I’ve gone again a third time. I got the daddy warbucks. It was better than before, but still not blowing my mind.

It’s a bummer that this place has closed. I went several times and I’ll miss it a lot. Amazing, hearty food. I hope the cooks and owners are working on something new and similar nearby.

Had the Nitty Gritty minus the sausage… even with that adjustment… DEELISH…Foods are freshly prepared, added a side of hash browns for the perfect breakfast! Inside of location has limited seating(there is a small seating area outside as well) but know you have the option of take out. I will be back!

Stopped by during a client meeting in Houston. There’s a Denny’s nearby and I had to convince my boss to try this place out. I’m glad we did! It’s a small place with just a few tables. I like that, though. It felt very inviting. I had their individual sized shrimp and grits biscuit sandwich and it was super delicious! I honestly think it was a bit heavy for a breakfast meal, but you only live once, right? They get extra points for their fresh squeezed orange juice, which gave me a good jolt of energy for a long day of meetings. The service was fast and friendly, which is a godsend when you want something good to eat that’s fast, but you also don’t want to go to a chain. Gonna keep this in my back pocket for my next trip to H-Town!

I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It’s a very small place, but there was zero wait. I ordered a «hungry man,» personal size, and it was the perfect amount of food. It had a pretty good biscuit that held up to the filling. It had fried chicken, candied bacon, and American cheese on it. The crunch from the chicken and sweetness of the bacon were a great combo, but the cheese felt a bit out of place. Maybe if they’d used something more… refined…like cheddar… it would’ve been more cohesive of a sandwich. Maybe I’m just picky. The tap water had white stuff floating in it, which is kind of off-putting. But hey, that happens for me even at home. Service didn’t get my friend’s order accurate, and they were kind of distracted in general. I wouldn’t go here with more than 2 – 3 other people since there’s not much room, and I doubt they can handle many people at once. Overall, I’d eat there again, but I’m not jumping up and down over it.

Great brunch location. This place is a biscuit lover’s dream. Do yourself a favor and order a biscuit over some other item on their menu, biscuits are their speciality after all. I had the Daddy Warbucks, and I’d recommend it. The regular size is huge so take it easy when considering sides. For less than $ 10 it’s a great price. The space is small so getting a seat can be an issue. DONOT order the bottomless coffee. You’d be lucky to get one cup. It’s self serve and always out. For $ 3, it’s not worth it.

My fave was the Daddy warbucks. Can’t go wrong with cfs and gravy. Also had the piglet… It was ok but seemed a bit bland. Finished it up with the Hot Flight… Interestingly good. But more of a lunch biskit. Their biskit are great by the way. So are the hash browns. All you hash brown haters don’t know what you’re talking about.

It came here with my boyfriend for Sunday brunch. The food deserves a solid four stars but the service is iffy. Food: I got the flathead sandwich with hashbrowns on the side and my boyfriend got the hungry man. Both sandwiches were delicious, filling and the biscuit was perfectly brown. The hashbrowns were ok and could have been crispier. Their coffee is nothing special either. I would definitely order either of those sandwiches though! Service: The service was lacking. The kitchen stopped accepting orders because they were backed up.(We were next in line, which was a bummer!) We sat outside but none of the tables were bussed. Half the tables were missing napkins and condiments. The guy taking our order forgot my hashbrown the first time. The line to order is also very long and very slow! Location: The place is small! There’s not much seating inside but the patio is nice. I would not recommend this place if you have place if you have parties bigger than four people.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for awhile, but we usually take a late lunch and it’s closed. But on this particular day we made it just in time to check them out. We ordered the Hungry Man and Daddy Warbucks both regular sized. We should have taken his advice and just gotten the personal size. These things were huge! And biscuits and gravy is very filling. I enjoyed the Daddy warbucks more, because of the raspberry preserve, this stuff is amazing! The Hungry Man’s best part was the candied bacon. Both are very filling. The service is great the staff is inviting and the food comes out fast.

We came on a rainy Saturday morning and had to sit outside because all the tables were full inside. They gave us cups of water that were already made and sitting in the fridge. Faster than pouring your own, but it wasn’t really cold. I had the personal hungry man and it was so good! The gravy and candied bacon were amazing. There was a hint of sweetness, which was so good. We had corn fritters, yummy! And hash browns were okay. The best part about this place is the price, very inexpensive for the quality of food. This place is not where you can lounge for hours during brunch, but more for a quick, yummy, and cheap breakfast.

Oh my goodness! My wife loves their other restaurant Just Mac, so we decided to check out Biskit Junkie. I was recommended the Daddy Warbucks. I was not disappointed. Chicken fried steak on the biscuit with fried red onions with gravy and fried red onions. All cooked to perfection! Amazing! I wish I had ordered the larger size, but I did not have the time for a food coma. Orange Juice is also excellent! There was a line so we had to wait a short time, but it was well worth it.

