Great food! Buffet style, everything was fresh and very tasty! I was also very impressed with the service, I was greeted and seated right away, fast refills on drinks and they bus the tables in a timely matter as well. I travel a lot and eat indian food often, this is a little Houston Gold mine!

One of the best Indian restaurants in the clear lake area. I have been to this restaurant several times. Chicken Biryani and Lamb Briyani are the must try dishes.

This place is always great! The portions are worth the money, and the service is extraordinary. I recommend the lamb chops and the tikka masala… heavenly!

This restaurant is an excellent place to get an authentic Indian meal prepared to your spice level. They also have an extensive bar. The staff is friendly and attentive, making this an ideal place for a low-key lunch or dinner with friends and colleagues. My personal favorite is the lamb vindaloo with saag paneer. Their buffet is limited in options but quite tasty.

I really love this place. I have been coming here for years and years. My kids don’t really care for it, though. But it’s a nice low key we can have a conversation and hear each other type of place. The curry with lamb is so good and tender. I love love the spicy items. The Malaysian pepper bbq chicken appetizer is soooo spicy but so tasty! Oh my it is spicy like make your nose run and mouth on fire spicy! But I love it! The vindaloo chicken is by far my favorite thing on the menu. Every time I order it the waiter always asks«are you sure? It’s very spicy.». yes I am sure! I love the spiciness of the vindaloo chicken. If you like cashews then the korma is for you. The cardamom and cashews blend and taste so well together. The only thing I wish was better was the rice the meals came with. It’s just plain white rice, not really basmati rice at all. After dinner, while y’all are walking out, make sure to grab a little fennel that they have by the entrance.

Not great for to go ordering. Overpriced and they don’t honor the menu details. Mango Laasi is so overpriced for the to go cup they put it in, and they don’t give you rice according to the menu. Their naan was also double the price of other Indian restaurants. Horrible experience.

By far the best Indian food I’ve had, not to mention pretty high-quality for a buffet. They have a big selection of food on the buffet and on the dinner menu. The buffet has everything, from salad to rice to several sides, meats and dessert. It was nearly impossible to try it all! Vegeterian and vegan friendly. The food was great. Not too heavy on the spices(like a lot of Indian can be) and very fresh and flavorful. The naan here was the best I’ve had. The only reason I’m giving four stars is for the service. It was rather slow for having our drinks filled and getting the check, plus I was charged for cokes when all we ordered were waters. Despite that, the amazing food at the buffet line was delicious and was always kept fresh and full. It was really busy at lunch, so expect a wait sometimes. Parking was difficult too. I would definitely return someday though.

After almost two weeks on the road with two carnivores, I was really craving Indian food. And this fit the bit. I ordered the Vegetarian special(came with a naan, malai kofta, palak dish, dal makhni, raita and peas pulav). Good value for money. Very tasty. Coming from a person of Indian origin. Take my word. Try this place. One thing though, we placed an order for gulab jamun(my son loves it) and they forgot it :(

