I have been a regular weekly customer for years and loved the SW Fwy loctaion, take guests there all the time… but over the past few months this location has gone down hill. New employees all the time, don’t act like they know the menu, get orders wrong, etc. this week was there for dinner and was told they no longer do pinini sandwiches… WHAT? the sandwich I got was the worst in my entire life. Sourdough bread was toasted as hard as a rock and the ham and cheese was ice cold. Are you kidding me? I’m going to try one more time and then that may be my last time. I have 35 – 40 people in my office who eat there and they are also noticing the negative change.

When I first walked in, the employees were goofing around. Sure, go ahead and laugh and have fun, but don’t do it when I’m standing there asking for someone to take my order. I’m not in the mood to repeat myself 3 times just because your employees keep distracting you. ANAHEIMSCRAMBLER– scrambled eggs with applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, green onions and cheddar cheese, topped with avocado with sides of breakfast potatoes and harvest toast The potatoes were a bit soggy, but the eggs were nicely cooked. It could’ve used a bit more seasoning, but it wasn’t bad. The tomatoes and cheddar cheese added some nice flavors to the egg. FRENCHTOASTANDEGGSWITHBACON– french toast served with warm vanilla maple syrup, scrambled eggs, and applewood smoked bacon. The eggs were overcooked so they were very dry. The bacon could’ve been crispier because it was very chewy and the french toast wasn’t very flavorful. It didn’t soak up any flavor so it just tasted like a toast. When I dipped the toast into the syrup, all you could taste was the syrup so it was very sweet. I’m sure I could find other breakfast joints around the area.

Cute big place. Came by for breakfast xmas eve before work. So the guy that took my order was nice. I ordered oats with bananas & side of bacon to go. He gave me a number and told me someone will bring me my food. So I went to the couch and sat down. 20 min later everyone got their food but me. How long does it take to make oats?! So I asked the staff and no one would look me in the eye and walked off. the guy that helped me just mumbled that the lady said she called my number. Uh no. I was sitting right there listening to everyone. Plus the lady was bringing customers their to go orders but left mine at the counter to get cold? Yeah… Came back a couple times later no issues. Then the most recent time, I Called in my order salad, 2 cold steel oats, cinnamon roll, iced latte, panini. It took 30 min for order to be ready. Notice only the panini had to be cooked. They forgot my meal again. I sat there and the manager and the girl at the counter kept asking what I ordered. After 30 min I blew up at the manager and they rushed to get my order out. Next meal and pastry the manager will be comped bc I was so pissed. Wow. Twice. Food is always good. Service is horrendous.

The problem with this particular visit was the customer service. I ordered online, got to the café — food wasn’t ready. Had to wait 20 minutes for my food. There were 10 people in line, and they all received their food before me. Received my food, drove back to work… chicken carbonara had no chicken.

Went for breakfast. After 20 mins waiting for my breakfast I decided to get a refund. I’m a regular but lately service has gone down the drain. Last week I order turkey panini and received one with ham. I don’t eat ham. I guess chick fil a is going to be my spot since they can’t get my order right.

Was there to pick up lunch. Witnessed an employee slice and handle the lemon pound cake with his bare hands and even dropped the slice on the counter before picking it up and boxing it for an order. Unsanitary food handling. Managers should intervene but rarely do not. Customers should keep an eye out as well.

J and John for starters are the best. J is so hospitable for a café. Everyone that walks in the door is a treasured guest to him that he greets and warmly chats with. He’s been especially helpful when I’ve ordered an off menu item the last few times I’ve come in. Some of the newer staff may not be familiar with it and tho it may not be his part of the job he packs it personally and makes sure my order is correct. I usually get the banana oatmeal(which I’m not usually a big fan of oatmeal, but here its great!), the hazelnut flavored coffee, and a pastry to go. The food, coffee, and customer service here is amazing!

Beautiful to sit on the patio. This café is a great spot for lunch & wifi. They have great desserts and they cater. They have great salads too.

I finally got the chance to see this place since I’ve passed by this bakery for a couple of years, eyeing it every time. Looking at the menu, my first thought was Panera. It sells pastries, warm food, and drinks. However, it is definitely more quiet and a bit less pricy in comparison to Panera. The pastries all look delectable. I had the pumpkin loaf bread and it is all freshly cut by the cashier. The pumpkin flavor is very prominent and not overly sweetened, unlike the starbucks Pumpkin Bread. I have yet to try their hot food, but from what I can tell it looks pretty good! Their hot green tea is extremely flavorful and is definitely one of the best brewed teas I’ve had in a while. The place is usually pretty quiet and dark but there are people studying the night away. It gets a bit chilly so bring a jacket and there’s free WiFi too!

Corner Bakery is very similar to Café Express in terms of menu items and price. I ordered a chicken pesto pasta, and I thought it was kind of blah. They used a lot of bread crumbs inside the pasta dish, so it had a weird texture —(I’m not a fan of breadcrumbs in pasta anyway so this was not a good way to begin). My coworkers pasta and my pasta were both just barely lukewarm… which does not make for a yummy pasta dish. Has potential, but I doubt we will return unless it is for breakfast goodies. Kind of bummed because this place is close to our office and we were hoping for a new spot to change it up a bit. I don’t think Corner Bakery is the place for us. I gave them 3 stars because the cashier was really friendly and their desserts looked amazing.

