This pizza place is great for a family meal that everyone wants to eat but a bit classier. Candelari’s has a great selection of specialty pizzas that include great tasting meats and fresh ingredients. I will compliment the restaurant on their fantastic tiny crust. They also have a full bar which is great, and an array of beers and wines to choose from as well.

We sat down outside for lunch and the weather couldn’t have been better. My son is home visiting from the navy and I knew I had to bring him here, the pizzas are really great. There is only one server and we are outside, she has been really nice even though service is a bit lacking. Back deck needs much improvement its something they have let go buuuut, we started with the fried artichokes and wow! Very very delicious and perfectly cooked. We had the deep dish called the wrigley and a salad with prosciutto pears and candied almonds called san danielle, not too crazy about it, needs seasoning, but the pears, prosciutto and the walnuts compliment each other very well and the salad is very fresh. Son says theres is nothing wrong with the salad he loves it, so I guess its something open to interpretation lol. Manager brought out the pizza himself and served it for us, excellent touch. Pizza was amazing! Takes a while because its deep dish and original, the crust is fantastic, sauce sausage and fresh tomatoes on top, absolutely on point. Won me over. We come here because we live nearby but we will avoid other pizza places because we know we what we get here is delicious.

Conveniently located next door to my office makes it easy for me to snag a quick bite to eat any time of the day. The friendly staff makes me a returning customer!

Hands down, this is our favorite place for pizza in Houston. My fiancé and I always order the same thing: a large house salad and a pizza that’s half Autentica(Sauce, mozzarella, Italian sausage, and basil) and half Prosciutto e Rucula(Olive oil, taleggio, prosciutto and truffled arugula). I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. We come here about once a month for our pizza fix. On a side note, every time Houston has really bad weather(like all of the flooding we’ve had recently), this location is ALWAYS open even when no other restaurants are. Good job Candelaris!

We were just there for happy hour and ordered Gluten free veggie pizza. Thought it tasted good until my husband found a DEAD(FRIED) FLY on the crust while he was about to finish a slice. GROSS and just the thought of it makes me want to puke right now! We were seen by the manager and he apologized and offered if we wanted to order another one. We refused(of course!). The pizza was taken out of our bill but I think they could have made a better offer by not charging us anything at all! Well, the damage has been done — they just lost a regular customer and gained a bad review :(

This was a good unexpected spot. We had to look for a hostess who was at the bar chatting with a couple of the patrons but it was late and I guess they felt nobody else was coming in for the night. The restaurant was relatively slow and it smelled like wet floor mats inside. We sat outside where we were greeted in about six minutes. Our waitress looked a little frazzled and was very short with us. What do you want to drink, are you ready to order, And here’s your check. Not that big of a deal but didn’t make us feel very welcome at all. Not to mention there was a couple behind us were making out like teenagers but that has nothing to do with the restaurant. Just an interesting first time there. The saving grace: We had one of the woodfired pizzas and it was delicious. The Caesar salad was pretty standard but good and their house wine wasn’t bad. I feel like this would be a good place to go if you had just a little bit too much to drink and needed a good pizza. I don’t think I would go for any special occasions or a date night.

Try the King Mike’s pizza and sit out on the patio! This place has great pizza that you can customize. My favorite place in this area.

We order Candelari’s regularly for pizza delivery and have only had great experiences. Our favorites are the Papa Albert in deep dish and Wrigley. Always get our order within 45 minutes and tastes great! Don’t forget to take advantage of their buy one get one free on Mondays, we sure have!

Not very impressed. Came in and had a server named Isabella or Isella… kind of frumpy. We were given some complementary chips and ketchup while we waited for our other guests. We then ordered and got our apps, then a few mins later the salads and pizza all at one time. Mind you, our friend got his beer that he ordered after our meals were delivered, which he ordered prior to placing the entrée order. They started putting chairs up well before closing time and we felt rushed. Then they turned the lights off in one section and brought our check as we were eating dessert. We hadn’t touched the check presenter and our server asked if we were ready to pay… ugh, you will know when it’s time to get your check. The most sickening part was, our server came out of the restroom while our friend was in there. Our friend told us she(the server) came out of the restroom stall and didn’t wash her hands! How effing gross!!!

I have mixed feelings about this place. I called to get an status update because out order was supposed to be 45 – 60 minutes delivery. The lady on the phone wasn’t overly friendly or welcoming. Our Eat24 said our estimated time was 20 minutes over the 45 – 60 minutes. The pizza was good and I’d probably order again for the pizza I just wish they had more ingredients on it. I ordered the Margarita pizza. My husband ordered a $ 15 chicken dish which he wasn’t over all impressed with. He said it was good but he wouldn’t pay $ 15 again. The meal seemed simple and average. The delivery was made within the 60 min time frame. I’ll update when I try again

I’ve ordered from Candelari’s several times and the pizza is always pretty good when I want a non-NY style pie. But I’ve been consistently disappointed by the rest of the items. He bruschetta has been stale, the caprese has been soggy, the spinach has been cold. The lasagna was good. Last night I ordered my usual pizza but it was cold and chewy. I ordered garlic bread($ 4 for 5 thin slices) and it was cold, chewy, and stale. The mozzarella sticks were $ 8 for 5 average sized sticks(seriously?), they were overcooked and cold all the way through, which means the cheese was cold. If they’re going to have a $ 25 delivery minimum, the food had better be worth it. It wasn’t. I essentially spent $ 30 plus tip on an okay, cold pizza and cold bread and cold burnt cheese sticks. I used to work in pizza delivery. They seriously need to step it up, get better heating bags and better quality control.

