Great park! I loved the access to the river for photos and the San Jac trail was nice but be warned that at least 2 miles of this trail is NOT in the woods, it gets very hot. The dogs are allowed on the river with a 4 – 6 ft leash, was a great way for them to cool off. We had a great time, just wish I had realized that the trail wasn’t completely shaded by trees. Was a fun find!

Fishing, picnic tables, kids’ jungle gym, hiking, birding, and borders a lake, which you can’t see from the road. Though a smaller pond IS near picnic tables and visible from your car. Lots of curvy, gentle hills for cyclists. FREE.

The weather is gorgeous, so time to search out new parks, new trails, places to ride your bike. Located near Humble, off BW8, this is located near Sheldon Lake Park, which is, also, a great park. Eisenhower Park has lots of unimproved nature trails, a playground, bathrooms, and a canoe launch. There are some picnic tables scattered around, but I didn’t see any BBQ pits. Also, the only water I saw was at the bathrooms, so bring your own. People were fishing, but I didn’t see that anyone had caught anything. There are many hiking trails of varying lengths, from .2 miles to 3.2 miles. The trails tend to cross, so you can lengthen or shorten your hikes. I downloaded the trail map from the Harris County Precinct One website. There was a noticeable lack of trash cans, so hopefully, Precinct 1 will step up and put some more trash cans in convenient location. P. S. There are lots of mature trees all over the park, so you can walk and ride your bike in the shade.
