Went in with a friend. Found a delicious cologne and made the mistake of asking about it. When I went back in so my friend could reschedule, I was accused of stealing the same cologne I asked about. Now… if I did indeed steal it would I have asked about it? Or what about going back inside… would I have gone back in after I stole it? There was a whole room full of people in there and nowhere to hide or secretly open the stupid cabinet where the cologne was stored. What a dumb girl working the desk, I mean seriously… you guys lost a client and a sale on that fabulous cologne as I was going to buy some right then!!! Thanks for embarrassing me in front of my six year old. Jerks.

First time here and Shay did exactly what I asked and envisioned. The cost was more than I normally pay elsewhere, but I also left very happy so it was worth it. She color corrected and lightened my hair perfect with no brassiness. The balayage came out beautiful and I will definitely be back. Shay is super talented and I highly recommend her!

I love this salon and have been there mutiple times for myself and to accompany my friends but I’ve been recently dissapointed in their customer service. Tried to book an appointment not too long ago and felt very dumb thanks to whoever was on the line. The tone in her voice and the way she questioned me about what services I was wanting was a bit obnoxious. Maybe they’ve gotten too popular and don’t need my services but still… it doesn’t hurt to respect your customers.

Had so much fun getting my hair back to fabulous! Jordan listened to what I wanted a delivered in the best way. I have been getting compliments for weeks! The atmosphere is super chilled. Loved my whiskey and coke and every single employee was kind and courteous. You really can’t ask for a better experience.

Phillip did an amazing job on my hair, I highly recommend him for a blow dry and style! My hair is super soft and has the right amount of volume and curl. The salon itself is super cute and everyone is really friendly. The mimosa didn’t hurt for starting my Friday off :)

The moment I walked through the door I felt like I was in a Portlandia episode. That summarizes the place fairly well. It’s an odd albeit awesome experience. I’ve been wanting to check out Black Sheep Parlor for a while, but I tend to make last minute decisions with getting my haircut. Over the course of a year, needless to say, that strategy did not go over well. I finally decided to give them notice and made an appointment instead of going with a walk-in mentality. I really enjoyed my experience. Overall, my haircut came out nice, and the service was fantastic. I think I was offered water, coffee, and even a beer three or four times. Everyone was very friendly and you definitely feel that with the atmosphere. Unexpectedly, I’ve come across some complaints on Unilocal about the music being played too loud. Again, when you walk into this type of salon, you should know what you’re getting and seriously can’t be that surprised. While there, I heard trip-hop, metal, hair metal, and some weird independent and/or alternative stuff. Not really my type of music, but I certainly didn’t find it too loud(even with a severe dislike of all music metal) and it didn’t ruin my haircut experience. So, expect them to be catering towards the youth and 20 – 30 somethings. Probably not the best place for your grandmother. Anyway, If the music makes staff happy and doesn’t affect my haircut, I’m good. I’ll definitely try this salon again, and if they do as good a job as this time, then likely it’ll be 5-star worthy.

So, today I went to Black Sheep and got my first haircut in 3 years. I’ve always had very long hair(it goes down to my arse), so it should go without saying I was a little nervous to cut some of it off. I walk in, am greeted by a friendly receptionist and Shay, the shop owner. If that wasn’t enough to set me at ease, I was then offered a mimosa! Yes please. My stylist, Freddy, was very receptive to what I wanted, and answered all of my questions patiently. He also had some great stories to tell! He cut very conservatively, and made absolutely sure I was happy with the length of the layers. The end result was exactly what I wanted, and I could not be happier. The cost was very reasonable(70 dollars for a wash, conditioning, cut, and blowout, plus a yummy mimosa). Black Sheep has won my loyalty, and I’ll definitely be back!