My meal was delicious! The biscuit was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The sausage was not greasy. The only thing I did not like is that they use disposable plates, cups, and cutlery — it would be nice if they were more green, but maybe they cannot sue to space restrictions. Anyways, definitely returning. This review is based on my personal experience and all statements made herein reflect my personal opinion only. Your experience may be completely different.

Biskit Junkie smells like the perfect Sunday morning breakfast immediately when you walk in. You can smell fresh, pillowy biscuits from the parking lot. The restaurant is small and cozy but doesn’t seem to have a crazy wait or need for additional space. You can sit at the bar or there’s a handful of tables to choose from. Very casual and comfortable! A friend of mine posted photos from Biskit Junkie a few weeks back, and I had it on my radar ever since. I don’t live near Biskit Junkie, but it was well worth the drive! The biscuits are golden brown on top and perfectly soft and flaky on the inside. There’s a variety of biscuits to choose from, and they have something for everyone. Biskit Junkie offers 2 sizes for your buscuit –Regular and personal, with about a $ 2 difference. My friend is a vegetarian and ordered the El Chappo without chorizo(which I’ll never understand), but it still looked amazing! After chatting with an employee, I opted for the chicken and waffles + bacon, since he said it was one of their top-rated meals. The chicken was some of the best I’ve had in Houston, and you get a serious bang for your buck because they give you a large breast instead of legs/wings. The waffle isn’t too thick and is nice and soft, but next time I go back I’ll probably ask them to brown it a bit more. The syrup is just right and doesn’t overpower the chicken or bacon. I also got a to-go order of the Huevos Rancheros biscuit which was a big hit at home.

We were greeted in this tiny restaurant by the host/greeter/bus boy. He was fantastic in getting us a menu, offering suggestions and making sure we had a nice dining experience. He was the highlight. They have two sizes of biscuits, Regular and Personal. I wanted the Regular Hungry Man but they only had the smaller Personal size. We ordered and waited 31 minutes, when we noticed people that arrived after us getting their food I asked about ours. It had been put in to go containers even thou I didn’t order it to go. My sandwich came with half a piece of bacon, and a small piece of fried chicken and was smothered in gravy. It was good but the serving size didn’t match the price. Two sandwiches and two bottles of water ran me $ 15. The place is small, two four person tables and stool type seating around the perimeter, maybe 8. There is outside seating… but who wants to sit outside in August in Houston? See my panoramic photo. I should have gone to any number of fast food places in my area and gotten a chicken biscuit, it would have been faster and just as good. I wanted to like this place but the host was the only good thing about it.

I ordered a chorizo and cheese omelet, biscuit, and hash browns which I enjoyed. My boyfriend ordered the«hungry man» with an egg… It was AMAZING! They have interesting biscuit sandwich options, pancakes, and waffles. There isn’t much seating inside but they do have 3 – 4 tables outside as well. Casual atmosphere. Give this place a try!

Great stop for breakfast/brunch. Interesting biscuit combinations as well as omelettes, pancakes and waffles. BJ makes me think of a gourmet donut place I dined at a few weeks ago called«The Grove». The Grove has donuts with various flavorful toppings… some good, some not so good. BJs is similar with various biscuit fillings, so there will most likely be something you will like. My buddy Vik liked the el Chapa(egg & chorizo), but I didn’t care for it too much and didn’t even include it in this review. We traveled to BJ for lunch, only a 15 minute drive from downtown Houston. BJ is located in a sketchy part of Houston, but is worth the trip. This is a small joint that is more geared towards breakfast or brunch. Everything is served on metal biscuit pans. Most of the menu items are egg-based breakfast biscuits. It was lunch time, and I wanted to try some meaty biscuits. I ordered the Flathead and enjoyed the catfish with the remoulade sauce and the fresh pickles. Mixing the biscuit with it didn’t do it for me. Something is missing, but not sure what. Seemed a bit dry. Next, I tried some of the Hungry Man: fried chicken, candied bacon, cheese and gravy. This is one of my favorites. Nice taste combination. I think I liked the Nitty Gritty most of all: grits, bacon, shrimp and andouille sausage. Wow. It’s also the most expensive biscuit on the menu, but it’s worth it. Note that BJ has build-your-own options, so you can get a basic«biscuit with preserves» or «biscuit and gravy» if you like. I’m a big biscuits and gravy fan, especially when the gravy has big chunks of sausage in it. This is probably why I preferred the Hungry Man and Nitty Gritty. I would really like to see more«wet & meaty» biscuits on the menu. How about a nice chicken gravy, like chicken and dumplings, or a version of chicken pot pie with a biscuit? More spicy meats would also be good, such as Cajun fried turkey or jerk chicken. Drinks are done deli-style, from a cooler behind the counter. I had a nice orange cream soda from Colorado. Service is quick… I probably didn’t even wait for 10 minutes for my order. Anyway, I do want to return and have another Hungry Man, Nitty Gritty, and corn fritters. Good stuff!

