The place is great to study or read a book. Unfortunately, the coffee isn’t all that and their portion sizes are small compared to other coffee shops. There was only one person serving customers and his vibe did not seem so welcoming.

The ONE redeeming factor about this place is the place itself. It’s a bit of grunge, a bit of hip, and plenty of artsy. The espresso bar is situated in the middle with counters all around, and there are plenty of couches and tables with light streaming in through the large windows. I saw lots of folks sitting and doing work, so it seems like people come for the vibes. That being said, I was sorely disappointed with the beverages. I asked the barista about how they made their hot chocolate, and he saucily replied, «With chocolate and milk.» I knew that, but I wanted to know what sort of chocolate was used(since it varies from place to place if the drink is legit) and was rather thrown off by the sass. He proceeded to make the hot chocolate with a rather sad foam and no care for the presentation. The chocolate itself was interesting – more caramel than dark chocolate, and it had a rather salty aftertaste. Very subtle, very mild. I had hoped for a richer, more robust flavor. In conclusion: come to study, not so much the drinks. Prices are steep as well.

Incredible atmosphere with great study or hangout setup. The late and cappuccino were burnt, but I think it was a fluke occurrence. I’d come back for the other drinks offered or for a glass of wine for sure.

I’d say I found a replacement for Starbucks(studying wise). This place is quite small compared to some cafés but it gives off a very cozy & comfortable feel. There’s free wifi & outlets at almost every table and a water jug near the entrance/exit door for those who just want to grab a glass instead of buying or waiting in line to ask for one. They also have food, pastries, various selection of coffees & teas, & wine and beer(happy hour starts at 4pm btw lol). One thing I didn’t like though is the fact that there’s a limited amount of parking spots, although I should’ve expected it being around that area. Nonetheless, this place was worth checking out & I’ll definitely be back to try some of their food.

Went here for a coffee with a friend and we both were pretty turned off by the service. The staff was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. Will most likely not return. On the plus side there is outdoor seating and couches available inside.

I really enjoy the coffee and the ambiance here. I’ve been here a few times. The music they play is so soothing and coffee-paired. I love it The location is perfect :)

Pros: Great atmosphere. Well-lit. Beautiful windows. Well-planned with electrical outlets under seats — perfect for studying/working. The wifi is free and reliable. Restrooms are clean. The baristas are quite warm and friendly, with the exception of maybe one person. Parking is pretty easy. Sandwiches are pretty tasty. Cons: Bosta doesn’t stick to their posted business hours. I drove across town(25 minutes) on a Saturday and arrived at 8:40pm. They were supposed to close at 11pm. I was told they we’re closing early(at 9pm) because their current guests had stopped ordering drinks/coffee and the owner was trying to transition to a wine bar instead of a «study hall.» Not very reliable. Coffee is mediocre, taste sour. All of the teas, except peppermint are entirely too strong. And the oatmeal is terrible. Should consider better vegetarian/vegan options. Bottom line: Great for a day of productivity, haven’t experienced any problems during the day. Not reliable in the evenings or weekends, as Bosta closes during their own operating hours. Note: If you decide to change your operating hours — cool, just have the courtesy to update your website, google and Facebook.

Nice place but Poor service. 25 minutes to brew coffee. Served toasted bagel cold. Owner was accommodating, but whole operation very disorganized.

