I’ve been a patient of Dr. Friedman’s for almost two years. From laser treatments to line fillers, he is by far the best dermatologist I’ve ever been to – I’ve even gone as far as to call him an artist. Additionally, the staff is not only knowledgable and accommodating, they’re incredibly sweet and willing to go out of their way to make each patient feel comfortable (ask for Ashanti!). I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone looking for a first class dermatologist!

I also don’t understand the negative reviews. I have yet to experience any wait time, and he hasn’t shoved any product or procedure on me. When I told him I wanted fillers, he told me he’d only use 1 syringe, when other offices told me 2. I wanted lasers immediately, but he wanted to get my skin conditions under control first, and even referred me to an endocrinologist to get my hormones straightened out before anything else was done. He really cares about his patients. He’s also very understanding and answers every question you may have, without making you feel like you’re an inconvenience or your worries are undue. He takes time with you and never makes you feel rushed. Honestly, these traits are hard to come by.
Oh, and for anyone who’s been burned by an inexperienced laser technician, this is definitely the place to go to for help. I’ll update with pictures later in my treatment process.

I was referred to Dr. Friedman for MOHS surgery. I have a long history of skin cancer and have been to many dermatologists over the last 10 yrs. My experience with him and his staff has been superb. I was able to schedule an apt. within a very reasonable time frame. My consult was very informative and my actual procedure went very smoothly. His MAs were so personable I felt like I knew them by the end of my treatment plan. I really liked the fact that on my follow up visit both Dr. Friedman and his MAs remembered prior conversations we had had just about daily life and brought it back up. One concern I had was making it to my apt on time due to my profession. Dr. Friedman was very accommodating and told me he would work with my schedule. Although I was not there for cosmetic reasons, the questions I did ask were answered and information was given to me to take home. There wasn’t pressure put on me. All in all my experience with him and his staff was great. I even left with a complimentary signed edition of his published book on every thing you need to know about better skin. Thank you Dr. Friedman and staff.

Ranata is the hair removal specialist. She is great. I recommend it. If you have stray hairs in your back that are annoying this procedure is easy and feels like a massage.

Dr PAUL Friedman is an exceptional Md. I regret to see the poor reviews on here and had to research back and forth to make sure I am reviewing my same Doctor (it is a HE, not a she! as some reviews state below) so maybe these people are reviewing someone else in error on his site?! None of the negative makes sense (to me) — his office is ultra clean, equipment is state of the art and his staff is amazing!!! Ive never had to wait more than 5 – 10 min and even the time in with DR Friedman is efficient. HIs bedside manner is awesome and takes time to discuss all my questions and options. i never feel rushed! All of the staff– from the front office to the MA’s in prepping room– are nothing but smiles and is so refreshing, always there to assist. My appointments have never been messed up and they call, as well text, to give me kind reminders days before. I favor Ashanti (MA) because she knows me and my skin best from all my visits but all the MA’s usually pop their head in to say hello. They are all on top of their game and super knowledgeable as well sensitive to my needs and budget. I was referred to Dr Paul Friedman from a friend who has been seeing him few years for skin, Botox, fraxil and just about anything else. I started going to Dr Friedman about year and half ago for adult acne and after many visits to other top dermatologist in my home town (Chicago) DR Friedman is the only one that’s ever been able to help me. I tried Botox one time in Chicago and swore I would never again. Today, i don’t break out anymore and now that my skin is so fresh the scarring is more visible, fraxil indeed helped me! DR Friedman and Ashanti taught me how to properly take care of my skin. i do very light botox (he is conservative with the treatments and gives me what i need, not what his financial books want (unlike other doctors ive seen that over-​injected just to rack up the cost). Not he or anyone on his staff pushes products, they offer it and if you want it you can take it. In fact, he /​they will discourage products if he doesn’t feel it will work or is not right for me. I see him every 3mos and even though my budget isn’t huge I love the results so much I cut out other necessaries in my life to make sure I have enough to upkeep my treatments. (Skin is so important) I’ve never been happier with my face appearance and always walk out feeling beautiful and happy. i have recommended DR Friedman to a couple of friends and they are too going faithfully now to his office as well. One of them is a MD herself. I recommend DR Friedman 200pct ! My next treatment with Dr will be to remove a tattoo I got in my 20’s .and I can’t wait!!! I thought I would be wowed by this doctor but she told me everything I had already heard. I didn’t like the 40 $ copay or the 9 $ I had to pay just too park. And I have united healthcare.

