Great Asian food. Dumplings were plump and moist. Hot and Sour soup was good. Atmosphere was nice. I’ll go back for sure.

Food is amazing. General tso chicken is much better than all the other restaurants in the area. And it’s a great price too. The staff were so nice and helpful.

Absolutely the best Chinese food in Houston, in Texas, in America, and probably the world. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and exceptional food! A few of my favorites are the beef with broccoli, sesame chicken, and general tso’s chicken. You can never go wrong with stopping in for some food here! LOVELOVELOVE this place!

We mainly come here for dumplings. Pan fried or steamed. Dumplings is their best dish. Everything else is pretty standard and mainstream. Staff is friendly and remembers regulars which always makes one feel welcomed. Don’t expect a fancy wine selection . Lunch and dinner specials are of good value if you just want to try it out.

We tried a variety of dumplings and all were very tasty. The service was also pretty fast. I mean after all we had a party of ten. Was our first time there and will definitely recommend and go back. We also had the orange chicken and general tsp with white rice. The orange chicken was the best I’ve had in a very long time. The general Tso’s was also pretty bad ass. I look forward to going back real soon.

This is the first place I have had dumplings at and the only so my review may be a little bias. That being said, it’s delicious and it’s crazy unexpensive. You can get 8 dumplings for like 6 bucks and should fill anybody up.

Customer service is always great every time I’ve been here. You can really tell that the staff always go out of their way to make you happy! They’re hard working. I get random cravings for Chinese food and Auntie Chang’s always hits the spot. If it’s your first time I recommend getting the assorted dumplings so you can try all their dumplings. They also have a variety of sauces on the table for you to try. Regularly I always get seafood cheese puffs and sweet and sour chicken. Sweet and sour chicken isn’t as good to go because the steam from the container makes it soggy. If you’re craving non authentic Chinese food come here! It’s worth a try and I’m happy each time I come.

Nice ambience for starters. Also the portion sizes are perfect as is the food. This is a great place for a first date. I know because I went here on a first date. Only complaint I have is if you are waiting for someone there’s no comfortable place to sit.

This place is the bomb and the dumplings are the best. Make sure you taste all six sauces and fixings they put on the table for you. They don’t put them there for nothing. The dumplings are great as is, but they’re fantastic with the sauce. The service is friendly too.

Quick tips: Pickup is quick and easy. I got the 8 dumpling assortment on Farrah A’s recommendation. Assortment comes with spinach, pork, chicken and spinach. My favorite is the shrimp. Great lunch specials between $ 6-$ 8 and comes with either hot and sour or wonton soup, a crispy spring roll and fried rice. Food: I was skeptical to do pick-up as Farrah warned that the dumplings may be cold(for delivery) and anyone knows reheating cold dumplings is blah. However, even running late for my pickup, the dumplings were nice and hot. In terms of the assortment, the pork and chicken were okay, but the shrimp one was delicious, I just like choices. If I go back i would get the shrimp dumplings. Ambiance: It’s a little cheesy with the christmas type lights, but I will probably come back. Service: Quick pick up service.

The worst food I have ever ate in my life. Me and my coworker order food the people were extremely rude on the phone. When the food arrived it was smelling burnt and really hard meat. The chicken had an old smell to it. We both threw the whole food in trash. The fried rice was just grains of rice dipped in soy sauce and the chicken was nastiest thing i ever tried. I will never ever order anything from this place.

A few years later all I can say is the consistency is still the same. Service is very punctual and sincere, food that I always order when I visit here is still excellent and pricing very reasonable. A little side menu changes time to time but still great eye appealing choices. Not sure if my review from a few years got deleted or something but could somebody tell me if it’s missing please?

If you’ve lived in Houston long enough, you know that independent restaurants have to be REALLY good to survive in this city. I have passed this place up for YEARS and am disappointed that I haven’t dined here until now! I’ve been twice for lunch service; affordable, efficient and damn good Chinese food. I have to admit that their dumplings are good but they are average. However the quality of food and service makes up for it. I will totally be back :)

Just terrible. Wonton soup had dried pork that was dyed pink and dropped in the broth to reconstitute. There are no vegetable dumplings – they are entirely spinach. Pan fried pork dumplings have no seasoning or flavor, it’s just a lump of overcooked pork. I doused them in soy sauce to be able to eat 3. The iced tea is a powdered mixture. Nasty stuff. The service is great though and it’s a nice space. Both could be put to much better use.

The food was awful, but our waiter was great. I came here on a Sunday and ordered the chicken and veggies lunch special. The fried rice is not really fried rice at all. Even panda express knows that fried rice necessitates scrambled eggs and mixed vegetables of some sort at the very least. The fried rice we were served was basically soy sauce over crumbly, undercooked steamed rice. There was maybe four pieces of chicken in my chicken and veggies. The egg roll was also flavorless, and only the hot and sour soup was salvageable. I can definitely understand why this place is so cheap. You definitely get what you pay for here. I gave two stars because our waiter was very friendly and helpful. He answered our questions cheerfully, gave recommendations, kept our drinks filled, and stopped by multiple times while serving other tables to check up on us. He did his job perfectly, and we received excellent service. It’s a shame that the food was so bad.

I really love this place. No it is not the most amazing chinese food you will ever have, but it has a large variety at really great prices that make up for that. And it’s not like the food is bad — its just average. However, there is a big variety of table sauces that are served along with your meal, as well as some very tasty eggroll and wonton soup appetizers. I personally always get the sweet and sour chicken. The dumplings are OK, but I think the main courses are better. It is usually better to get to this place from shepard than from westheimer, given the current Sh*t storm that is westheimer. Parking spots are all around — it is located upstairs above the Tea House. This place is great to carry out a very inexpensive but good lunch!

Yes, this is your Americanized Chinese food. The food is pretty good, and they always seem to have lunch/brunch/early bird specials going on which makes it a plus. Think the dumplings are my favorite here. Pan fried pork dumplings are tasty. All your normal American Chinese food options are here and are good, but the plus is that normally it comes with a soup, egg roll, and crab puff.

I’ve been here a couple of times now and I must say that General Tso chicken is possibly the best I’ve had in Houston. They have really large portion dishes so you will definitely leave feeling full. They also have a light menu For those of you who are trying to eat healthy! I tried the dumplings here and I was kind of let down. Given the name of the restaurant and I thought that they were going to excel in their dumplings. But that wasn’t the case. I have definitely had better dumplings. They also have a pretty good lunch menu, in terms of selection and price. In case you’re trying to watch a game, they also have a couple of TVs in one section to the side. It’s definitely my go to Chinese restaurant in Houston now! The service is pretty good they have never gotten my order wrong, and they are very attentive– definitely worth a try!

I have been eating here since 1993. Lunch specials are reasonably priced. My go to meals is the sesame chicken and pepper steak. I am not a dumpling eater but my workers tell me they are pretty darn good. Staff is super friendly so give it a try.

I went to Auntie Chang’s on a Friday night. In short, it was unspectacular food at cheaper prices, and dumplings aren’t actually the focus of this dumpling house. I ate everything on my plate, but wasn’t really a fan of the spinach dumplings or house tofu that I had. I think this just might be my bias against steamed spinach, or distaste for tofu covered in a glaze. The wait staff was very good, however, and I very much enjoyed the six different canisters filled with chili oil, ginger, sauces, etc. for mixing my own dumpling sauce. Compared to some places in Houston’s Chinatown, though, Auntie Chang’s definitely has room to be aspirational.
