Beautiful salon, quality products, and talented stylist! Vanessa made my hair look Runway ready and was super sweet. I’ll definitely be back to get my pampering at Azur.

Adriana is an extremely talented colorist– thank you so much! She listened and spent a great amount of time making my hair beautiful and shiny! The balayage is flawless. Ill be coming back for sure! The salon is beautiful and everyone was so friendly. I felt very welcomed as a newcomer and felt pampered :) an overall great experience !

Another great visit to Azur. My color has never been better since coming to this salon 2 years ago. Tristan does amazing work and is a blessing for this salon. Hope she never leaves!

Worst experience ever — this is not my first time at Azur — it actually use to be my favorite place and great location. The guy that use to do my hair left and the color girl as well with no notice — one day I called to make my regular appointment and they were gone. Anyway I decide to give it a try and send my son for his haircut — he is 16 how hard can that be right? Well, it was a terrible haircut and apparently the girl told my son she knew what she was doing even when he was very clear about what he want it. Totally ignore him. Yesterday I decide to give the place one more chance and took my daughter for a trim in a one length nothing but a trim ! After $ 80.00 again they did a terrible job — is all uneven shorter in one side. don’t spend a penny in this place. Terrible service. Trust me it’s not worth your money. Happy to post pictures if need it.

I’ve been to AW a couple of times, and when my normal hairdresser is on tour (he’s in a band) this is my go to spot to get my hair colored, highlighted or cut. They used to have two locations, but have since merged it into one, which I appreciate because this particular location is very chic, next door to my spin studio, and has some killer talent all working all under one roof. Tristan is one of those people. Her attention to detail is on point, as is her ability to cut and color. The location is super welcoming with top of the line products and customer service. Their prices are in line with any high end salon, but honestly in all beauty business you do pay for what you get.
Absolutely would recommend Azur West as one of the best salons in Houston, hands down. :)

Siyan is a fantastic stylist. Normally I am a stylist hopper, but I have been with Siyan for over 3 years now. I would recommend seeking her out.

Shortly after (and I mean very shortly after my review) Nick Brines who is the owner and general manager contacted me directly to help resolve the issue. He was fair, balanced and responsive. I’ve never met Nick before and was so pleased to see how committed he is to superior customer service and addressing client needs. I do plan to go back and give Azur West (the OTHER location) an opportunity to rectify an otherwise bad situation. It’s virtually impossible to oversee every action of your staff/​team, but the swift response by management is a testament to the client and client needs. Kudos to Nick and I appreciate his efforts.

Holyyy nightmare was this bad. I’m always nervous about going to new hair dressers, but I got an appointment with owner Greg Decker and thought I’d be safe given that he’s the most senior stylist they have. And that’s how I got the first ever haircut that brought me to tears.
My hair was about halfway down my back and I wore I shirt with front pockets and told Greg I wanted the bottom of my hair to be where the top of my front pockets were when my hair was dry. We talked about layers and I agreed that a few long layers would be fine but that I definitely wanted all of it to clear my shoulders when it was dry because I have naturally curly and super frizzy hair, and the weight of keeping it long helps tame that.
By the time he was done, the bottom of my hair was barely hitting my shoulders, and the shortest later he did barely cleared my ears. And not only that, the super short layer was at least 2 – 3 inches shorter than the next-​longest layer which just looked bizarre and once the humidity had it all puffed up it looked like some sort of strange mushroom cut/​mullet combo. When he turned me around so I could see it I said it was much shorter than we talked about and he assured me it would grow, which of course did NOT make me feel better. It’s like he completely disregarded the lengthy conversation we had about what I wanted. We weren’t talking inches or using a picture… all he had to do was look at the shirt I was wearing and the specific point on that shirt I told him to aim for. It wasn’t even close to being that length when it was wet, let alone when it was dry like I’d asked for.
And it wasn’t just me who thought the cut was terrible. My mom has been dying for me to try shoulder-​length hair for years, and when I showed it to her she couldn’t hide the look of pity on her face. She agreed that I just needed to get some bobby pins and figure out how to pin it back until it grew out (because I couldn’t even get close to getting the short mullet layer it into a ponytail), and all my friends suggested various vitamins and tricks that would help it grow out faster.
Only now, after 4 months of taking biotin and prenatal vitamins every day to help it grow, is the bottom of it finally hitting the top of the front pockets of that shirt when it’s dry. This was hands down the absolute worst hair cut experience of my entire life. I will never be returning to that salon and hope that this review will prevent someone from making the same mistake I did by trying it in the first place.