4.5÷5 stars! Definitely at the top of my list of Houston study spots. Here’s a quick rundown– PROS + free/reliable wifi + plenty of outlets + comfortable seating + high ceilings + huge windows — lets in a lot of natural light + free parking garage CONS + music level is a bit loud + food is overpriced + not a place for conversation, if that’s what you’re looking for [AMIBIANCE] This space consists of a chill, modern feel with industrial flair, a monochromatic color scheme with accents of heavy wood and complimenting artwork on the walls. Walking in, I immediately became impressed by the refreshing feeling of such an open floor plan. The walls on the side have cushioned benches with large tables and freestanding chairs, perfect setup to camp out and get a lot of work done. The tables are also a good distance from one another, so you’re not awkwardly cozying yourself up next to a neighbor. There’s also a small couch area adjacent to a huge elevated table that can seat 10. Windows cover one wall, which lets in a huge amount of natural light, which can be adjusted with the shades. I’ve only been here during the day, but I did hear that it can get dark at night, so beware! There are also a few outdoor seating options if you want to enjoy yourself on a nice day. [DRINK] I ordered a cappuccino and my friend had a latte. Solid drinks, but nothing extraordinary. Prices are pretty typical of Houston coffee shops. I thought about getting something to nom on during my stay, but decided against it because of the steep prices. [ETC.] –Good parking options(if the garage is full, there’s free street parking! –Free/reliable wifi(password: cucumbers) –two clean and well lit bathrooms –very study-conducive environment –outlets along the benches on the two walls I also like the area it’s in – neighboring the Houston Medical Center and Museum District, it’s tucked in a residential area of this typically busy neighborhood. This is a huge plus because you don’t get very distracted by whatever’s going on outside(which tends to be a huge distraction for me, especially with places with large windows) b/c it’s just cars zooming past. Overall, I’m so glad my medical student friend introduced me to Bosta! I’m a fan and will come again for sure – for the vibes/to get on the study grind, not necessarily for the coffee.

Honestly, I’d give this place 3.5 stars if I possible, but because I can’t, I’m giving it 3 stars — primarily because of the subpar coffee. I’m an avid coffee fan, but the coffee served here lacks the flavor and taste one would hope for. There’s times when it also tastes a bit burnt, so I’ve never been particularly impressed. I’ve also found the service here to be a bit cold and distant, so that certainly takes away from the experience as well. On the plus side however, I do love the atmosphere inside of the place. There’s high ceilings and plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. Bosta is quiet enough to bring a laptop to get work done, yet also vibrant enough to meet up with friends and catch up. Although the lighting can be a bit dim at times, the vibes make this place a great place to stop by. There’s also plenty of outlets around so you don’t need to worry about your laptop battery dying out. Whether you’re looking for a nice study spot or for a place to grab a few drinks with some friends, Bosta is a solid option. Tucked away in the Museum District, it has a roomy-feel with large windows and high ceilings that give it some nice vibes. Even more of a bonus, there’s plenty of parking available in the garage next door!

Coffee is pretty mediocre, but nice happy hour. Nice big windows, which can work against you when the sun is setting — better for day time studying. It’s pretty dim at night too — good for a date, bad for reading o-o. Other than that, decent sized space and convenient location.

Great new coffee shop/wine bar in the museum district area! This place is ideal for anything from an intense all-day study sesh to an afternoon catch up with friends. Skip the street parking ordeal and just park in the garage next door. I love how spacious the shop feels; the surplus of windows and the high ceilings really help the place open up. It still has a dull buzz of a coffee shop, but it’s somehow a little quieter than most coffee shops I’ve visited in the area. There’s a variety seating options from side tables to bars and couches. There’s outdoor seating as well! The baristas are friendly, the drinks are great, and so are the little snacks(although be warned, it can add up). According to roomie– the vanilla lattes are made from real vanilla? So +10. They’ve had a few bad wifi days, but for the most part, Bosta is an excellent, accessible spot to hit up for a day of delicious productivity.

–1 for not being open on Saturday at 10 –1 when Unilocal says 7 –1 Google says 9 –1 your Facebook has no updates explaining your neglect to open up shop Net 1 star for the big tables and easily accessible outlets and cute boxes of matches I am young so perhaps I have only to experience this more often as I grow old: this is the first time I have been to a restaurant, café, the like closed during its supposed operating hours yet could not find reason.

High ceilings and minimalist art made me feel ten times cooler when I walked in the door of Bosta. Surrounded by yuppies, med students, and rice undergrads, this place has a trendy vibe that is matched by the quality of their products. Espresso is divine, and the pastries are good too. I’d love to come back for a drink and something small to snack on! Also their cakes looked wonderfully tempting. The boys behind the bar were funny and engaging, very conversational and clearly wanted me to have a good experience here. Pastries are half off after four! My almond croissant was divine, and brought to my table by the very kind barista. Parking is a little odd, there is some street parking and then a garage. It feels a little sterile, which is neither positively or negatively influencing my opinion if this place. It just differentiates it a bit.

