This was my first Filipino food experience. I was expecting it to be spicier but it was more bland than expected. I don’t remember the names of the stuff I got but I liked the stuff that started with a D that several people on here have mentioned. It looked disgusting(like black tar) and my brother refused to try it but I had two servings of it. I also really liked the blood soup as well. Their chicken curry was good but they used chicken legs and that just slows you down. The flavor was great though. Surprisingly, I also had three servings of their turnip greens. They were great! The foods we didn’t like wasn’t because of taste it was more about the texture we aren’t use to. The location was awful! Prostitutes walking around and pants around the knees. I had met my brother there and he brought in a couple of guns lol just in case we needed to protect ourselves. Considering the location and outside though the inside is quite clean and I never felt scared. The woman behind the counter was very nice. We didn’t feel out of place at all. I can’t rate the food since I never had any other Filipino food but I think to try things out this is a good place. I certainly wouldn’t go at night.

I watch about Phillipino food on YouTube all the time & I wanted to try it so I went down with my mother and my mother is very old fashioned when it comes to food about trying new delicacies but let me tell you since the minute I walked in till I left The customer service was 5 stars The hospitality was 5 stars The maintenence of the store was 5 stars The product quality was 5 star and it was just so delicious, they had different dishes with chicken, pork, fish, beef I loved it how it was made with coconut milk The service I received overall was mind blowing I’m of Indian race so I like my food with spices more like Indian, Pakistani or latin food but Phillipino food was like where Latin food met desi food… I loved it this was my first time and I will definitely go back … My mother loved it !!!

I’m Filipino, born and raised in the Motherland. So yes I consider myself an aficionado for this ethnic cuisine, and my verdict for this place is: edible. Filipiniana offers both«home» and«party» food. Home food would be chicken pineapple(yes it sounds strange but don’t knock it till you try it), menudo, and fried chicken. Pancit, lumpia(egg rolls), and dinuguan«chocolate meat» would fall under«party food.» The thing is that the quality of their fare is a either a hit or miss, never in between. Last time I came here with my co-workers, the egg rolls were crunchy and everything was fresh and steaming hot. And thank goodness because it was their first time eating Filipino food and it would be super embarrassing if I got them to eat something subpar. I’m writing this review as I eat now at noon on a Wednesday and the food temps are tepid, the egg rolls taste about a day old and unfortunately so does most of the food. Don’t even bother with desserts. I’m not exactly going to sit here and say Filipino desserts are the best thing in the world because that’s a straight up lie. If you want legit desserts that taste like actual food, get yourself to Godo’s in the Med Centre.

Great lunch buffer! Loved the Filipino food and the dessert selection was on point. They also sell Houston made pork cracklins at the counter and I got a bag of spicy and they were legit.

Didn’t enjoy the food for the second time, used to be good, doesn’t refill the dishes, pricey, poor air conditioning, have fans running. Definitely not coming back

Nice variety of dishes. Love that they tell you what each dish is made with. They have everything from fried squid to chicken adobo, a nice mix of Filipino favorites and new tastes.

Because I never really learned how to cook good Filipino food, I don’t often have it unless I’m visiting my parents. That being said, finding a good Filipino restaurant is a treat for me because it gives me a taste of home. I came here early on Sunday and all the food was fresh. They had my favorites: kaldereta, sinigang, palabok, chicken adobo… you name it! I was pleased with their variety and wide selection. On my first walk through the buffet line, I didn’t have enough space on my plate to get everything I wanted! That’s how you know a buffet has a lot to offer. The food was good but I was a little bit disappointed by the cassava cake(it’s my favorite Filipino dessert so maybe I’m a little more critical of it). It was a bit hard and didn’t taste as fresh to me. The other desserts offered were great though. If I’m ever craving a taste of home, I will come back here again.

I love supporting Filipino establishments, as I am half Filipino and have visited and love the Philippines. Work directly across from this restaurant and finally decided to give it a try. The food was decent, but not as good as my apo’s(good pampanga cooking). What totally killed my rating was that they were not hospitable… no greeting, hello, explanation on how things work with the buffet. Not sure I even got a thank you. None of the Filipinos in my family are ever that cold and aloof to anyone, and they are not business owners trying to gain repeat customers. I was astonished. And they have the nerve to have a tip jar in the front when they provide zero service(patrons grab their own drinks, as well as food). Filipino Too, which used to be owned by the same people has much better service. I felt welcomed and appreciated. Don’t plan to return.