Love love love this place!!! Been going to Greg for years. And can’t recommend him highly enough. Make an appointment. You won’t be sorry!!!

I highly recommend Karina! She gave me a fresh new cut today and I couldn’t be happier. The staff at Azur West are always friendly and accommodating. I love the atmosphere of the salon and am always excited to come back.

I came here on a friend’s recommendation and loved the experience! You get a choice of drinks (afternoon bubbly?) before you settle in for a nice wash and cut.
Alex was my stylist and he was great. I have straight black hair which sounds easy to cut but isn’t (based on how many times its been butchered at other establishments). They use great products and the staff is fun and friendly.
It’s a great place for a casual or extravagant experience — and everyone else at the salon seemed highly satisfied.

The salon did not even bother to call me and let me know that Katie S. and Jennifer S. were no longer employees. The salon just called to confirm my appointment as if nothing was wrong. What kind of business does that? Not the good kind. Both ladies were kind enough to personally let me know they were no longer working there and they are now at Bella Rinova in Uptown Park.
I never went to Azur West for the atmosphere or the the location, I went for Katie and Jennifer. If you have stellar stylists like these ladies, a good business would have done what they can to keep them, not run them out.

Paula Som was my hair stylist and she was amazing and very trustworthy individual. I was continuously looking for someone to go to for hair cut. Well no more because not only she’s trustworthy but well knowledge and will defiantly make you look ten times better. I highly recommend anyone to Paula to become your hairstylist. Never need anyone else for hair ever :) she will never disappoint !

I absolutely loved my experience here. I haven’t had the best luck with hair in the Houston area and this was the first haircut I could walk away with feeling like I had made an actual investment with both my time and my money. It was worth every cent. I enjoyed the experience the environment and the services. I have confidence that this cut will last and grow well rather than having to go back every week for a trim. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I hope this helps all of you who have yet to find your hair spot!

I am so surprised to see bad reviews for this place. My experience has been radically different. I have had my hair turned ombré and back to medium brown. I used Mari and she was great. The color lasted and toning it after I decided to grow it out was free. Katie cuts my hair and is really sweet. She helped me grow out a truly horrible cut I received else where Right before going out of town!! She did this by shaping and fixing as it grew. She touched up bangs and did minor trims at no cost. I drive all the way from clear lake to get my hair cut only there.

Azur West is one of the best salons I’ve ever been to, and I have been a loyal customer for the last two years (literally I go there like once a month). Alex does an amazing cut (quickly so I don’t have to sit there for 5 hours) and seriously makes some magic with his styling. Mari, the best colorist ever, is the reason I started going to the salon bc I followed her from Toni and Guy. She has taken my hair on great color adventures and I’m always very happy when I leave there. I’ve recommended the two of them to many several of my friends who are now their clients. The ambience of the salon is great too — drinks, good music, and great company — I really just feel like I’m hanging out with my friends when I go to get my hair done. If you are in need of a good cut and fresh new color, I highly recommend Alex and Mari!

Honestly, I have never cried about my hair until I went to this place, and let me tell you it’s not the good kind of crying. I spent close to 400 dollars coming over here for an ombré and it was a disaster. I automatically thought that since this salon was a «higher end» salon, then I would automatically have an amazingggg hair do, but let me tell y’all that I was wrong. 1^st of all my color came out really orange/​yellow pretty much nothing like I wanted, 2^nd the ombré wasn’t even blended that well 3^rd the hair stylist lied to my face and told me that my hair color looked good. Ladies if you don’t want orange hair color don’t go to this place, listen to my words and stay away. If I could rate this place it would get a zero. Luckily there’s a happy end to the story and I got my color fixed! Thank you Kathryn (from Kathryn’s hair salon) you’re a God send!

