have given me the wrong sub but then again she was the one who wrapped the sub. Weird… Anyway the people who work there are very nice I just doubt I’ll go back especially since they couldn’t have messed up my order any more than they did.

If you have eaten a sandwich from firehouse then you know, I’m of the opinion that this is the best sandwich shop in our city. The meat is always fresh tasting and steaming hot, a very substantial and filling sandwich. I order either the hook and ladder or the club. They serve a polish pickle spear with it and if you ask for an extra piece they won’t charge more for it. A well put together sandwich.

Outstanding subs, better rated sauces than the other places that I know of. The taste of the big subs will surprise you. At first, it looks really tempting and very much likable to eat. Not the ordinary subs that you have every day. A nice new place when it comes to subs for me. Great place.

This is my favorite sandwich shop around my office. And apparently, a lot of other folks too. It is always crowded around lunch time and parking can be a pain. This isn’t Subway, so don’t expect your sandwich in 60 seconds. But the payoff is worth it. The quality of the food is easily as good as what you would get from a sit down restaurant like Chili’s or BWW. If you have a little extra time for lunch, skip the drive thru and try them out. Side note, I went in after the Texans beat the Raiders and got my free sub, chips and drink for $ 3 and change. Can’t beat that with a stick!

We walked in with our Texans shirts to recieve a free sub the day after the Texans win when you buy chips and a drink. Upon walking in we got no welcome greeting. In fact the manager yelled at another employee to lock the doors so no one else would come in. Mind you the time was 8:25. Walking up to the counter we asked if the restaurant was still open and the manager was very rude saying«Yea, yea you’re here for the free sub… what do you want?» Being that it was my boyfriend and I’s first time at a firehouse, we both looked at each other in shock. It took me a minute to respond but I asked him if he was okay since he looked really pissed off. He replied that the free sub promotion was meant for regular customers who come every day and he had been on his feet for 8 hours. We both laughed and said maybe he needs to hire more help since he cant handle the work. With that being said we paid for our order and realized how dirty and messing the restaurant was. We didnt even get a greeting goodbye. The subs were decent but the managers treatment was dispicable. Honestly we had our hopes up about trying this place but will never be going back to this location. If your company cant handle a promotion then dont sign up or take it out on customers.

It is definitely a step up from Subway, but it isn’t super spectacular. I would give it 3 stars, but a bonus star comes from the fact that KIDSEATFREEONSUNDAYS! Awesome deal and my girls love coming here. All nutritional info is posted online. Suggestion: cut the mayo and cheese and switch to wheat — calorie count drops by around 300 calories!

Last Saturday I was out running errands with my kid. We were on our way back toward our house for Jimmy John’s, when noticed and decided to try Firehouse Subs. We figured we’d grab a quick take-out order to go meet his dad for lunch. As several others have mentioned, there’s no way of missing the theme here. Overkill, yes. But I don’t care what they plaster on the walls. I’m here to try a new place, get some food — in and out, right? We placed an order for 3 combos, and it came to $ 30. It’s a bit much for sandwiches, chips, and drinks. But if they’re really good, I’m fine with it. They have one of those fancy soda machines with a million choices. Kids love that shit. However, kids also love to scan through everything, discuss the pros and cons of each option, and then decide on peach-flavored Sprite mixed with berry-flavored Fanta to create a true ‘Diabetes in a Glass’ experience. Having this sort of machine caused a bit of a back-up. But whatever. They still have to make my sandwiches, so a little delay is fine. So my kid and I grab our drinks and stand at the counter. A long time here, and we decide to sit down at one of the empty tables. About half the place was empty, so we had our choice of places to settle in. And when I say settle in, I mean it. After 25 minutes, I started getting more antsy than my 7-year-old. I took him to go wait in the car so I could go back in and be That Crazy Lady who Goes Apeshit over Sandwiches. However, he followed me back in too soon for me to lose my cool. So we waited some more. When our order of a mere three sandwiches finally got wrapped up, we took our stuff and just left. He asked me if we were ever going back, to which I said something along the lines of, «I don’t care if this sandwich is made of unicorn meat. No sandwich is worth a 30-minute wait!» We finally met up with his dad to have our lunch, to which he was foot-tapping and stomach-growling at our extreme delay. Our sandwiches were fine, but the kid rejected his ham and cheese. He also now won’t stop making jokes about unicorn meat.(He thinks that means something’s gross, no matter how many times I explain the principles of supply and demand to him.) Every mention is an annoying reminder of that time I waited 30 freaking minutes and paid $ 30 for 3 sandwiches.

