B & D Crawfish

Usually hit or miss with this place; most of the time they hit head on, but when they miss, they miss hard.
I used to eat the fried seafood until it tasted like some strong chemical one time, then I left it alone. It was like a menthol fried fish. I thought I was trippin, but I just so happened to get a plate for someone else that day also based on my recommendation, and they said the same thing. $ 20 in the trash. Called them back to tell them about it and they say «no one else complained about the fish»… Great customer service.
The gumbo used to be the best in my opinion, but slowly went down in quality. It’s a little more slimy texture these days with the new management, so I left that alone too. Crackers are stale but I seem to come across that with different restaurants also.
So now I eat the garlic shrimp fried rice which is where they hit. I think this restaurant would be a better Asian restaurant, because the cajun food they make isn’t that great unfortunately.
Garlic shrimp fried rice is consistent or even better each time, I haven’t had a plate like that before. If you end up here try that out first.

Bought 62 pounds bags of crawfish… first bag was good… second bag was terrible… over half were dead. Not going back.

Crawfish joints are popping up like crazy all along the bellaire area. This one is like no other, except they sell live crawfish and like all the other crawfish joints, they also sell cooked crawfish along with some other dishes. Most crawfish places will not sell live crawfish to you. It’s on the corner of bellaire and is gated around with the typical gray metal fencing. You can spot it because they have plastic signs/​banners on the fence. They do have a small seating/​picnic like area, but it’s mainly a drive through service for crawfish! It’s like a shack, a bit run down and old in my opinion. They should consider rebuilding and making a nicer seating area outside. I’m pretty sure once crawfish season hits, they will be busy with the drive though service.