I have only been to this place once in person and it was a long time ago, and I think before their new building. But I did just order takeout from the a couple of nights ago, when I was sick and didn’t want to cook and a good curry sounded like just the thing I needed to feel better. Yes, some people have chicken soup – I go for Curry. Nothing like some spices and a little heat to clear the sinuses and warm you up inside and the rice is filling. So we ordered the Viceroy Feast for well as an extra appetizer and some extra naan. First, I’ll say they really packed the to-go boxes nicely. They used plastic bowls with lids that were wrapped in saran wrap so they won’t spill on most of the items and then styrofoam with plastic lids. They got the order perfect, except for one item that was missing from the meal. We really weren’t that upset, as we got a lot of food, and I’m sure it was just one of those minor mistakes. Even though it was delivery, the food was still hot and fresh. There was a light mint and crunchy salad that they kept the components separate so the crunchy part didn’t get mushy. I really appreciated that! Everything had great flavor, except the tandoori chicken. It’s a shame that this chicken, which is bright red and looks like it should be so flavorful, ended up being quite a bit dry without a lot of flavor going beyond the first layer of the meat. The shrimp was sparse – they were quite greedy with the shrimp. The entire meal for two included four pieces of shrimp, when two of the entrees were supposed to have shrimp. So it was essentially 2 shrimp for each entrée, or else, one shrimp per person. And these aren’t huge prawns or anything. These were just normal, medium sized tail-on shrimp(with the tail having been removed for one of the meals). I don’t know anything about their buffet or the décor of the restaurant – though I do hope to go there in person soon, because the pictures of it look nice – so I can’t really write about that or talk about wheelchair accessibility(though, again, the pictures I’ve seen look really nice and like the ramp and interior would be easy for a wheelchair – and since the buffet pictures show that it’s open front(not a line or cafeteria style), it should be easy enough for a wheelchair to come up to the buffet. I’m not sure if it’s too high for someone in a chair though. It seems a bit high to me in the pictures. Honestly, they need a new website. The old 80s style buttons and the black background and it all bunched up in the middle – wow – needs some work! But there are some great pictures on the website and the full menu is available there. Overall, the prices are decent, and the food we had was quite flavorful. We’ll definitely eat there again when we’re craving this type of food.

Nice place for a family reunion. It was a wonderful experience. You’ll have wide range of variety to chose from. If you’re an Indian, you won’t like Vegetable Jalfreizy. Vegetable Biriyani was good. They also offer non-veg recipes and alcohol.

We returned to this restaurant six months after our last visit. it continues to be the best Indian restaurant in Texas(and most other places) as far as we are concerned. Outstanding main courses, superb masala chai, very tasty gujjarkahalwah.

The best Indian buffet I’ve ever been to! Everything at the buffet was good! I would recommend trying a little bit of everything and getting seconds of what you liked the most. Hot and fresh! Nothing was ever empty because they replace it as soon as the food gets low. The line moves extremely fast. I went during lunch and it was packed. The servers walk around filling water and serving HOTFRESH naan. That was the best. You can’t ever have too much naan. I would highly recommend Cuisine India if you are in the area. Service was great.

Seriously. This was a great experience and the food was so great. Masala, curry, aloo gobi and the dal were all tasty. And we brought a bunch of kids and the staff was really understanding!

As we settle into Houston we are on the search for restaurants to visit so we won’t be missing our old San Antonio haunts too much. Today… Indian! Once you’ve been to Bombay Hall in San Antonio, others have a high hurdle to get over. Since we came to dinner there is no buffet so we ordered the Viceroy Feast. This allowed us to sample a bit of everything. We had spinach and chicken pakora, tandoori chicken and shrimp, boti and resuming kebab, chicken tikka masala, shrimp curry, sang paneer, peas pullao, naan and kheer. They did not disappoint. A more formal setting than the home style of Bombay Hall. However the service was excellent with pleasant, smiling waiters making sure we were taken care of. Definitely a come back to restaurant. I’m anxiously awaiting our next visit to order some of what we missed this time around.

If you’re Indian, or you’ve had authentic Indian food, DONOTGOHERE. You will be disappointed no question about it. My roommate and I are of Indian descent and were craving Indian food since we both hadn’t been home in so long. Seeing as there are no Indian restaurants in Galveston, we decided to drive 45 minutes and go to Cuisine India because of its 4.5 stars. I ordered a mutter paneer(my usual at Indian restaurants) and it was truthfully the worst mutter paneer I’ve had. It was like a separation of flavors between the paneer and the curry sauce that it was in. The paneer tasted like plain paneer(completely flavorless) and the sauce was so bland(not rich or even slightly spicy/flavorful at all like Indian food should be). My friend ordered chili paneer and she said it was not comparable to any chili paneer she’s had before. The only thing that tasted as it should was the gulab jamun that we got for dessert. I mean, I’m the type of person that is excited to eat leftover after I go out to eat somewhere, and I just threw them away as soon as I got home. I don’t even know why I asked for a to go box. Our service was bad too. The waiter gave us an attitude at certain points and the whole experience was filled with spiteful remarks. I don’t know if you’re day was bad or something, but it’s not appropriate to take it out on your customers. I asked for a lemon for my water and he came back with a slice of a lime. The décor was nice, and it appeared to be much cleaner than the average Indian restaurant, so I’ll give it that much at least.