The best thing about this place is the offer of a beer or wine while you wait. The haircuts are OK, I mean it’s not difficult to cut my ever increasing lack of hair, but somehow Cesar manages to make it a nasty experience with pretentious service and a total lack of ability to use a shaver which typically cuts me. A friend of mine has been cut with scissors here as well, so be wary!
For the money, it’s not worth it. Real shame.

Want a mullet? Well, neither do I. Azure West gave me simply the worst haircut of my life and did so with some of the least sympathy and kindness I have experienced. Not a place I will ever go back.
I have medium-​length wavy hair and am trying to grow it longer. I have always worn my hair curly with some soft layers. I told Siyan (a «Senior Stylist») that I wanted soft layers with a 1 to 2 inch trim. What she gave me could only have been described as mullet layers– with a 4 inch difference between the shortest and longest layer. It looked retarded.
When I expressed my disappointment and unease at leaving the salon with my hair looking this way, Siyan told me that THIS is what I asked for (yeah, ’cause arguing was really going to make it better). No, honey, a mullet is NOT what I asked for. They really don’t train their stylists to have much empathy. She quite reluctantly re-​cut the longest layers so that there was more of a 1 to 2 inch difference between the shortest and longest layers, rather than the mullet-​esque 4-​inch difference.
But now my hair is far shorter. I couldn’t get out of Azure fast enough and literally cried when I got home and saw how ridiculously short my hair is now. Maybe I just had a bum experience with Siyan, but as my hair is still disfigured, I’m not planning to give this place another shot.

Finding and keeping a stylist you love is harder than you think. Most are flighty, here one minute and gone the second you build a relationship with them. Then there are the few that you really connect with and trust 100% with your hair. Those are the ones you will follow to the ends of the earth. Vicente is one of those rare gems.
Vicente has been my stylist a little over two years. He changed my cut, adding layers that look great whether my hair is straight or curly. At first I was hesitant because adding layers to natural curly hair usually ends up a disaster but I trusted him & the outcome is phenomenal!
Azur West is a gorgeous salon on the second floor of the multi-​use residential/​retail «mall» off of Kirby just south of Westheimer. The salon is modern, black & white with plenty of natural light. Sheer black & white curtains surround the sink area, giving the room some dimension & helps break up the natural light as it travels through the salon. Each stylist station is roomy with hooks to hang your purse under the counter & their hair dryers hang from the ceiling. No messy clutter here, everything is streamlined & minimalist.
The lovely lady running the front desk is very friendly & accommodating. Very easy making appointments & the checkout is a breeze. Nice change from the harried front desk staff I’ve run across.

After living in Houston for 8 months, I decided it was finally time to find a new stylist in the area. After consulting my fellow Unilocalers I found myself at Azur West with an appt with Siyon.
I was terrified to go to someone new as my hair had suffered some major bleach damage the year before and was in recovery mode. I also am extremely picky on the color of my highlights and didnt want to look like someone went crazy with a bottle of bleach. Siyon did a perfect job on my highlights, making them look so natural while fixing any color issues my hair had before. She did such a good job that I didnt need to get them touched up for almost 4 months.
The cut was amazing too. I am super attached to my long hair but needed to cut some off so it would be healthy. She showed me some options on an ipad they had in the salon and talked me through every step to calm my nerves. After the cut she gave me a hollywood style blowout. What I wouldnt give to have her do my hair everyday! After all was said and done I came out with an awesome looking head of hair.
Although it is kinda pricey (that’s why it is 4 instead of 5 stars, about 90 $ for a cut with her), this salon is upbeat, fun, and really knows its stuff! For sure coming back!
