Well it was close to our hotel, and has good reviews, so we walked over ! The place must be for lunch, as we were the only ones there ! We got our order to go and walked back to the hotel, I will not eat here again when in the area !!! Greasy under done meat, soggy and greasy

Best burgers ever for me! Truffle fries… wonderful! I’d return again and again and have already recommended it to some who have now been and agree.

I came here on a Friday evening for dinner. My friend and I split the toasted almond shake, Texas burger, and fries for ~$ 20 total. It was the perfect amount of food for two people. The burger was super juicy and a little more raw than requested, but very tasty. I liked that the bacon was crisp, and they put just the slightest amount of mustard so it wasn’t overpowering. Their homemade aioli was very garlicky and smooth… yum! They gave us Parmesan fries instead of the sea salted ones, but they were pretty tasty. I’d still want the regular ones though, because I prefer them simple. The shake was really nice… definitely had more of an almond taste, whereas I had been expecting amaretto flavor. As soon as we finished the meal, my first thought was… when can I come back? Now, I totally get that service can lack. The restaurant was pretty empty and our waiter was more distracted than attentive. However, the food was tasty enough to compensate for the slow but tolerable service.

Service is slow but burgers are delicious! Had to wait for all things related to service. Prices are fair.

LOVE the burgers and fries here but the service is generally always slow. 5 stars for food. 2 – 3 stars for service. Don’t go at lunch time if you need to get out in a reasonable amount of time!

Burgers are amazing! Parmesan truffle fries are delicious. The service can be a little slow, but the food makes up for it.

**This review is based on take out** First of all, let me start off by saying… OMGTHETRUFFLEFRIES!!! They are amazing. I called the restaurant and ordered some burgers to go. I was told they will be ready in 10 mins. I show up there exactly on time, and the cook just finished putting them in a bag for me, so that was a plus. I ordered one French Connection and one Napa Valley. The Napa Valley was okay, good flavor but not something extra ordinary. The French Connection on the other hand was super. I would definitely get that again. Like I mentioned before I got a side of truffle fries and to my surprise the portion was big which is AWESOME and fries were so good! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the flavor just takes over your taste buds. I’ve had plenty of truffle fries in my day but this is hands down my favorite so far. Well I wouldn’t know about service because take out doesn’t really count but the lady that was at the counter was pretty nice, but then again I spoke to her for a second.

First time here … Nice place for a burger joint . Service is excellent(I never had to ask for my drink to get refilled) . For those that love siracha sauce order the spicy Vietnamese burger(it’s delicious) And the fries tossed with Parmesan & Rosemary are some of the best I’ve had. Def coming back again

here we go, my first Unilocal review ever… In Houston for work and found this place right by my hotel. First Impressions: 4* Nice décor, clean and very trendy type feel. Music style was perfect(don’t ask me what it was, I just know it was the right Vibe for the place) Service: 3* Aahhh any restaurant’s biggest nemesis is how the waitstaff handles all aspects. A bit of an oops here tonight. Greeted with«just sit over there». Well okay then… So let’s not digress just yet, a hiccup is workable. But wait it wasn’t a hiccup! She took my drink order promptly which was great. Once i had said adult beverage in hand she took my meal order… wait for it… another hiccup is in the works. After about 15 minutes she comes back and says now what did you order… Once that was resolved and added another beverage to the mix off we go. Food: 4* So I ordered 3 items and couldn’t even come close to eating it all. I had the«Texas Burger» Medium Rare, which was quite tasty. The Onion Rings ordered were home made which should be a plus… but alas not this time. Heavy on batter and light on Onion and Flavor. Not a good combo in the end. Fries were hot and crispy. Not homemade, but quite good. Overall: Tough Call here, but I’ll go with 4 Stars(since I can’t give halves). UnilocalOn…

Great burgers — tried the French connection which was a great unexpected combination. My boyfriend had the blue cheese burger which I ended up liking better but I love blue cheese. Get the truffle fries with parmesan those are absolutely amazing! The shakes were ok. The owner was super friendly service was a bit slow but definitely worth the wait

The burger and fries are here are so delicious and flavorful, so I really like their choices in burger making choices/skills, especially their Swiss Alps and French Connection ones! Those are the best ones, in my opinion. They use Kobe beef which is super delicious! Be warned though, I don’t think they have a lot of staffs on hand so the service was slow. We waited for about 45 mins for our burgers to arrive and about 10 mins for the drinks. We didn’t really mind the wait though we did wish they were a little faster with their service. Besides that, everything else is excellent. Hope the service speed improves in the future, because I really want to come back to enjoy their selections again.

Modern and cozy environment with delicious burgers. The beef is super juicy and tender and the flavor selections are unique. Pulled pork dumplings and truffle fries are a must!

Mint Limeade. Sweet Potatoe Fries & an Italian Job(I think it’s called). The fact that the use kobe beef should tell you enough. All the ingredients tasted fresh too. I don’t think I’ve gone thru a drive-thru since.