Rule #1: You can’t call yourself biskit junkie and run out of biscuits! That was our introduction to Biskit Junkie this past Sunday at 11 a.m. It was easier for them to tell us what they had left than to tell us what they were out of. I don’t think biskit junkie is a product of a poor concept or bad food but of poor management. We took what they had left and then 10 minutes later they posted they were totally out of biscuits. I forget the names of the biscuit combinations we had, but they were tasty. The gravy on my biscuit was barely room temperature and the grits were rather bland. I will warn you their air conditioner doesn’t work and it is extremely hot in there. All of this said I can’t give more than two stars. However, I will go back, because the concept is solid and the atmosphere(once the air is fixed) is nice. They are a new business that is working out the kinks. I’ll give them a few weeks and try again later and I will update my review. I think it could be a really great go to breakfast spot so I am sending positive vibes and look forward to them working out the kinks.

Me and some coworkers have been following the news for a while on when this place would open. We are fans of Jus’ Mac and couldn’t wait to see what Patrick came up with next. After 2 years of waiting they have finally opened the doors for this place and we went to try for lunch today. There are some really good possibilities here, can’t wait to see all the new creations. For now he is on his way. Let’s get some information about the place out quickly before hitting the food. Parking=Plenty Seating=Not so Much, they have 2 four seater benches in the center and about 10 stools facing the walls… not really a big place indoors. Location=Doesn’t look like the neighborhood is bad just it is a little out of my way. Service=awesome and fast… we work downtown and we were able to get to the car, eat, chat with owner, order dessert to go, drive back to office in under a hour and 15 minutes. So if your on a time crunch… cut out the owner chat, which would be a shame, and order your to go dessert when you order your food. So there were 3 of us and of course we couldn’t decide what to get so we ordered it all and did it family style. Lets arrange them in least to best for me: Biskits Sandwiches: Flat Head – nothing to special, cornmeal catfish with tomato house pickle and remoulade sauce… didn’t feel like there was too much flavor… nothing bad but missing some umph. The Chattanooga – country ham(nicely seasoned) pico, fried egg, Hollaindaise sauce… I would order again once I get tired of my favorites. Hungry Man – What set this one off was they know how to cook their chicken and the candied bacon twist was a great compliment. Hit you up with a sweet surprise. Nitty Gritty – I love me some shrimp and grits, now throw in some Andouille sausage, bacon and parmesan and I will love it more… this dish is a little more expensive but well worth it… even for the people who don’t enjoy grits will enjoy these. EL Chapa… not El Chapo… but this is the top of the biscuit food chain for me thus far… eggs, chorizo, avocado, pico de gallo, crema, and a habanero salsa flavor just right to give it some heat. Yes we tried to get them all: Also added the corn fritters which were creamy and sweet… very tasty, definitely an every time appetizer. Now for the actual biscuit itself… it wasn’t made to be the normal flaky fall apart kind, this is thick and the type to handle its own and not fall apart, it did just that. Though I would love to have one of those flakey biscuits I know it would not be able to handle this much load and it would end up being just a hot mess where I would have to spoon everything up. There are talks of bringing one closer to downtown, can’t wait for that, but until then I will be taking road trips to upper 610.

A tentative 3 star for the Just Mac offshoot, that I can see being a four start after a few more tries. I showed up about 11:30 on a Saturday, and got one of the last biscuits of the day. There was a small line in front of me, and took me about 10 – 15 minutes to get to the front to order. So if you plan on having a biscuit, you need to order about 11:45−12 or so. The space is tiny, with a few communal tables, and a bit of counter space. There is outdoor seating as well. It gets hot and smoky inside, and to me that all adds to the vibe. The people at the register are friendly, but did not seem to be up to date on what they had run out of. Biscuits, hash browns, and ice tea being the big three either as I was ordering, or right after I ordered. They don’t seem to post any signs either, so you are kind of guessing on what they have if you get there around lunch time. I don’t know how the crowds are right now around breakfast time? Food comes out in about 15 minutes. I got the Flathead biscuit, with fried green tomatoes, and a Dublin Root Beer. The biscuit came with fried catfish, house made pickles, tomato and a mayo remoulade sauce. I really enjoyed the biscuit, and the catfish was fried really well. Good batter, tasty and fresh. The fried green tomatoes are Ok, they are really small. I thought they were fried pickles at first. Not a lot of flavor to them outside of the breading. I love lightly breaded FGT’s when you get that great tart bite from the tomato. Here it just seemed like it was all batter. I will most certainly be giving these guys another chance. It was packed, and they ran out of a lot of item’s when I was there, but I need to give the hash browns and corn fritters a try. Let alone the rest of the biscuit sandwich menu, which all looks great. I am sure I will be updating this soon.

This was my 1st time ever trying out something like this so the guy at the counter was helpful at pointing out the options. I finally decided on ordering The Hungryman along with a side of hash browns. The other reviews weren’t kidding when they said it’s rich. The gravy was good and not watery. It’s rich and heavy but I liked it. The hash browns were good too. Not too salty. This is definitely better than anything you can get at a fast food restaurant.
