True hole in the wall restaurant. Been coming here for years. Bulgogi burger is delicious. Salad bar always fresh. Everything is made to order. My husband loves coming here.

Ordered bacon cheese burger. The bacon was cooked so hard it looked like chicken crust I had to take it off. My bread was toasted too hard on the edges I couldn’t eat it all. They gave me a number and didn’t call it they just yelled at me «miss!» And pointed towards my food on the counter top smh!(This was after she was sitting in her chair already) The food taste ok, I love the location on Gessner best! I will not go to this location ever again…

Seriously one of the juiciest burgers I’ve had. So much flavor and the buns are amazing! So fluffy that they hold in the juices. Recommend this place!

Best burger joint in town. I honestly have no complaints here. I will be returning with friends to help share the word. The fresh condiment/topping bar is where they shine! Not charging extra for all the fixings and even queso goes a long way!

I’ve been coming here for lunch for about 2 years. I’m writing this review as they stopped serving bulgogi burgers at lunch time. You will now have to wait till after 1 pm till they serve it again. As such, there burgers are alright and not worth the $ 8 combo price.

Just got my take out lunch order from there for the first time about 4 hours ago. The burger was delicious and with fries and a drink, was really worth the price, under $ 10. The service was as fast as it could be for a smaller mom and pop type joint but given that I work, literally a mile down the road that wasn’t a big deal for me. Good food, I’ll be visiting again soon and would recommend it to anyone reading this review.

Pretty busy, steady traffic in and out. Made me feel like we made a OK choice. Food was fresh and fries hot! I rather spend 40 here any day than 40 at those other chain places. The little dives are usually worth it… and it was!!!

Best bacon burger ever. The owners are sweet and totally make this burger tex unique. I drenched my fires and my burger in nacho cheese, really couldn’t have any other way. Overall this location is very clean and I have always had a pleasant dining experience. Also, it right down the street from my place. Every time I swing by I always find myself asking why I don’t come more often.

Pretty decent cheeseburger good flavor loved the toasted buns. Crinkle fries are of normal store bought variety. U can and your condiments and veggies for a Togo orders. Overall good. Better than any fast food cheeseburger

I saw so many good reviews I decided to give it another chance. The burger was horrible, but I would not have been able to eat it anyways. The employees had CNN on and they were graphically discussing the symptoms of Ebola. I asked them to either turn off the sound or change the channel 2 times and they refused. I can not eat while the consistency of vomitus is being discussed full volume.

I knew about this place thru my co worker and recommended me to try their burgers it’s a mom and pop operation but it’s ok this is my type of restaurant I like I ordered the #1 combo meal wich includes burger, fries and a drink they write your order number on your cup the burgers are great and juicy and taste awesome they use a soft burger bun wich they add butter and let it sit on the grill and the fries perfectly salted and they are fresh I love this place and I go eat here whenever I get the chance

I don’t want none unless you got buns, hun… buns like the ones from Burger Tex, that is. Hamburger buns are often overlooked because they’re usually not that great – they’re typically either dry, hard, or stale. The buns at Burger Tex, however, are amazingly fluffy, light, and hearty at the same time. The best thing is that they’re perfectly buttered and toasted to a crisp at Burger Tex. I am a huge fan of attention to detail and these buns definitely have plenty of TLC. I have only ever tried the bulgogi(Korean bbq) burger – why get anything else when I know I have an original and delicious fusion burger here in the heart of NW Houston? The reason this isn’t a 5 star joint is because the condiment bar doesn’t seem super sanitary. I love that it’s an unlimited bar of toppings and the ever elusive melted cheese, but the lettuce is usually soaking wet and there were a few uninvited flying friends around the condiment area when I visited. Don’t let this deter you from coming to Burger Tex, though. I am a self-proclaimed germaphobe and you won’t be able to keep me away despite the pesky insects. Try the bulgogi burger, you won’t regret it!

I don’t know guys. I don’t get the rave reviews. It’s not a horrible burger, but it’s not all that and a bag of chips either. I mean, typical greasy spoon stuff, I’d put it on par with the Waffle House. That’s not to say it’s bad for what it is, but… It’s not 4 stars. Tookie’s is 4 stars, the Shack is 4 stars… Burger Tex? 2.5 at best, 3 on a good day — today was NOT a good day. I mean, don’t get me wrong. It’s typical. It’s not BAD, it’s not McDonalds or Burger King. But it’s certainly not the gourmet burger folk here are making it out to be. I mean, really, service was great. They had a heckuva production line going on and before I could sit they had my meal ready. I ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger with ½ Fries/O-Rings. The condiment bar was more than adequate, it was quite nice, but nothing to write home about. Oh, and those of you raving about the canned cheese sauce… uh… really??? I really don’t get it. The burger was pretty basic. I can’t think of anything particularly outstanding about it. One point for them, the bacon was CRISP, something that even the Shack doesn’t seem to understand… wimp, limpy bacon is BAD. The fries were from a bag, which isn’t necessarily bad either, but it certainly doesn’t rate 4 stars. The onion rings… well… I gotta ding them on the O-rings… right size, but the breading is weird and it was somewhat overcooked. Also, it was cooked in the same oil that the fish is fried in… thus lending the rings a taste of fish. That’s a major culinary faux pas. Fish flavored rings are just BAD. As a lunch joint, if I had to choose between fast food and Burger Tex, I’ll take Burger Tex. But«Best Burger in Houston?» I beg to differ, they aren’t even in the same neighborhood as the Best Burger in Houston.

Stopped by for a burger yesterday after reading other reviews from Unilocal. When I pulled up, I immediately noticed the FULL parking lot. This already had me thinking that I made the right choice by stopping by. I went in and ordered a special which was a 6 oz bacon cheese burger with fries and a drink for around 8 bucks. The wait time was minimal. After I got my burger, I went to the condiment bar and loaded up with the regular fixings and nacho cheese! Anyway, I went and sat back down. When I took my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the burger, but even more so with the bun. Holy bat buns — this thing was light as a feather, fluffy, hot and it made the burger even better. So, would I come back? Absolutely

In my never ending search for a new place that serves aswesome, yummy, juicy burgers, I came across this place in the NW side of town. The first time I ever drove by this place, I didn’t think much of it, but then as a good Unilocalologist, I had too look it up, right? I gazed upon the words, «Bulgogi Burger» and the next thing I knew I got hungry. «I’ve got to try this place!» I said to myself. Well, the day came when I decided to come here and although the place looks pretty run down from the outside, it’s clean on the inside. I placed my order for the Bulgogi Buger with cheese and I made it a combo. The total came to around $ 10 and change. Not too shabby. So I waited a good 10 minutes before my burger actually came out. Pretty reasonable wait time. So when my burger came out, I went to the condiments bar where they had different, well, condiments. You have your tomatoes, onion, pickles, mayo, mustard, etc. Anyway, I put whatever I wanted on my burger and now it’s go time! The Bulgogi burger was awesome. Yes, it’s a bit sweet but it’s still really good. The homemade bun was just alright, I think. And then I saw the crinkle-cut fries that came with the combo and I bit into it; and I was kind of disappointed because it tasted like fries that came out of the frozen section of your local grocery store. They were probably fries that came out of the frozen section of your local grocery store. Booo! I would definitely go back for the Bulgogi burger. And I still want to try their regular burger. But unless they start serving fries that are fresh or don’t taste like frozen fries, then I can’t bump up the rating. Too bad!
