I visited this park for a community event, and I wasn’t impressed. It’s an outdated park, that definitely needs an upgrade. There children’s play area is small, and simple. There aren’t any swings, and maybe like two slides. The basketball court is cool, and seems to be a hit for teenagers. There isn’t much parking space, the lot is really small. There is only one covered picnic area, and it’s a nice size. It’s not a bad park, but in comparison to other parks in Houston is definitely would be considered left behind. The city of Houston needs to invest in this park!

There are lots of trees and lots of space for a picnic or some large event you have that will be safe and fun. Great place to enjoy the outdoors.

So I grew up in Alief. This area is not that greatest of neighborhoods. Amity Park is pretty ghetto by most standards. However, this park is actually well maintained. There are a lot of things to do here but the most famous thing is the basketball courts. So many street ballers have come through playing on these courts. This was Rashard Lewis’ backyard, well maybe not literally him but people of equal skill level that never refined their skills or had their head on right. A great park in the middle of a very bad area.