Things went really well for me here at first… They really did. I loved the atmosphere and the drinks they offer and the cute photo booth but that doesn’t make up for what happened. I started platinum blonde before coming here with a few months of new growth in my hair, I wanted lower maintenance so I just went to a more dirty blonde and the color was great and Glo did awesome. Then I decided to change it up and try doing the«silver» trend. I was told it would be awesome and look great and not a lot of work since I am blonde and wanted to do this.(Color was supposed to take better compared to a brunette) well 3 days later and $ 180 later the color was all gone. ALL of it… Back to the same color I waked in with before that appointment. I was told for $ 25 I could et toner every other week for the color to stick. Psshh NO! Then my last and final visit was to keep the natural look going and omg… Couldn’t have been worse. It was so Brassy and patchy! Yes patchy! Yes I will post photos. I paid a lot of money and even more this time since they raised their prices since they switched over to new products and toners. I left and waited about 5 days before calling back to talk to Glo and immediately she was like okay come in we will put some toner in it. Did that, not much help at all. It was completely related to carelessness and I know this because the same stylist has been doing my hair and just decided to say«screw it»! In my opinion! So I spent the next week making consultations and finally found another place and could not be happier with my new stylist. They now have a cancellation policy. When you make your appointment they take your card information and if you no show your appointment you will be charged for the amount of what your visit was supposed to be.

I had my hair done by Glo in the fall and she did a great job! She fixed the brassiness in my color and gave me a great cut!!! The shop is cool and everyone seemed nice!

I received a balayage from Glo on Friday and I am very happy with the outcome. She was very welcoming and took the time to discuss what I wanted and her thoughts on how it would look and what damage it would do to my hair. Everyone in here was friendly. There is a photo booth and a lot of cocktail options available for those who would like to sit back and relax.

Got my hair cut yesterday by Shay after some appointment confusion(two people with the same name with appointments on the same day, one cancels, agh!) and it turned out great. Getting my hair cut is always a little nerve-wracking, but I feel like Shay understood what I was going for and went back and re-trimmed until I had exactly what I wanted. It was a little pricey, but within the realm of what I consider«worth it» if there’s a stylist who understands how to do it right.

I really wanted to like this place. I think they do have some good stylists(clearly if you read these reviews) but I was not happy with my cut. I had 4 requests that I made clear at the start and I feel they were not addressed. The first thing I said was that I was not the kind of person to get up and fix my hair every day – that I am willing to do a minimal amount of work – flat iron my bangs and a few pieces, apply product and scrunch, etc. The first thing she did after trimming the back was to blow dry and style my hair completely straight. It looked good, but I am NEVER going to do that. The 2nd thing I said was that it was way too heavy on top. Besides cleaning it up a bit, she didn’t even take any off the top. There was just this HEAVY layer about chin length. Even after we finished, I said I felt like it was too heavy on top and she said it was just the way it was styled, and that when I did it myself, it would be different. My hair was long when I went in and I wanted a long, updated shag. What I got was – well, I really have no idea. There was no name you could put on the cut that I got, but the length was all gone so I couldn’t get someone else to fix it. I really am not the type to care that much about my hair, but I seriously almost cried. Plus I spent $ 65 on the cut plus a $ 20 tip. I went back 2 weeks later and got another stylist to take more off the top(and also tipped her) but it still wasn’t right. I gave up and went to another salon and had to start all over again. He showed me the weird things they did to my hair – the layers were all wrong for my hair type(wavy and fine but lots and lots of hair). If you go, get a recommendation for a specific stylist. The shop is cute, location and parking are pretty easy.

My hair has been through so much its crazy that im not bald at this moment. I wanted to get my dyed black hair to a silver grey color and to do that requires someone that absolutely knows what they’re doing. I searched through instagram and the internet looking at many stylist’s portfolios and I stumbled across Chelsea. She is very honest and straightforward and knows what she’s doing and I am so happy with my first session. If anyone knows who Guy Tang is, she is my Guy Tang.(He’s a hair god from LA) Can’t wait for my next session! You get what you pay for! Anyone wanting balayage or trying to change their hair color, come to see CHELSEA!

