When I used to travel I’d go to the facelogics(mostly in Illinois and Texas) I got suckered in to buying a package here as they said it would never expire and I knew I’d be back in the area again(I try to go on a somewhat regular basis) sadly when I went back. boom! Just like the 2 in Illinois did to me– they were gone! Closed down .took my money and membership and no return calls and then number disconnected. Please, they are a chain whose ethics I question. Please stay away. All the ones in Illinois are now closed down and my friends and I all lost our money :(

I had been going to this location for awhile, started out thanks to a Groupon, and found an AMAZING aesthetician, Kellie. I was SO disappointed when I called to set up an appointment the other day and found that it had closed suddenly. Fortunately, I was able to track Kelie down at Aesthetica Skin Spa on Shepherd. I highly recommend her — she is very personable, knowledgeable about skin care, and makes recommendations on what is best for your skin, not just trying to sell product. The number to the new place is 713−523−7546. I am so glad that I found her again — I am not exaggerating when I say that I was panicking that I might not find her!

I had been to the one on Shepherd and liked it so I decided to give this one a try. The facial I got was OK, the extractions were just too painful. I wish she would have been a little more gentle and at least given me breaks in between them. It felt like torture and my face was red for the remainder of the day. My nose bruised for a few days, I did tell her I had sensitive skin. It was my fault too for not getting a facial for over 6 months… I would recommend them, but make sure you discuss your pain threshold, because it gets intense in there. Go ahead and call me a cry baby if you want, but get a facial with extractions there first(with the same Hispanic lady I got and then we’ll talk. Next time I will definitely try a different person, mine may just have been a little too rough.

This was my first facial, I bought the groupon because I thought it would be nice to get one before my wedding. I was less than impressed. I told the lady that it was my first one and she could feel free to give me tips. She didn’t talk to me the whole time. I’m an intellectually curious person so I like to know whats going on, what she’s using, what it does and what I can do to better my skin. The first two questions I asked her I got a one word response so I stopped there. The only information she volunteered on her own was that I needed to use a new cleanser, mine wasn’t doing what it was supposed to do and ‘what was I doing that clogged my pores so bad?’. I had read about what to expect but this was not as relaxing as I hoped it would be. She did get awful chatty when I was walking out, she told me I needed to moisturize and that when she had massaged my arm that the lotion she used should have lasted 20 minutes and my skin drank it up too fast. She tried to sell me some exfoliant but every thing she said had a rude tone to it and I passed. I’m an active person, I’m athletic and I drink a lot of water. I know the importance of staying hydrated. I didn’t appreciate how she shrugged off my attempts at talking, condescendingly criticized my skin care habits, and then tried to sell me on some $ 40 product when I was walking out the door. I would not recommend this place and I won’t be going back.

i went back to use the last grouon voucher, and decided to do an add-on. i was debating between the eye quattro mask or the casmara mask, which is an algae peel off mask. the aesthetician, barbara, was really sweet, and suggested the casmara mask, because she said it worked very well, and you can even take it home to reuse it 2 more times. i was a little apprehensive, because peel off masks can be dangerous to your eyebrows and hairline. i don’t wanna look like someone attacked me with a shaver. but in the brochure, it said this mask was so gentle that you can even put it on directly over the eyes. interesting. there is a youtube video on it, and it says that it’s good to put it over the eyes, because it induces drainage and reduces puffiness around the eyes. i meant to stay conscious throughout the process, but i fell asleep, and when i woke up my face was slightly tingling, and so was the inside of my lips. the mask is like a goo that hardens into a gelly/rubbery substance that conforms to the shape of your face. she didn’t put the mask over my eyes(boo!), and some of it got into my mouth(great). anyway, my skin looked and felt great, and she was nice enough to put my «face» into a zip lock bag to take home to keep in the fridge to use 2 more times within the next day or so. i tried to buy this mask online, but you need to have a spa license, and i guess it would be kinda hard to put goo all over your face and neck evenly when your eyes are covered.

