horrendous service, Food comes in from off site. so nothing is made there. everything was soggy from steam table and the brisket came out of some bag. not worth the attitudes from employees or the price. Go to spring creek or Dickies right down the street.

What a disappoinment! The ribs were terrible, no smoky flavor, boiled I think, greasy, no seasoning, lack of even salt. The cole slaw was decent, and the beans flavorful although way to watery to get your moneys worth in a container, the dirty rice, dry and unflavorful. Perhaps this restaurant appeals to the all you can eat buffet crowd who wants quantity and not flavorful food, my order was take out. Not being local to Houston picked this restaurant from the gps searching for bbq in the area. Spent lots of years in Ft Worth where they know how to cook bbq, especially Railhead BBQ. I’d miss this place, save your money. I wont return or recommend.

New to the area and I’ve been here twice. I bought the same thing each time(brisket baked potato) because it was so good. The baked potato with brisket is to die for. The potatoes are huge and it comes with all the fixings on the side. Customer service was excellent as well! I will definitely be visiting this place often.

This place is horrible! Brisket tasted like some type of chemical was soaked into it. The cut it out of a plastic bag. It was just nasty. The macaroni and cheese tasted like it was frozen and reheated. I asked the owner for my money back and he told me that he didn’t know how to do that. My advice is stay away from this place at all costs. Water stains on the ceiling. I am giving this dump a one star only because it won’t let me post my review. It deserves nothing!

The bbq isn’t bad and the décor is interesting though it hasn’t been cleaned it changed in a while. The thing that makes this place horrible are the people behind the counter. They aren’t really just rude but more it’s their complete lack of caring about the customer and their look of pain when they have to help you. They obviously don’t care about the restaurant or the people that own it as they drive away customers with their complete lack of professionalism. I get it’s probably a minimum wage job but if you hate it that much find somewhere else that you hate a little less.

Website advertises all you can eat on Sunday and Monday for $ 16.99. However, I got turned around at the register by Hunter. He did not honor the website price that I showed him from big daddy’s website. I was embarrassed and furious. Mark is the apparent owner and this is for you. You need better communication with your staff or update your website because the other big daddy’s locations offer it.

I come here once a month or so when I don’t feel like making the drive to a better bbq joint. I go in expecting mediocre food and that is usually what I get. The only saving grace of this place is that you get a pretty good size portion for the price. So when I am hungry and don’t feel like driving far Big Daddy’s occasionally gets my business. Unfortunately I cannot continue to give my money to this faltering establishment. On my last visit the meat was much worse than usual(and its not that great when they are having a good night). Zero flavor with absolutely no hint of smoke. I’m sure they boil most of their meat. Then they charge extra to substitute a baked potato(understandable, most bbq places do), but at least give me a decent potato. Mine was overcooked to the point where the entire inside was dark brown. And while the portions are huge, the prices are NOT cheaper than better bbq joints. Rudy’s outstanding moist brisket is actually $ 1 cheaper per half pound than the meat they call brisket here. The service, as always, was lackluster and uninterested. We had to remind the cashier that $ 5×3 was $ 15 and not $ 20. His reply was, «Oh…ok» and took the $ 5 off. There really is no need to come here with all the great bbq options in this city. I’ve been a customer for 10 years(foolish me) and will not return. At least their sauce is good. If you must go, drown everything in it.

Horrible service. Waited 5 mins because the employees were behind the counter with ear buds on. They looked like they hated their job. Once I ordered I tried to make a friendly conversation and got ignored completely. The food looked like it was slapped together somewhere else besides the restaurant. Don’t plan on ever returning here when the competition is doing so much more for their customers. Try to avoid at all costs.