Excited that I found this place… I did not eat a beef burger but I did eat the chicken burger and it was delicious! Those truffle fries, «wow!» Had two. The service was slow but it was an opportunity for my family and I to sit and talk. So if your extremely hungry, don’t go but if you want great burgers… It’s worth the wait. Did not give 5 stars because onion rings weren’t that great. Had no taste. :(

The place is great! But I wouldn’t recommend going here if you want to leave in a hurry. The restaurant is managed by a one woman army who is also the only waitress, so don’t expect exceptionally fast service. When it comes to food quality, the burgers and fries are AMAZING. Every time I come for dinner it’s definitely worth the drive. Keep in mind the service is very slow but they are still very kind. By far, this is my favorite burger place in Houston :)

I had an Estrella beer, rosemary fries and the Spicy Vietnamese burger. The fries were above average and the Estrella, which I had never tried, was light, crisp and quite cold. It’s worth noting that the beer menu is extensive. The highlight of the meal was the burger. Featuring Kobe beef and cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeño, pickled daikon and carrots, soy sauce, siracha and a house made garlic aioli, it was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had. I ordered it medium rare and it was spot on. At $ 9.95 this place was definitely worth a visit. The food deserves five stars, hands down. I would give it 4.5 stars due to the atmosphere and a strange smell in the dining area, but neither of these is a deal breaker for future visits.

I had the Yokozuna first, then French Connection. Burgers were brought out just hot enough to enjoy each steamy first bite without burning my mouth. Both meats were cooked perfectly medium as ordered, juicy and flavorful. Buns were soft outside and toasted well for softly crunchy bites mostly throughout. Wasabi aioli on the Yokozuna was delicious and made its presence known without being overpowering; sesame seeds and green beans in tempura added to the enjoyment of each bite. Definitely a favorite. French Connection’s flavors blended very well and nailed the namesake’s flair; the gooey brie, sun-dried tomatoes, sautéed shrooms and spinach were distributed well. Halfway into it, the amount of aioli put on there really soaked the bun, but otherwise a good burger.

Made it back after almost 3 years. This little burger place is nestled in an unlikely corner of a strip shopping center. It’s close to nearby hotels, luring adventurous travelers away from pedestrian fare like Subway and Smashburger(both in terms of food and distance). The décor is the same as it was 3 years ago and, frankly, is starting to feel a little dated. It still has a chic vibe, but that is somewhat diminished by the addition of 3 televisions in the small dining area. Service was fast and courteous. i was one of 5 tables at around 7:30pm on a Monday. I chose the Swiss Alps burger with Rosemary fries and a toasted almond shake. The burger was a delicious gooey blend of cheese and mushrooms atop a perfectly cooked patty on a very tasty fluffy, toasted bun. Fries were wonderfully crispy, but lacked seasoning. One might expect a gourmet house ketchup with them, but this appeared to be standard Heinz. But the milkshake. Dairy gods be praised, the milkshake. I ordered the toasted almond milkshake based on another Unilocal review and was not disappointed. I can state unequivocally that this was the best milkshake I have ever had at a restaurant. So I’m inclined to give Burger Palace 3 stars today. Probably 4 stars on food, but dinged for noisy atmosphere, dated décor, and televisions in what cries out to be a chic burger bistro.

This trip was a 3 star trip. But the burgers were good enough to make me want to go back for another shot. I will admit perhaps I may have just chosen the wrong items from the menu. They offer Halal chicken. Some fantastic looking shakes. Veggie burgers. And they claim their beef is Kobe. But I always wonder if that’s true. I have read other reviewers who also have those doubts about burger joints who offer«kobe» beef. These burgers were good and the grease factor was terrific! The flavor wasn’t cooked, or smashed or squeezed out. Service wasn’t bad but they just had one guy taking care of the entire place on a Friday night. It took him a while to clear tables once folks left. I saw one table stay dirty from the moment we walked in until we were nearly done with our meal. It may seem like a nit picky thing. But quickly cleaning the tables tells me a place has pride in the joint. He checked on us in passing and we never had to ask for napkins or utensils. So I can’t complain about how he waited on us. First the good: I had the Texas cheeseburger — Cheddar Cheese, Jalapeño, Caramelized Onion, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Spicy Mustard & Garlic Aioli. $ 10.95. I was a bit worried when it showed up with a ton of fresh sliced jalapenos. Those are usually too hot to enjoy on a burger. But these didn’t overpower the bacon and great sauce flavors. It was deliciously juicy! Perfectly pink cooked medium. Fries — breaded lightly and tossed with parmesan & rosemary. I am putting these under the good because the wife loved them. I am not a big fan of herbed fries. But with a little ketchup I liked them. Not greasy at all and well seasoned. If you like this type of fries, you will like these. The beer list is extensive! Lots of great choices and well explained on the menu. The bad: I did not care for the bbq meat dumplings. They were way over cooked for my taste. The smoky pineapple chutney that came with them was tasty. But the dumplings just seemed frozen and then tossed in hot grease. I ordered a Duvel beer. Yeah! He brought it out to me in a Chimay glass. Boo! At $ 10 for a beer they need to make sure they serve it in the glass that is appropriate to the brew. Call me a beer snob if you like… but little things like this matter. Yeah, we’ll go back. It’s close to home. But for the money I prefer Bernie’s or Bubba’s.

My friend and I ordered the French connection and Spicy Vietnamese. I do like the unique flavors, however, the burger was too greasy that my burger would fall apart and juice was just coming out everywhere. If you like seasoned fries, then you would like their fries, but I didn’t see anything spectacular with the truffle fries. We also ordered the cremini mushroom tempura… it was rather bland and needed a dipping sauce. The waitress wasn’t that great either. I asked her if the side of fries were big and she just said«yes» and left it at that and just stood there waiting to take the rest of my order. Maybe it’s a cultural difference because she looked European but she seemed a bit stand offish… and she wasn’t friendly at all during the entire service. I don’t usually care about restaurant layouts, but the layout was just odd. We sat right near the kitchen and the fountain drinks machine. With the fountain drinks machine in view, it makes the place look like a burger joint, but the décor was too fancy… hence the name«palace.» I probably won’t be returning to this palace.