I tried this instead of my usual Subway. I got the medium cheesesteak combo. It was 8.97. I was not impressed. It needed more cheese and was dry. The drink cup was bigger than Subway which was nice, but I think I will just stick to my daily meal deal at subway for 5.64.

Since I am a sub enthusiast, I saw this place and decided to stop by. As soon as I walked in I was greeted(always a plus in my book). I had«The Engineer»(turkey with swiss cheese and mushrooms) and it was really tasty. Staff was friendly, and it was a nice«quick lunch» kind of spot. Will be returning soon!

My favorite sub shop… they give you plenty of meat compared to other sandwich shops. I always order the Club on a Sub… turkey, honey ham, and bacon fully loaded!

It was like Quiznos, just approximately 2 dollars more expensive. The concept is cute, but I will not be returning.

Excellent sandwich. Employees are young and need to be trained in basic customer service or just plain have a better attitude. This location had clean table tops, however the floor was filthy and the restroom was in absolutely horrible condition. Management needs to address these two areas and it will be 4 stars!

Finally got around to giving this place a try today. Firehouse has stiff competition in Houston with all the other restaurants like Potbelly’s, Whichwich, BrownBagDeli, and all of the other local and franchise deli’s. I like how their meat is steamed which keeps it nice and tasty and definitely moist. I had the club and the husband had the beef and cheddar with bbq sauce. The club was pretty tasty with honey ham and crispy bacon. The bread was a bit soft for my taste… I like my bread a little more toasted and crunchy on the outside. I do like how they have a huge line-up of hot sauces but it’s not enough to make this a great sandwich place. Pretty good sandwich, but with so many sandwich options around, this place doesn’t really stand out.

I’ve seen these guys pop-up around town and finally got a chance to drop in yesterday when we were pinched for time. The name should’ve tipped me off that it’s a fireman theme here. I didn’t give it too much thought I guess, bus yes – when you walk in you immediately read that the chain was founded by firemen. If the sign doesn’t help, the décor will drive the point home. Another cool thing about walking in, is the sizable display of hot sauce on the front counter. Quite the greeting! Their menu looks chain-like and the place is very chain, but I thought it was pretty decent – especially if you are on the run. Having Anthony Bordain on the television, also leaned me toward liking Firehouse. I grabbed the New York Steamer, which as their menu describes is, «Corned Beef Brisket and Pastrami, made famous by the Delicatessens of New York served hot with Provolone, Mayo, Mustard and Italian Dressing.» Yum! I got the smaller one and it wasn’t gigantic, which is nice. Others may beg to differ. My only beef with the sandwich is that the bread was very meh. It was a pretty decent hot sandwich – especially with this dreary March cold we’re having. What gives? The icing on the cake for me was sitting in front of a painting at this location and trying to figure out what was going on in the scene. So there’s a fire and firemen valiantly extinguishing this sizable safety threat. Sounds fitting no? This is Firehouse after all! What I couldn’t figure out was the lady and child, horseback heading away from the fire. Perhaps this building was a stable in disguise? But then why is there a small child, riding a bear? You heard me right. The child looks afraid and he should be – he’s on a bear! Anyway, get on your bear and ride on over to Firehouse if you’re avoiding Subway!