O. M. G. I had never had a facial before, and due to some suddenly appearing wrinkles and age spots(birthday in less than a month! AHH!!) I felt it was time to try out it. With help from groupons special, I checked it out and really enjoyed it. Facelogic is very relaxing– each person has their own little closet like room(closet-like is being kind…), dimly lit with relaxing music playing overhead. You sit in this amazingly huge, comfortable chair that leans back(uhm, why don’t they have chairs like this at the dentist? it was so comfortable. I would have bought one.) and they start working away at your face with all kinds of creams, warm water, hot towels. and I don’t like someone I don’t know touching me. But touch away, my friend, touch away. Downside? I could hear everyone next to me talking about their back acne and marital problems while I tried to relax. The closet rooms share a ceiling and closes with a small curtain. So I know all about the girl next to me’s issues. Fun(who doesn’t like to eavesdrop!!) but exhausting, all at the same time– someone get my closet neighbor a therapist for the Holidays.

This was my first facial and I only acted on it because of the groupon that was available for their signature facial(regular price $ 59). The lady that gave me a facial was Kelly, and I would recommend her to anyone who is going to this location because she’s been doing this for about 6 years and used to work for Bergamos Spa. She was awesome because she explained each process that she did including creams and methods that she applied. In addition to the signature facial, I also did an exfoliation treatment with the sea salt scrub for an additional $ 13. They massage your arms, hands, and shoulders and my favorite part was the hot steam they use to open up your pores… it felt so great, I actually fell asleep. Now I’m thinking I might need one of those machines for my house! They did try to sell me their monthly membership, but i refused and they were nice about it. Honestly, their services are great but its on the pricey side. Most facials go for about $ 59 and up and that’s if you’re a «member.» Btw, if you purchase a groupon, its only valid for new customers. Not returning ones.

Mmm, I feel like my visit was slightly less than A-OK, but there were a couple things that stood out for the better, so A-OK it is! First off — a hint. If you’re driving into this shopping center from the North, take a left when you enter. I went right, and for an out-of-towner, was overwhelmed by the amount of businesses there. Luckily, I made it just on time to my appointment. I came here with a Groupon, filled out a form as it was my first time there, and waited briefly for my aesthetician. As Jackie, mentioned, the facial rooms are a little weird. I kind of felt like I was going into a darkened hospital. Though it was overall peaceful, the visual effect was not great, and obviously sounds are not very well blocked. So…2 stars for ambience. At first, things went fine. After looking over my face, the aesthetician kind of put her hands over my ears and gave me her opinion, and it kind of sounded like she wanted to do a special facial that would cost more. I don’t know if the ear covering was a tactic to get more money without me knowing, but it did seem really odd and unnecessary. I didn’t ask for clarification(so any unresolved issue is my fault) as my acne has been coming back, and my self-image was hoping that maybe she could help my blemished face. The treatment was kind of weird, I forget the exact order of events but two parts stick out in my mind. First off, part of the treatment consisted of some crazy fizzy stuff which effervesced off my face. It felt a little toxic, but my mental image of the bubbles fizzing out the impurities in my face delighted me. She also did extractions. I admit, this is my second facial, so I have little room for comparison. I’ll just say how I felt — she was pretty rough. I feel like I have a decent tolerance for pain, but I can tell you I was screaming on the inside. Again, I should have spoken up — and again, I did not because I was dreaming of that unachievable perfect complexion. I felt like the massage portion of the facial lacked a bit in length, but it wasn’t bad. She let me know she was done, I dressed, and took my burning face out into the pleasant shop area in the front of the business. Indeed, my facial cost extra. The good news? When I got home, my nose pores looked pretty darn clean. Out of my two facials — this one was like boot camp. Rough, not so pretty, and tried my strength(and wallet), but saw some decent results. Oh — another little good thing, she suggested some products, but didn’t force them on me, saying that they were something to consider once my current ones ran out. I always appreciate suggestions without trying to make an immediate sale.

I had my first facial with facelogic with Lacy. She was very nice and excellent at extraction, which i love! I’ll def come back again. The facial was very relaxing and the chair was amazing.