A classy little coffee shop and wine bar in the museum district area. It’s in the same plaza as Barnaby’s and Dak & Bop, so if you’re wondering where to go for an after dinner coffee or dessert, save some time and parking woes and just walk over to Bosta. There is a large selection of coffee and wines, and they also have sandwiches and light bites if you’re still hungry. They have several choices for ice cream(From Cloud 10) and desserts. I ordered the iced chai latte and it was pretty good. Sweet, creamy, and refreshing with the right amount of spice. There is plenty of seating within and outside the café, so it’s an ideal place to kick back with your homies or significant other and have some intellectual discussion(subjective).

Pretty cool coffeehouse/wine bar in the same block as the new Barnaby’s! Very cool and well decorated! Has all the normal coffee choices plus a few more!

This was a pretty awesome find in Houston. The location was pretty easy to find. There is also parking readily available which is always a plus. However, I did hear that this place fills up pretty quickly during meal times because there is also a restaurant next door. The interior is very modern and«hipster.» There is plenty of seating. If you need a charge/power make sure to sit in one of the lower tables. The taller/raised tables do not have plugs in close proximity. The bathroom was clean, no complaints. The store has plenty of windows and offers a nice view with great lighting. It’s a great place to get some studying done on an afternoon. The coffee was pretty good. I had an Americano. From what I could see, there were plenty of tea and coffee options. The barista was friendly and helpful. When the condensation from my cold water glass created a small puddle, she came by to wipe it up for us. There is also some self-serve water by the entrance. Bonus: It can get a bit cold in here, be sure to bring a light jacket or cardigan if you plan to stay awhile! This place also has a projector that shows some movies. There isn’t sound so it’s not distracting or anything like that. Def. will come back!

There’s so many mixed reviews, I don’t even know where to start. I looked through majority of it and it’s pretty much split down the middle. And to be honest, my experience with Bosta is pretty solid. I really love the interior of this place and the big windows bring in natural light to this place. It’s also quite spacious! My favorite coffee shops are the ones that sell both coffee AND alcohol. Haha I love it. They also have a menu with a variety of snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees. Honestly, it’s a kinda pricy. I wouldn’t really want to pay for an expensive pressed sandwich. I’ve actually experienced pretty good service here. My first time here, a blonde haired lady was so helpful in telling me all the things that they offer. From the coffee, to the selection of draft beer to the best tasting wine, to even the good food. She was patient and she recommended a bottle of wine that she loves. I took a sample and fell in love. In fact, I bought a half glass and enjoyed it while studying. They also offer happy hour which is also a plus! There’s free parking in the parking garage right around the corner. First level is free and then after that is when you have to pay. I’ve always gotten lucky to find a spot in the garage. Street parking is always available as well. This place is right across the Children’s Museum and many other museums in the area. It’s a great place to just stop and get a cup of Joe. Might I add that they sell tea! Annnd they have a patio that’s dog friendly. Honestly, I like Bosta’s. And I’ll continue to come here.

What an interesting place. Has the menu of your typical hipster coffee spot(flat whites and organic tea!) but with the addition of some fancy appetizers and small entrees all in a modern, almost bar-like setting. When I visited on a Sunday the place was filled with an even mix of friends chatting and people studying/working. They prefer if you order before choosing a spot. Caution: the sofa by the door doesn’t have arms! I made the mistake of sinking into it only to find myself sinking further. The high tables are nice, just a bit difficult to scoot your chair forward due to the height off the ground. I liked the community feel, though, and how it encourages interaction between different groups. I ordered the guava tea and loved it. Comes served on a wooden tray with the tea leaves, a cup, and the pot of tea.

Bosta is one of my favorite places to study! I’ve been here a few times, and there are always some tables available. The tables are pretty big and spacious enough to spread out my stuff. Wifi is also good. The teas here aren’t anything special, in my opinion, but the latte that I got was pretty good. I also got the ricotta and speck dish one time, which was basically an open faced sandwich. I enjoyed it, but I loveee ricotta so I’m not sure if I was just biased or something. Prices are pretty high for everything on the menu, which is probably the only thing that keeps me from coming back every day. Another plus is that there is ample and free parking in the garage right next to Bosta!(for now) I hope it stays that way.
