Express Grocery & Deli

It has a new name, I think its the Shopp now. The special changes every day for dinner. The food is amazing, they don’t make everything in large quantities. So your food is very fresh and at a good price. Ive tried many things here and there wasn’t anything I didn’t like. If she’s ever making pizza, I recommend buying two because you will be mad at yourself for buying one, Its that good, the best in town really. I recommend this place to anyone and if you work downtown you can grab a home cooked meal here. (well it seams like its home cooked). Its kind of hidden gem, but its in the corner of the same building of the Houston House Apartments.

This place «is what it is»…it’s a convenience store+deli+grill…and they make great burgers. I used to live in the same building, so I tried not to make a habit of eating there too often… or I’d weigh 800 pounds. The burgers aren’t HUGE and aren’t made from Kobe beef or anything… but they are made fresh when you order, and taste great… and are exactly the way I like a burger. Add some bacon and jalapenos when you really need a fix. French fries aren’t bad, either. They also make great monster breakfast tacos, as well as a full lunch and breakfast menu, as well as a large selection of fresh deli sandwiches. And since it’s a convenience store located in an apartment building, they’ve got a big selection of stuff that will save you a trip to the grocery store, which is a big plus when you live downtown… especially for an evening beer run. All the people that work in the Express Grocery & Deli are always very friendly, as well!