8÷30÷1311:50am — Is it considered community service for me to eat such bad BBQ so you don’t have to? I have had some bad ‘que in my day but this was a new low. I scored Big Daddy’s BBQ a 61 out 100. This is some serious Bum Steer BBQ. Smoke: No sign of a smoker or a stick of wood. I could not see a visible gasser. I wonder if they even cook on site. I drove behind the strip center and could only identify the walk in freezer. I ask the server what kind of wood they use, he shrugs his shoulders and replies. «Mesquite, I think». Brisket: Poor. No smoke ring, nada. Thin bitter bark. Overcooked and crumble dry. The brisket slices literally disintegrated into chop beef on the plate. Very little smoke. It tasted like overcooked dried out roast beef. Use the sauce or skip altogether. Ribs: Poor. The server reach for a rack out of the warmer. It was wrapped in clear plastic. He cut right through the plastic for my serving. Picked up the plastic end and dumped my ribs on the cutting board. The expression«fall off the bone» is not always a good thing. These ribs left no doubt, overcooked to the point they fell apart like pulled pork. Now I get the plastic wrap; it was the only thing that kept these ribs together. Flavor none. Smoke none. It was dry pork. Use the sauce or skip altogether. Sausage: Good. Your typical pork course ground sausage with mild tradition spice and little after taster. No smoke. Use the sauce. Sauce: Very Good. A thick dark tomato vinegar sauce sweeten by molasses and honey. Kansas City style sauce. This stuff could make anything taste good. Drown the whole plate in the stuff

I love this place. The fatty brisket simply melts in your mouth and the spicy sausage always hits the spot. $ 10 even gets you a two meat dinner with 2 sides. Definitely choose the corn and the potato salad, both are the finest two sides I’ve ever had at a bbq place. Yes, even better than Rudy’s…

Good Pork BBQ, homemade sauce, lackluster sides(«dirty rice» should NOT crunch). The place was absolutely empty at lunch hour which is never a good sign, although there were 4 tables piled high with dirty dishes so somebody eats there. The guy behind the counter copped a major attitude, he looked and acted as if he’d rather be anywhere other than here. The restaurant itself is located in a down-at-the-heels strip shopping center that has seen better days. Bottom line is that it’s an okay place if you want BBQ and you’re close by, but it’s certainly nothing to drive out of your way for.

I was driving by when we decided to stop. We were a bit skeptical about eating there but then the owner came up and starting chatting with us on how good his food is. He gave us some samples and we immediately got a tray! I had the brisket sandwich and it was the ! They make their own bbq sauce and it was nice and warm! I drizzled it on the sandwich, added pickles and onions! The scallop cheese potatoes were also really good! I defintely would recommend this restaurant. Its a very casual environment. It did look a little run down though!

The absolute worst service I’ve ever received! I only gave 1 star since Unilocal wont let me award 0 stars. First, big attitude on the little guy preparing my order. Second, who chops up a chicken wing and breast quarter WITH bones! I mean a serious choking hazard! After he chopped my chicken(bones in!) he dumped it on top of my sausage and chopped beef! And when I asked for owners or management, of course, there were none available. for two weeks! Thank you, Jose, if that’s your real name, you’ve just ruined any chance of my return and guaranteed that I will tell everyone I know!

I was unimpressed. I’m not sure if this place is a chain or not but it felt like one. And not a good one at that. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by real good BBQ at mom and pop places in Austin and the Hill Country. Everything just seemed really greasy and fatty. The sides were unflavorful. The premises was antiquated and worn, but not in the cool hip way. Just in a tired way. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It’s everything that’s wrong about restaurants in strip centers. Don’t mean to hate, but just telling it like it is…

Big Daddy’s BBQ serves up traditional Bar-b-Que in a casual environment or you can use their take out service. I typically get it to go and have plenty of left overs to use for another meal. Big Daddy’s is typically pretty crowded. They have good sausage and sides but the brisket is a little dry unless you get their sauce. Customer service is good — the employees at Big Daddy’s do a great job of getting your order processed and have you on your way in just a little while. Fast food pacing with better than average food. You’ve probably seen one of the Big Daddy’s vans driving around town — it is all done up like the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo(a touch that I love). Big Daddy’s is worth a try is you are craving BBQ and want it fast with hefty portions. It is not expensive like so many BBQ places around Houston. Sausage is probably what they do best.
