Very disappointed experience on a weekend. I ordered a Gran Gold on the rocks. It arrived warm and tasted totally watered down. My food was good. I ordered tacos al carbon, one chicken and one beef. Two chicken tacos arrived. When waiter, who was very good, asked how everything was, I mentioned the lack of beef taco. He immediately brought a beef taco. My guest was very happy with her tuna salad. I will refrain from returning on weekends.

Best margarita in Houston. I have a preference for the location on W. Gray in Midtown… i love the crowd. However, when I can’t make it to Midtown, this location closer to me does fine as the menus are identical.

This is a Mexican Restaurant and I have eaten tacos and enchilada’s here, but their soup and salads keep me coming back. The Chicken Fajita Salad and the Mexican Chopped Salad are my favorites. The Poblano Pepper, Black Bean and Chicken Tortilla soup is definitely the best I’ve ever had. I’ve only been here for lunch and I can honestly say I’ve never had to wait to be seated. The lunch crowd is nice, but not too heavy. This is the perfect place for a casual lunch, a date, or a business meeting. The atmosphere is perfect for talking to each other. There’s also a full bar if you’re in need of that afternoon pick me up cocktail. The parking lot is occupied by other businesses, which have designated space markers, but I have discovered that you can park there as long as there is no tow information posted. Cyclone Anaya’s offers valet parking if you want that front door, curb service. Overall, the food is fantastic and I would definitely recommend coming here.

Shared a full order of the chicken fajita nachos. Each chip is individually coated with cheese, refried beans and chicken but they don’t give up much pick de Gallo on the side. They were perfectly average and the service was pretty slow today but the restaurant was not packed.

This place have some bad customer service. I had called in and the hostess was giving me attitude because I asked for how long the wait was. When it was my turn to get a table they told me I have to wait when I already waited for 30 minutes for my table to be ready. They made me wait in the cold. I asked for the manager and the manager David was not even polite at all and told me it was the policy that I have to wait for my table again. The waiter was pretty rude and walked away from me when I was not done placing my order. I would not recommend this place at all!

My family and I visited last night. We were disappointed with the guacamole as it had a brownish tint to it and lacked flavor. The chips and salsa were tasty. My husband was disappointed with his chicken enchiladas. I ordered the spinach enchiladas which proved to be delicious. The servings were not abundant and our waiter did a fair job. Oh, one more item; the margaritas are small, but pretty good.

Loved this place until today. The food is great, service is mediocre, but tolerable. Today we paid our bill($ 72 and change) but before I even left the restaurant Amex sent a notice that the establishment charged $ 86 dollars and change, which obviously makes no sense, before I had even tipped. The manager Daniela came over to help us, but instead seemed to make things worse. Of course, we were upset, but she basically tried to say we should«just go home and it would all be fine and we shouldn’t be charged the wrong amount, but if not we should come back…» Etc.(She mentioned this is a common problem she deals with.) We asked if she could call from the restaurant’s side and see what was going on. She refused to call American Express and help us with our situation. We made our own phone call on our side to discover this is not a policy of American Express like she had told us.(Perhaps she would have known that had she made that phone call we requested to find out what the deal was?) SO of course, she ended up calling for herself finally, and tells us it is not Amex but the server that they use to process their payment. What an unnecessary mess… I’m still not entirely sure I trust them, but I ended up voiding my payment and paying cash. Considering this is a «common problem,» according to *super rude and unhelpful* manager Daniela, I higly suggest all patrons check your credit card statements following going here and insist that you be charged that amount!(Not 20% extra) Something smells fishy here. I won’t ever be coming back but that’s mostly thanks to Daniela’s disregard and lack of ability or willingness to help.

Me and family celebrated my birthday here last night and everything was great. We were put into a more private area. Everything was set. Chips and salsa were tasty, we requested the La Crema Pinot noir and that was such a smooth wine, I would definitely drink it again. Overall great experience with the staff and Mexican food and everything was clean! I would recommend this location or the woodlands location. Cheers,

Not going to lie. I really like this place! I love the cheese enchilada plate with the skirt steak, I can’t think of the name right now. The ambiance is good, the margaritas are okay. I just like the food and I will always come back.

Early Sunday lunch all adult dishes served cold after a long wait. After discussing with waiter nothing was done. Later a waitress inquired and replaced with hot meal. Mostly Good food but unpredictable service.

The restaurant was probably 1⁄3 full and some how it takes 15 min to get a beer. Enrique was probably one of the worst waiters I have had in a very long time. It took him forever to do anything. I would be understanding if was packed, but it wasn’t. The only reason Cyclones gets a 3 star review is because the food is good. Usually the service was decent but tonight it was a train wreck.

Came here the other day with a friend of mine. It was not busy at all. We were seated right away, and as my friend went to the bathroom, the server came over. I ordered a mango Margarita and some waters. It took a decent amount of time to get that. Drinks were faat. The Margarita was not the best that I’ve had. It was full of mango syrup. Then our server disappeared. No joke. It had been LITERALLY15 minutes before he came to take our order. Had we not been in conversation we would have noticed sooner. But then, the food took 10 minutes to come out. While eating, the server checked on us one time. And he kind of peeked around the corner, kind of how your peek on a small child. Weird. Then, you guessed it, he disappeared again. Like damn, can we pay and leave? My friend gets up, and I shit you not, this dude is sitting down, eating a plate full of rice and something, watching tv. My friend starts laughing, and says, I feel like I’m interrupting him. So awkward. He brings the check then we have to wave him down AGAIN to come get the damn thing. I was waiting for someone to point out the hidden cameras. Lesson here: will not be going back. Not the friendliest staff, definitely not the most attentive. I would rather spend my money where it is appreciated. P. s. the beef quesadillas were ok. Chicken enchaladas were also ok. Sub par.

