Crescendo Family Music Classes

The kids get to play with instruments during every class. There is new music every semester. Only downside is the commute for people who don’t live in the Heights.

Loving the class ! It’s hilarious that although my son can be quite quiet and shy in the class, he definitely really enjoys it. The evidence? He comes home and jumps around to the music on the CDs that came with the class. He is normally a shy boy but enjoys walking right up to Miss. Christi and watches her play the flute or sing. I know there are other classes that are closer to us as I have actually tried some out, but in my experience they haven’t measured up to this one. I also can tolerate and enjoy the music with him which is something special. Looking forward to meeting new friends and making music together. Thanks Christi!

My son attends these classes; I sometimes go with him. Christi is a warm and friendly presence in the classroom. She makes all the children welcome, keeps the class moving, and has a lot of musical talent.
As great as Christi is, though, the music program is also wonderful. We’ve been involved in this program since our son was 6 months old, back in Brooklyn, and the effect on him in terms of his musical awareness is amazing. At home, he bounces in rhythm to songs, hums bits of tunes he knows from class, makes some of the motions associated with the various songs he practices, dances, spins, and laughs when we turn the CD player on. Almost every day, I find him standing in front of the CD player, pointing insistently, saying «Music!». Although of course all kids like music, I think his particular love for it has a lot to do with the «music together» program of which Crescendo is part.
Pricing is fair, and the location gets us to visit the Heights, which we enjoy very much. Highly recommended.

I am so glad we found Crescendo Family Music and the Music Together Program. As a working mother I wanted to find something that my daughter and I could do together. I found a Saturday Music Class right in our back yard in the Heights. This was just the beginning. My daughter started classes when she was around 6 months old and over a year later we are still loving this class.
The instructor Miss Christi is wonderful with the kids and parents. This truely is a gem in the Heights and I highly recommend it.

My daughter and I started going to the Crescendo music classes this summer. The class is a fun and interactive way to get your child interested in music. The course is taught once per week and Christi (the instructor) is excellent at coordinating and maintaining the kids attention. As a parent, your participation is required and by that I don’t mean just your attendance. Parents are required to sing along and act as the child’s role model during class.
We sing and play instruments in class (some are classical instruments and some are more improvisational). The songs are excellent and are usually split into the song itself, using words, and then just the tempo of the song with a «ba ba ba» or a «la la la» instead of the words.
My daughter’s response to the class is pure delight! The night prior to the class I’ll tell her that we’re going and for the rest of the evening, she’ll repeat to me that «we’re going to muuusic class tomorrow!». Usually, the only thing she wants to do after going to music class, is go to music class again! We listen to the CDs (you get 2) in the car and play the music via itunes at home.
All in all, an excellent class and opportunity for you and your child to do something really fun together.
The only downside is that any time we’re playing music, my daughter insists on hearing «Christi Music» and will usually get a little upset if her demand isn’t met.

We had started with the Music Together program at my daughter’s so I was very happy to find a class to supplement. Christi is a great teacher and every class was different, which I loved. She makes sure we are all involved and not just with singing but dancing and playing the instruments. I also liked that it was not just moms but dads as well. We had a huge age range of kids so also good for families with multiple children. This is a great class for children of all ages.