So I came here on a Sunday morning as soon as they opened and it was great! I gave four stars instead of five because I’ve been here previously later in the day and the food was not as fresh. For any newcomers to this restaurant, I would suggest you come early as soon as the place opens so that you get everything fresh and hot. So in terms of ambience, it’s definitely the typical filipino buffet that I’ve seen throughout the city with tables, booths, TFC on tv(filipino tv channel), and a serve your self type of buffet for everything. It’s very casual so no need to dress up for fine dining. There was a little girl at the front desk who was cute, recommending things to try and buy before we left. The food was great this time around since it was fresh. There were a ton of classics to try including the Kare Kare, sinigang, tinola, palabok, pancit, caldereta, adobo, palabok, dinuguan, fried fish, crispy pata, etc. I had no complaints, but of course I still prefer my moms own cooking. The desserts were so delicious, especially the palitaw, kutsinta, and biko. Not too sweet, which was a plus. Everything was delicious and I definitely recommend coming here if you want to try some authentic filipino food or if you’re filipino and miss your mom’a cooking. They also have a location in Spring which I think tastes even better and the restaurant is nicer in appearance. I’ve even seen a live singer there once in awhile. I will definitely be coming back again soon.

Tasty Filipino food is what you come here for. The kare kare, dinuguan, and crispy pata were my favorites. The are that it’s in is a bit shady and I suggest don’t sit facing the windows. Best filipino food in Houston.

Affordable. But the quality of the food is excellent. I came from CT– and been craving for Texas BBQ– but the Filipiñana buffet so far was way better. I think the food brought back memories of home. Kare-kare was a must try. And the singang, dinuguan, adobo were authentic as well. This was truly the best Filipino restaurant that I have been in the US so far.

This restaurant is one of the few that thrived for decades. Food is good and choices are plentiful. The location isn’t as desirable but safe enough during the day. I’ve seen their business hours chg from time to time, call ahead to make sure.

A simple delicious all you can eat Philipino buffet in the hood. This place has all your Filipino food desires here and you can keep going back for more. They also cater too! Their prices are decent and it’s all home made. They have calamari, duniguan, calderetta, paksiow na lechon, biko biko, cassava cake, and so much more. Come hungry and leave full!

Actually, I came here because of the Unilocal good reviews. The environment was nice and family-oriented. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because the food was okay. Some of the food were cold and soggy and we went there around lunch time. The flavors and taste of the food were mediocre. It could been better if the food was hot and fresh. But if you were craving for Filipino food and never had it for awhile, this place is good for that time manner. It sucks to say that I waster my money here coz I could’ve went to another Jollibee.

Passing through and decided to stop in based on Unilocal reviews. Happy I did! Casual place, just walk in and help yourself. The staff is friendly so if you need something just ask. They will not approach you so don’t wait. They are helpful, it’s just not the system. Interesting mix if foods, chicken, pork hocks, fried pork belly(awesome!), fried pigs ears, beef, noodle dishes, and great desserts. There is stuff for the adventurous like me or someone more conservative. Try the beef spare ribs, they don’t disappoint.
As anyone who reads my reviews or knows my personality, I LOVE buffets. Not only because I like to eat a lot, I just the variety and quickness that a buffet brings. As far as their main entrees go, it’s a small selection but I enjoyed their spareribs and pancit. But my favorite was their fried chicken. The other meats were OK, did not really know the names. But what bumped this review into a 4 star was the dessert. I had their version of sticky rice and splashed it with a bit of warm coconut milk! I had two servings of this alone. They also offer karaōke, which was odd but could be a lot of fun. On this lunch trip no one was singing away.

This buffet was actually healthy looking in my opinion. Majority of the items on the menu was typically meat and veggies and for a gym rat like me this fits my diet. The thing that made this a 5 star was the dessert. My friend combined the rice cake and coconut milk together making a perfect ending to my lunch. Did I mention they have karaōke available?! Yes! You can eat a delicious meal and sing your heart out. Definitely coming back.
