I asked for help few times, their employees seem very irritated and frustrated, I can tell from their faces and tone. When they picked up the phone they helped customers right away, which I asked them first in store.

I decided to give them a shot because I’ve been a lululemon addict for too long. After this experience I will stick with lulu. Walked in and walked the ENTIRE store and not one single employee asked me if I needed help. I went into the dressing room by myself with 6 items… there was no employees helping in the fitting room either. Not really sure who they decide they are going to assist. As far as the clothes… eh. Cute patterns and nice cashmere but the finger holes are not as well placed as lulu and the fabric didn’t feel as luxurious. Horrible customer service so I didn’t purchase the $ 500 worth of items I had. Back to lulu I go.

The store is quite small and no one really asks if you need any help or even greets you when you walk in. They are, however, very friendly when you check out. Good thing about this store is it’s a stand alone store so there’s always parking.

High end athletic clothing. They are a little less expensive than Lululemon with same quality of clothing. Sometime the store selection is not as good as their online store so I think you have to «shop» the store more — perhaps go on line first and write down the items you wish to see. I live in Tomball — wish they had a store in The Vintage.

Very large store with plenty of stock and inventory. Great store solar to lulemon. Store has plenty of great active wear.

Their customer service is lacking! If I’m going to spend $$ on their clothes, ask at least one time if I need any help. This happened about three different trips to their store! I will say their corporate customer service is top notch! :)

To be clear, this is a review for the store — I have been an enthusiastic Athleta online shopper for awhile now and absolutely love their clothes. They are of great quality and fit my post-kids body a lot better than Lululemon. I went to the store for the first time this weekend since I had something to return from an online purchase and wanted to exchange it for something on sale. I had several specific skorts in mind(their skorts are so cute and all really functional — I even distance run in them). No one greeted or offered to help me, but I finally flagged a salesperson down. They were helpful once I had their attention, but didn’t have any of the pieces I was looking for in my size. I did still find some things to buy and took them to the front hoping to just exchange them for the online return I had. Nope — they can only refund the original card with an online purchase. That’s annoying, but now I know. I give this store three stars, although I’m crazy about the brand. I found the customer service, inventory, and return policies all lacking in the store. With free shipping, returns, and a great inventory, I’ll shop online vs. coming in the store unless there is something I need ASAP.

You’re not at LuLuLemon, Dorothy! Athleta is what happens when The Gap tries to run an athletic apparel store. Selection and Quality: Athleta has a little bit of everything, from bathing suits to hiking wear, yoga to running wear. I was able to find a running skort, The Contender Skort, that I absolutely love, and the quality is pretty good too! The shorts under the skirt are longer than other brand name running skorts — good for preventing friction fires between your thighs — yet, still very fashionable and cute. My only complaint is that the skort is made from a slightly thicker material than other athletic brands. And, if you run in warm climates during the summer, you know that the thinner material can make a huge difference when it’s blazing hot outside. Still, I liked the way this skort fit so much, I overlooked that one minor detail. Customer service: Herein lies the reason why I gave this store 1 star. If you’re used to the stellar customer service of other athletic stores, such as LuLuLemon or REI, then do yourself a favor and lower your expectations before you even walk in to Athleta. Doing so will save you some disappointment and frustration. My friend and I walked around with an armful of clothing for about ten minutes, perusing the other sections of the store before deciding to go in search of a fitting room. Although, there were several sales associates circulating the store, not one associate asked either of us if we needed assistance or would like a fitting room. At the sports bra section, we actually had to put our clothes on the ground while we searched for our size. Meanwhile, multiple associates walked past us, none offering any assistance; in fact, one of the, was downright disgusted by the fact that she had to step over our pile of clothes on the floor. After a minute or two, a fitting room opened up, and we took it upon ourselves to move our clothes into a fitting room while we continued to look for our bra size. At this point, a sales associate came over and notice clothes in the dressing room and started to move them out. When we kindly told her that they belonged to us and we hadn’t tried them on yet, she huffed, put them down and walked away without saying a word. Needless to say, once in the dressing room, when I asked her to check for another size, she was clearly annoyed and inconvenienced. Will I return? No way. It’s a shame, as I was so excited to hear that Athleta was coming to the Houston area. While I do love my contender skort, I’d rather buy online and save myself the frustration of shopping at their storefront location.