So when I was going to college I roomed with 2 Nepalese people. Not only are they my family and friends for a lifetime, they are some of the best cooks in the world. Fast forward to this time now, I went to this restaurant, and let me tell you… it’s like I never left home. It’s spot on the same cooking I used to have with my friends. This is by far the best restaurant of this cuisine in all of the Houston/outer Houston area. Trust me guys. I haven’t had momos(their version of steamed dumplings filled with chicken or vegetables) in nearly a decade. I ordered them here, and I swear it was the very same. So I tell you this, if you love to eat, love to eat indian, or love to try new cuisines, please do yourself a favor, stop in and order the Steamed Dumplings(momos), and one of these three: Chicken Masala, Lamb Vindaloo, or any one of the biryanis(the mixed rice with a meat or vegetable). This Nepalese place beats every other Indian place hands down. See for yourself!

Clear Lake has a surprisingly good number of delicious Indian restaurants. Cuisine of India and Mogul are two of the best ones, though I consider Cuisine of India to be friendlier to the average American palate(meaning: it’s less spicy). Definitely do the buffet first if you’re unfamiliar with Indian food. They usually have salads, tandoori chicken, several types of curry(beef, chicken, fish), and desserts so you can get your feet wet. My favorites here are usually the samosas and naan for appetizers(the naan is also perfect for dipping into your curry or masala sauce), and lamb or chicken biryani for entrees. For dessert, I usually like the gulab jamun, which looks like a fried cake ball in a light sweet sauce, and the besan burfi which looks like peanut brittle but tastes like sugary pistachios.

On a recent trip to the Houston area, I had the chance to return to one of the top-rated Indian restaurants in Clear Lake — Cuisine India. I had been there before and was looking forward to another authentically-prepared Indian dinner. On this particular visit, however, I thought things were just okay. As is common with many Indian restaurants, Cuisine India offers a lunch buffet, an opportunity to sample a variety of dishes. During dinner, however, you are limited to the menu. I had a hard time trying to narrow down my choices to just a few, so I opted for the Mixed Tandoori Grill, which promised the chef’s cuts of a variety of meats. I was at first wary of the term«chef’s cuts,» which is often code for«all the leftover meats no one else wanted,» but was relieved/surprised/delighted when the plate came with a mix of grilled chicken, tandoori lamb, shrimp, tandoori chicken, and a chicken roll. A lot of meat. It also came with a dinner salad and roti(with chutney!) and I added an order of naan and a small side of saag paneer, feeling particularly gluttonous on this night. I probably should have come during the lunch buffet. Salad: greens with carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, and a house dressing. More than what you would expect for a simple house salad. Naan: Very good. Warm blankets of joys. Roti: Light but a bit on the stale side. Very salty. Chutneys were very good. Grilled chicken: Very dry. Tasted like it had been sitting for a very long time. Chicken roll: A curious dish. A sort of chicken sausage with a dry, mush texture. Shrimp: Overcooked, with a strong flavor. Tandoori chicken: Very good. Nice char and flavor. Lamb: DELICIOUS! The highlight of the meal(can you tell?) If I had it all to do over again, I would’ve skipped the mixed grill and simply ordered a plate of lamb. Flavorful, moist, perfectly cooked. Saag Paneer: Ok. Nice flavor but much more saag than paneer. Would’ve preferred it the other way around. You know, because I’m healthy like that. Oh, and I washed it all down with a ginger lemonade. Cool, light, refreshing, but only a very slight hint of ginger(the reason I ordered it in the first place). All in all, I was satisfied(stuffed!!). In the future I would recommend the tandoori lamb with naan. Enjoy!