I wish I had seen this on Unilocal earlier. Do your research first and look at all the options– which this shouldn’t be one. Was referred by another dermatologist. Bad referral.
I went here for a consultation ($ 200, but could be applied towards treatment) for tattoo removal and scar laser treatments.
— I came 15 mins early for my appointment time, waited 2 hours to actually see Dr. Friedman. There was only maybe 2 other patients? My total time at the office, 3 hours. Ridiculous.
— you have to pay to park in the garage (which should be comped by their clinic but it isn’t)
— Dr Friedman seems like he knows his stuff but just doesn’t seem like he genuinely cares about his patients.
— I have a very tiny scar on my face, the size of a dime, that I needed to get diminished. Costed me $ 500!

Dr. Friedman cares more about selling products and procedures than he does about delivering results. Dr. Friedman is a fraud and the only thing he is selling is snake oil… BUYER BEWARE!
After being told I was the perfect candidate for laser surgery I purchased a package. From day one, the entire process was a disaster. The nurses/​assistants he has in clinic are untrained. During every procedure the numbing cream was either not applied properly, so I would actually feel the laser on certain parts of my face, or the incorrect strength of numbing cream was used. The wait time was another issue, on each visit my average time in the office was 4 hours. The actual procedure didn’t take more than 15 or 20 minutes.
The little interaction with Dr. Friedman was the same each time. He would say, «wow, your skin looks great» and then follow-​up with «has anyone mentioned how good your skin looks» and finally «how are you doing on products». By the last visit, his disingenuous was repulsing. During my visits, I did try to express my concerns with the lack of result I was seeing, however, he would brush it off. His canned response was always the same. He told me wait to until all the sessions were finished and for a few months after as results would continue to improve up to 6 months.
Once again, on my last visit, I mentioned that I still had some brown spots and wanted to confirm they would disappear. He said that if I didn’t see an improvement in the brown spots to come back and he would use another type of laser to remove them. As I was leaving, the nurse came over and gave me a price sheet for the cost if I opted to come back and have the brown spots removed. I couldn’t believe it! Are you kidding me?! I just spent $ 7,000 to get rid of brown spots and now I am being told to come back and for several hundred dollars more he will get me all fixed up. It was at that point I realized Dr. Friedman is a fraud and the only thing he is selling is snake oil… BUYER BEWARE!

Dr Paul Friedman is an excellent medical and cosmetic dermatologist. He is knowledgeable and professional. He listens to you and respects your personal goals when it comes to facial cosmetic treatments. The office also has the capabilities to so ultherapy and coolsculpt, which are state of the art. They also have Fraxel laser treatments, which I had and was very happy with. The staff is also great and the products Dr Friedman recommends are wonderful. Great doctor. Great office.

Doctor Friedman can be a great doctor but his office is mess! The front desk constantly sends me alerts for the wrong appointment time. I always have to reschedule due to them not being in sync with each other or they mischarge me. That has happened twice!
The wait time is awful! one time they forgot about me completely almost 2 hours later! I was being numbed for a procedure and they forgot what room they had put me in to wait. I had to see what was going on!
Very few of the nurses seem to do there job well. Either because they don’t care or they just go through the motions of their duties.
This one nurse. Her name i believe was Ashliene. she is very crass. when she comes in I often have to remind her to do certain tasks before she leaves the room. Because it has hurt my treatments in the past because she doesn’t do her job correctly as far as making sure all areas are numb before treatment. Taking off and remarking the numbed areas for the doctors reference.
When I come in I always have to explain to the nurse what is being done today. They are not very good at communicating with each other about patients.
There really is not any point in complaining to their office since his wife is the one who handles complaints. I have talked to her before and she is very snappy and rude. I think they have gotten to the point where money is first and treatment of the clients come last.

Utilized him for several treatments. The treatments were successful, but the wait time, ego and general atmosphere were awful. On my last visit, I got the wrong treatment. As if that was bad enough, Dr. Friedman was in one of his bad moods (some days he was personable and friendly, others he was grumpy and snide) and was downright rude about it. Left and never went back! He is a talented Dr, but cares more about his PR, money and being busy than he does about his patients.

After a consult with a surgeon who was in equal parts dismissive and condescending, it occurred to me that technical proficiency and civility might not be mutually exclusive. I Googled «MOHS surgery» and booked a consult with Dr. Friedman. Both during the consult in his office and during the staged procedure, he was patient, considerate, and took the time to address my concerns without trivializing them. Extra credit points for his amazing staff. Each person there is a jewel. No matter how busy they are, they treat you as if you were their only patient. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