For the most part, the breadth of their product line does not appeal to me. This is interesting since I’m pretty certain I fit their target market to a tee…38 yr. old female who is an avid hiker, traveler and yoga practitioner. Athleta is part of the Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy group if that gives you an idea of their concept. I buy from Gap and Banana Republic on a regular basis, mostly t-shirts and jeans for myself and my teenage son and occasional business attire. I almost always buy online though, hassle free with good customer service and return policy. My visit to Athleta was specifically to try their yoga pants on in person for fit, then I was going to make a huge purchase online. The yoga stuff is located in the back so I checked out most of the store before I got there. I didn’t see one bathing suit or pair of flip flops I would buy, which is a first for me(I have a flip flop fetish). I did however, see a cotton maxi dress I had to have! The problem was with the customer service. After selecting several garments to try(enough that my arm was hurting from carrying them all), I headed toward the dressing room where there appeared to be a line. There were two women waiting in front of me. There were 3, yes, I said THREE associates standing in the dressing room area and not one of them acknowledged me or the other two women. We all stood there for a lengthy amount of time, looking at each other in amazement. Finally I was given a room with no apology and absolutely no recognition of their poor customer service. No one checked on me the entire time and I needed a different size. I ended up sticking my head out the door where two of the associates were still trying in vain to assist another women with altering the length on a dress. It was like a «how many Athleta associates does it take to change a lightbulb» moment. They were clueless. I felt sorry for the women who was needing the alteration. One of the associates actually told her«why don’t you go home and get the shoes you plan on wearing with this dress and come back»…seriously? The women told them(for the second time) she didn’t know what shoes she was going to wear yet. So my head is out the door, right in front of all this going on, and those two ridiculous and inept women never turn to me and ask if I needed anything! I was literally looking them in the face… I obviously needed assistance, however, considering the situation, I did not feel like it was my place to insert myself in to the alteration debacle they were handling… they should have reached out to me. I shut the door, put my clothes back on and left. As I walked out, there was another line of women waiting, looking confused since NOONE was acknowledging them… I DID make an online purchase and am very happy with my yoga pants/tanks and that maxi dress. I’m just not sure I’ll rely on receiving good service at their brick and mortar.

There’s a range of high-quality athletic clothes, from lounging to yoga to swimming to running. For someone petite and slim, I’d say it’s harder to find the smaller sizes in stock. For a running top with more support, I needed an XS, but I couldn’t find one in the style shirt I liked. So I went with a different tennis-appropriate top in a S since this style was also out of XS, but when I went home, decided that the S was way too loose and made me just look frumpy. I think it’s good that they have such a variety of options for whatever sport you’re into, but it was a little hard for me to find something that fit JUSTRIGHT for paying $ 69. If it were under $ 50, I’d settle for something A-OK. But for $ 69, I’d want it to fit me well. I suspect their clothes are more appropriately tailored for perhaps larger and/or older women. The sales associates were very friendly and helpful, so that I appreciate.

Nice women’s all-around sport wear shop. While yoga seems to be the main focus these days, they also have a good selection of hiking gear and some items for other sports. When I came here I thought it might be a place to get nice gear, but not at that lulu price. Well, it’s definitely nice, but the price isn’t that much lower than lulu Those nice hiking pants? About $ 90. So why would I even come here or give it a good review. They have flattering yoga and sport wear for women in XL, 1x, and 2x. They will hem pants and alter items. They have nice sports bras, even some with underwires. The negative is that you can’t just grab your«size» and assume it will fit, even if another shirt or pant of the same size in the store fit you. I tried three shirts in the store, all XL. Two fit perfectly, but I couldn’t even get the third one over my shoulders! I even checked the size on the shirt to make sure they didn’t tag it wrong. The last negative is definitely the pricing. I think I’ll wait till they have a sale for my next trip. While it’s nice having one«cute» outfit for yoga, at $ 50+ per piece I think I would rather continue looking like a mismatched beached whale for a while!