Love Glo!!! She is amazing at interpreting what my not so clear ideas(since I’m not even sure myself what I want) and translating it to something I LOVE!!! I don’t like to experiment with my hair and usually get trims & no color — but Glo helped change my long heavy hair to a nice bob and I couldn’t be happier! I have gotten my hair cut 3 times by Glo & she colored my hair a little this last time — I think she did balayage — but it ended up subtle with a little hint of color dimension. Each time I’m a little worried that I might end up with a haircut I don’t like — but everytime I do! I don’t know how she does it since I’m not specific on what I want and just throw ideas at her — but she’s amazing and I love everything she does. Also love that they have a drink menu to greet you with. Great place & of course — Glo is the best!

My first visit here was a week and a half after my wedding. I had been growing my hair out for a while and was ready to chop it off. I happened to get a Saturday afternoon appointment with Brena and she did such a great job! I told her I wanted my hair just at my shoulders and she did the rest. It seemed like she had a vision and was having fun bringing it to life. I love that I can wear it curled, straight or natural and it all looks good. The feel of the place is very funky and old school tattoo parlor-ish. All the stylists are super cute and punky looking but from what I could tell doing a great job. There’s a bar area inside and a photo booth which I thought was different and cool. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone!

Went to Black Sheep for the first time yesterday and I am now a huge fan. I had my appointment for a cut and color with Brena, who is super sweet and creative. After giving her a(not so great) description of what I wanted she was able to completely transform my hair and give me an awesome new look. With the color, I wanted something a little alternative but still work appropriate and Brena did an fantastic job of making sure that it was the perfect balance of fun/corporate approved. One thing I really liked about this salon is that you can tell that the ladies really enjoy what they do and it absolutely translates into their work. I would recommend Black Sheep and Brena to anyone looking for a creative and talented hair stylist. You won’t regret it. :)

I am a relatively new customer of Black Sheep Parlor(and Barber), having only been now twice to get my mane shorn, but I felt that I needed to review it as I have had such solid experiences here so far. Both times my needs were ably seen to by Brena, who has in two haircuts earned my loyalty. I have always been a bit mercenary when it comes to barbers and barber shops, but when I find a good one I try to stick with them as my hair is really thick and a bit tough to do a good job with. The shop itself is very nice… it has a slightly bohemian feel to it, which I like very much. They play great music a bit louder than most barber shops, but I dig their musical taste so it is a plus in my book. They always offer you a drink when you come in for your appointment, which I find to be a nice touch even though I have yet to take them up on the offer. The chairs are comfortable and they use very high quality clippers, scissors, and products in your hair. I liked the shampoo and clay that Brena used on my hair so much that I bought both of them at the conclusion of my first visit. Both times that I have been there the other chairs were occupied by ladies getting their hair colored, so I think that this may be a bit of a shop specialty, but I have no experience there. My haircut was a very reasonable $ 30 which included a wash and styling… definitely worth it for the quality of the cut. I will definitely be coming back for my next cut.

I have been coming to Black Sheep Parlor for a little over a year now. I used to get my hair done with Glo at another salon in Sugarland and I followed her to her new spot, Black Sheep Parlor in the Heights. The staff is extremely friendly and make everyone feel very comfortable. The space is really cool– greys, black and lots of crystals. They even have a photo booth and offer you different beverages. I feel like everyone in the salon seems to have a specialty. I’ve seen a gentleman there that does a lot of men’s hair, there is a lady that does a lot of extensions, another lady does lots of fun colors… But overall their work is great. Glo does both men and women’s hair and also does color, cut, blow outs, updos etc. She has done cut, color, balayage, highlights and ombré on my hair in the past. She definitely can create rich colors and really knows how to ombré hair. I’d highly recommend giving Glo a try. She is super sweet and knows what she is doing. I’m never disappointed!
