This Rite Aid used to be a K&B. As soon as I entered, I was immediately transported back to my youth. K&B was the drug store of choice for my family growing up. When they were bought by Rite Aid, the old locations retained the traditional K&B layout. I haven’t been in one of the old stores in several years, so this trip was very special. If you have lived in South Louisiana for a long time, you will understand what I am talking about. If not, you can disregard this part of the review. Despite reminding me of my youth, on its own merits, this is a great store. I do not live in the Houma area, but I do find myself there on a somewhat frequent basis. It seems that I always need some sort of household item, and this is the store I go to. On my most recent trip I needed a bath towel(don’t ask). The store is well laid out, and it is easy to find what you are looking for. The staff at this store was very friendly. That seems to be a trend in Houma, and I have yet to meet an employee of any business who was not professional and very friendly. It is the kind of thing that makes me understand why it would be a great place to live. If you live in Houma, or are just passing through, this is a great place to stop if you’re in need of any items normally carried at a drug store. Note: This location does sell Houma T-Shirts. I highly recommend you buy one.
