Dr sims is absolutely wonderful! I’ve had to change Drs in the past due to not being comfortable or other problems. Dr sims made me feel very comfortable and help me understand everything before leaving me. Dr sims doesn’t make you feel like you’re at a doctors appointment. I really like the location because it’s close to my house and on my commute home from work. Checking in and doing stuff online was confusing at first but once you handle it a couple times its very user friendly. What I don’t like is the way I’m treated as a patient from some office staff. I’m spoken to rudely at times and it’s a little unprofessional. The customer service part is a huge part of my office visit since I only see dr sims while in a room I will be changing doctors shortly due to the frustration of scheduling along with some billing issues.

As far as patient interactions go, Dr. Sims is second to none. She is personable and has wonderful bedside manner. She explains everything in great detail and makes sure you understand exactly what she’s doing. She is also concerned with overall wellness and takes time to assess your general health along with gynecologic health. The patient portal makes communication easy and quick, and online scheduling is so convenient. My only complaint is that depending on the day of the week, she is located in different offices. The closest ones to me don’t line up with the days I have off and can visit. It would be so much easier if she limited herself to one or two locations. But I understand she can reach more clientele with more offices.

I was going to Dr. Sims office for a couple of years. I always enjoyed my visit regardless of my issue because Dr. Sims is a joy to speak with. She was always interested in how I was and how I was doing. She explained things very clearly and not once did I ever feel embarrassed or uneasy about speaking about an issue. The patient portal was annoying at first. My password would never work. I finally realized it was user error, :-). I then became comfortable with it and enjoyed it as an easy way to discuss things with the MA. What has prompted my 2 star review and has ended my relationship with Dr. Sims office is their billing. On two occasions when I was paying after my appointment and one occasion when I was making an appointment I was told I had an outstanding balance. The first time it was $ 40. I asked why and all the front desk receptionist could tell me was it was an outstanding balance I had to pay it. Since I enjoyed Dr. Sims I went ahead an paid it. A few months later when I was leaving after another appointment I was told I had an outstanding balance of $ 40. I stated no, I paid that last time I was here. The receptionist looked at some things and just said ok then it will just be your regular co-pay. Earlier this month I scheduled an appointment. A few days later I received a call from the receptionist stating that the appointment could not be confirmed until I paid an outstanding balance of $ 15. I told her I was at work and did not have anything on me at the time to pay. She called me a few days later to collect payment. Between those two phone calls I received emails that I needed to check my patient portal. I logged on and it showed I had a $ 15 balance due to an appointment I did not show up for in 2013. I had an appointment in March of 2014 and was not told anything about an unpaid balance. When I try to make an appointment in December of 2014 I am finally notified about an unpaid balance. When I paid the $ 15 over the phone I cancelled the appointment and told the receptionist I would no longer be going to Dr. Sims and I explained why. On December 26th, 2014 I received a certified letter from Dr. Sims office stating our medical relationship was done. I find it horribly sad that a doctor that was so compassionate in our office visits didn’t even try to contact me to talk to me about the issue or even apologize for delayed billing. I wonder if she even knew about it. This may be something her staff keeps from her. As much as I enjoyed Dr. Sims I will not continue going to appointments and paying balances that the billing department has failed to charge me in a timely manner or when the staff can’t ell me what I am being charged for.