We were at a bar down on Washington for a football game and were sadly disappointed in their free playoff fare. They had a taco truck too but it wasn’t open when we were hungry… so…pizza! I Unilocaled area pizza delivery for the area and Candelari’s came up. You can actually order it through the Unilocal app. Pay for it and have it brought to you in about 40 minutes! Freakin’ amazing! So this review is for their delivery service only. The delivery guy knew we were at a bar and brought plates and napkins and all the stuff we needed to enjoy our pie at the bar. They have 12 inch pizzas for about $ 17. Wings for $ 10 and all kinds of pastas and subs and salads. The online menu for delivery was pretty extensive. Nice to have options beyond pizza from an Italian place. Wife wanted garlic wings. They were HUGE. She gobbled them down and rated them“tasty”. A very nice serving size for $ 10. A hundred times better than those wings from Pizza Hut. We got a 12″ Papa Albert — Italian sausage, black olives, pepperoni, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and green olive. Very thin crust, zesty sauce, loaded with toppings. Sausage was really good! There’s gluten free, deep dish and 5 grain crust options. This pizza was very good. Quick friendly delivery. If the thin crust had held up a little better through the delivery and under the weight of the toppings this could be a 5 star place. But I will certainly remember them for another hungry football game at a club. Three locations.

Went on a date here last night. Great cozy place. Will be a favorite for sure. Pizza was great — I recommend the«gunslinger». Our waiter was very attentive too. Saw there is happy hour during the week 3−6pm…will return! :)

Drop by last night after hanging out with some friends. Though they were close to closing time, they invited us in with smiles. The décor provides a very relaxed feeling and the aroma of the meals being prepped filled the air. I ordered the caprese appitizer and penne rustica & I was not disappointed! The mozzerella & tomatoes used for the caprese were soooo fresh and cut nice and thick. Very tasty balsamic vinegrette. That penne rustica was killer… and so much of it that I had left overs for lunch today! Pasta perfectly cooked and the sausage in the dish was very flavorful. Nice size portions. Wish I could remember our waiters name because he was great! No «it’s time for me to go, why are you here» attitude. He’s actually the one who suggested the penne rustica & he was dead on. He came to check on us, refill waters, enough without seeming as though he was rushing us to go. In all this was a great experience a nd I will be back to give them another go.

Sadly Candelari’s has disappointed my husband and I this time around that we ordered delivery. I ordered the polpette pizza on 5-grain crust, received a VERY soggy WHITE crust pizza… had to fold it over to eat it, taste was not great either. I tried putting it in the over to toast it, hoping it will taste better. My husband ordered a lasagna, he claims it was good. The two pieces of very sad bread that came with his lasagne were hard as rocks. I don’t know if they were just having a very busy night, which is understandable, it just sucks to be excited and expect one thing but get something not-so-exciting or tasty! Just make sure you specify on how you want things over the phone when you place an order, only way I see that these mistakes can be prevented!

To-go order Review: I never have really high hopes when ordering a pizza to-go but Caldelari’s pleasantly surprised me! We had the Diavolo Rossonero and although it was a bit small for the price(compared to other pizza places in Houston) it had the perfect amount of sauce, toppings and flavor. I also like that they use EAT24 and accept online orders.

Quality and customer service has gone down hill. Second week in a row that our pizza was burnt and had to wait another 20 min for them to remake. Manager tried to argue that it was not burned that the cheese was just a little dark. She refused to comp it!!! Sad that they treat their regulars like this. May be our last time here :(

I love Candelaris! The T-Rex pizza is my favorite pizza ever(and I LOVE pizza). It is a meat lovers dream come true! Service has always been good when we have dined in. Had dinner here Friday night and although it was busy and the parking lot was full, we were seated right away. This time I decided to try their lasagna. The portion size was perfect and I pretty much scraped my plate clean!

This review is purely for lunch buffets and a few of the specialty pizzas. I’ve never dealt with their table service nor personally ordered delivery(we had it at the office), although they do run the same«50% off delivery» special that Papa John’s has when the Texans win.(Ha.) Candelari’s feels like you’re eating in someone’s super-cute house, and the lunch buffet is one of the most varied that I’ve seen. There are always 2 types of pastas(usually one alfredo based and one tomato, both with a meat), wings, soup, great Caesar salad, and a selection of 5 – 8 pizzas at any given time. The pastas are actually one of my favorite things on the line. The pizza buffet itself isn’t all that large, but there’s always been enough variety for me. As with any buffet, you have to time it correctly to get the hottest, freshest pizza… I recommend sitting in the line-of-sight. The specialty pizzas are delicious, but expensive($ 18 for a 12″ thick crust pizza). My favorite is the T-Rex, but I don’t think this would be my pick for delivery just based on price alone. Candelari’s seems to run a lunch buffet Groupon all the time, so it can be a superb value. For dinner… I’m not so sure.
