Café Monsoon Wine & Curry Grill The décor in this place exubes a formal atmosphere. There are cloth napkins, linen tableclothes, and the presentation and detail of the restaurant is impeccable. And so is the food. I came here for the lunch buffet which is a pretty good deal. It is approximately $ 10. There is also a menu you can order out of as well. Normally I’m not a big fan of Indian cuisine considering that I don’t have a spicy tongue for it. But luckily for me, there is a small cook station where you could request some kind of food to be less spicy. Many of the food here also find themselves on the border of «fusion» as there are Indian-styled enchiladas which I’ve heard are very good. Naan, the Indian bread, is baked fresh here. Some of my favorites at this place are: Lobster and mash potato parfait; chicken tikka masala; pakoras; shrimp biryani; saag paneer(creamed spinach); and some kind of Indian-styled shrimp risotto(cooked in creamy coconut curry) all were fabulous. *Side note: This place will definitely qualify to be a romantic dining spot even though it’s in the far west Houston scene in a rather plain looking strip mall.