Relaxing, cool, quiet and comfortable. The food is good, the prices better than fair. This is a great place to nurse your hangover, or get away from your noisy office/hotel. Even though it’s a cavernous space, it feels intimate and quiet. Nothing special about the food, noting to complain about either. EDIT: Bumped this to 4 stars. It’s very clean, and the staff doesn’t care if you linger for an hour. Come here if you need a place to chill.

A nice place for breakfast in the West U area. I like to stop by here whenever I’m in the area. For breakfast the offerings are nice and the coffees are pretty decent. A quiet place to visit a friend or bring your laptop or iPad in to surf while enjoying a cup of coffee! Conveniently located off the freeway close to Kirby whenever you’re in the area check it out!

I’ve seen this place driving & past it but finally gave it a try today. I’m so glad I did! First of all when you walk in it’s extremely clean. The place is large but has the feel of a quiet quaint place, love it! I ordered the Ham & Pretzel sandwich with a side Caesar salad in substitute for the chips. The staff was very friendly & the food came out pretty quick! My sandwich was awesome. The bread tasted fresh & they don’t skimp on the meat. The side salad was really yummy too! I was not disappointed. Also, the hibiscus lemonade is a MUST in the Houston heat, refreshing. It is a little pricy for a sandwich shop but it’s a great lunch spot. I definitely want to try some of the baked goods next time they look sinfully good!

I may have overhyped this place to myself because every time I drive past it, I always think about how cute it looks so it must be good! I came with the bf for a Sunday brunch and it did not seem that busy which is kind of nice because that means no waiting. It’s a café so you order first, sit down, and they bring the food to you. I ordered a scrambler and it was just okay… We agreed that it seemed bland and tasteless. I subbed out bacon for sausage and I noticed they forgot to add the sausage, though I was probably too tired to care or say something. I also ordered a mocha and that was pretty good. However I have high hopes for this place, I would like to come back and try one of their lunches or even go and study here. It might be a perfect study spot since there’s free wifi, table availability, and ability to order coffee, treats, or even a meal here. What I ordered: — Anaheim scrambler subbed bacon for sausage with potatoes — Café mocha Pros: — Nice place to study — Available seating, not too crowded or busy Cons: — Breakfast is meh

I came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with my girlfriend. We liked that there was enough parking and that the place was not that busy and crowded. The atmosphere was nice, and we noticed a lot older crowd at this location. I like the fact that it’s a quick-and-easy place with a friendly staff to get a decent quality meal without spending too much money. I ordered the Garden Gate Scrambler w/Breakfast Potatoes on the side. It tasted kind of bland and didn’t taste as fresh as I expected, but it was not horrible. If the food tasted a bit better, I would have given it the full 5-stars. We will be back and hopefully find something better on the menu. Pros: –Seems to have lots of parking –Not too crowded –Quick and friendly service –Value Cons: –Food tasted okay

The Corner Bakery Café fit the bill when I was looking for a medium priced low effort place to get breakfast on a Houston layover. The menu includes lots of options from breakfast to dinner and has loads of baked goods. Bagels, cakes, cookies and a ton of baked goods. Also on the menu were a tempting selection of grilled and toasted sandwiches, fresh salads, soups and pasta. Being in the breakfast mood, I ordered the Farmers Scramble sub the hash browns for fruit and pancakes for toast. I added a medium coffee with free self service refills and the total with taxes came in under $ 12. I should qualify also the they do provide delivery but only for catering orders. All in all a good place to get some quality fare and not spend a lot of money.

This is a convenient,(relatively) quiet store in the Chain. The service is always good, and the food is pretty decent, especially for a quick breakfast, lunch, or cup of coffee. The staff is always nice. Good meeting place as well. I believe I can say that every Corner Bakery I’ve been to offers the same experience.

One of my favorite places to grab breakfast. The food includes basic breakfast food — eggs, bacon, pancakes and several breakfast pastries to tempt your sweet tooth. What makes the menu unique are the breakfast paninis and assorted oatmeals. If you’ve never had cold oatmeal you are missing something special. The Chilled Swiss Oatmeal is like the muesli they serve in Europe only better. It’s full of chopped apples, bananas and cranberries. But my absolute favorite oatmeal is the Berry Almond Swiss Oatmeal which is the Swiss Oatmeal with a ton of fresh strawberries and blueberries piled on and ringed with toasted almonds. Plenty of seating, self serve coffee refills and friendly staff that never rush you. Nice covered patio if you want to eat outside. And the take out pastries can make you the office hero if you take one of their pastry platters to your next meeting.

Definitivamente un lugar excelente para desayunar. No es para nada comida rápida, por el contrario todo se hace al momento. Los panecillos son una delicia y el personal es sumamente amable. Muy recomendable!

It is definitely a casual«morning coffee» kind of spot. There are a lot of businesses in the strip mall so sometimes parking is nonexistent. But if you time it right, you’ll be fine. There is a nice outside patio, but the niceness is volatile subject to oppressive heat, noise from the highway, lousy pop music blaring over the speakers, or people essentially shouting at each other in the parking lot to be heard over the highway traffic. Inside is much quieter. Coffee is solid if you are avoiding the Starbucks for a day or two. However they don’t have a drive thru so it involved parking and getting out of the car — this is my modern version of «walking five miles in the snow barefoot, uphill» etc.