I’m amazed when I read all the negative reviews, because we’ve been regulars almost every Friday night at this particular location for at least 8 – 9 years, and find the food to be as good Tex-Mex as you’ll find in the city, with certain exceptions(fish tacos, for example). We have a favorite server(Gabby), so service is never an issue for us, but even when she’s not available, service is never a problem – prompt, accurate and courteous. The main reason for the update is to let Unilocalers know about our new discovery: Pozole, a pork and hominy soup/stew. It’s available on Friday at lunch, although occasionally there’s some left over for dinner on Friday nights. This is the most incredible authentic Mexican dish(Oaxacan region) you’ll find anywhere in Houston – hearty, spicy, filled with chunks of pork, lots of hominy, a peppery broth, a salsa verde(raw tomatillos?), sliced serranos, cabbage, onions, fresh limes, cilantro, jalapenos, and more, much of which you add to your own taste. The so-called«cup» is a small bowl($ 4), and the«bowl» is a meal in and of itself($ 7). We just wish they’d make it a regular menu item, available all the time. If you like spicy, authentic food, do yourself a favor and try this dish just once. My bet is that you’ll be back often just for this dish.

Horrible!!! This was the worst service I EVER received at a restaurant. They don’t even deserve one star. I should have know that it was going to be bad when the other location that is only a few miles away had a 2 hour wait on a Friday night and this location was empty. On 2 tables were seated when we walked in at 8pm. I thought me and my party of ten were lucky to get in and not have to wait. Oh… but then we waited 15 mins before anyone even came to our table and then they only took 4 orders at a time so by time most of us even got a coke we had been seated for 35 mins. And it got worst from there. Food took an hour, no refills and to top it off the waiter made us write down our own order because they wouldn’t slip the bill. REALLY!!! I Will Never Go To This location EVER!!!

I didn’t really like this place to begin with, but when I saw a rat in the restaurant, that’s when I knew I’d never be back. I met some friends here because they wanted to drink margaritas and eat Mexican food. The atmosphere is typical Tex-Mex restaurant with a bit more of an upscale décor and feel. Nothing overly special, but these restaurants are consistently busy and full. The menu has the typical Tex-Mex staples with some additional special items like their Lobster Enchiladas. Overall, I think the menu is interesting and is definitely very different from other places, but they charge too much for what you get in both portion and flavor. $ 10 for a bowl of soup? $ 25 for enchiladas? This might be ok if I felt like the flavors were amazing and just blow away other restaurants, but they don’t. I typically get the Ceviche which is okay, but I’ve had better for less money. Basically, it just comes down to the perception of my food isn’t on the same level as the price. Service at this location was okay. It took my waitress 3 trips to the bar to get my drink order correct. The first trip she came back and said they didn’t carry the beer I ordered, even though it was on the menu. The second trip, she came back with the wrong beer even after I pointed to the name of the beer on the menu, which she corrected in saying that she brought the correct beer and that I ordered a beer that had 2 lines of names. She was wrong. The third trip resulted in the correct beer. She glared at me with ire the rest of the night. I’m not trying to make her life harder, I just want what I ordered. After we paid our bill, which they were happy to split, a friend at the table said he saw a rat in the ceiling. We thought he was joking, but sure enough after watching where he had seen it for about 5 minutes, out pops this big rat face. This is so bad and it’s the reason this is a 1-star review and not a 2 – 3 star review. We told our waitress but she kind of brushed it off as nothing. When we left we hold the hostess and she said it was on ongoing problem. They offered to comp our meals, but it would have been more of a hassle than it’s worth since we already paid. Ugh! Never again.

Like many reviews have already stated, the prices are a little on the high side for the quality of the food. It’s not bad but also nothing to write home about. I tried the lobster tacos, and while definitely interesting I wish I had gone with a more straightforward pork or chicken. My wife had the Enchilas Anaya, which were good but on the sweet side, which was an odd flavor for enchiladas. We’ll hit this place a few more times to try different menu items, but I think it’s safe to say its your run of the mill tex-mex joint.

Okay, I admit my bias, I have a friend who works here. I trust his recommendations and he’s not steered me wrong yet. Tonight’s the Anaya’s Chicken breast. It had a chili sauce to go. with it that was not spicy enough to taste without overpowering the flavor of the chicken breast. I had a real desire for chocolate so I had chocolate cake for dessert(against my doctor’s instructions). It was moist and satisfying. Finally, I like the location. Parking is. convenient and they also have valet when the parking area does get full.

Pretty run of the mill Tex Mex food in my opinion. Went here for my girlfriends brothers girlfriends celebration dinner and food was tasty and service was on point. Chips and warm salsa is served and complimentary. Order a Jalisco margarita which was very delicious and I could tell they used fresh ingredients, not pre mix crap. Ordered chicken tacos el carbon which were good but not amazing. Decent sized portion. Overall a good place but I enjoy Guadalajara more…

I try not to be an asshole but I spent several years in the food industry so I always time the server in the beginning. This particular server was soo bad I decided to keep track of the whole meal: –I received my water 8 minutes after I was seated –I received our chips, salsa, and queso 11 minutes later –He came back 9 minutes later and took our alcohol and meal order –17 minutes later we received our margaritas –42 minutes after our initial order we received our food –it took us another 25 minutes to cash out after our meal –our waiter sucked donkey d-ck Other hiccups: –I ordered the beef enchiladas with sour cream sauce. Instead, I received Chile con Carne and was brought a side of sour cream. I was in a rush so I didn’t correct the order. –I was surprised by his dismay when I told him about the mistake and asked him to take the extra charge off. Food was so so, which is really all you can ask for when it comes to tex-mex. Definitely over priced when it comes to the atmosphere, service, and food quality. Waste of money and a waste of time
