This was my second time staying here and I only do so because of an event I attend here. I stayed last year and there were several issues including our room not being cleaned. This property is under new management but not much better. There is a pretty good breakfast buffet and soft beds. The lunch buffet was disgusting and the food in the attached restaurant not very good. Our tiny room located outdoors completely at the back of the hotel had a tiny bathroom and seemed very old. One staff member was not very friendly but the night receptionist was super sweet.

Everything from the beds, sinks, even the pillows are really low to the ground of are tiny as if this hotel was designed for dwarves. The dwarf beds were so mushy and uncomfortable that I repeatedly woke up throughout the night. The breakfast was first rate, though with a wide variety of hot food, though. We went out of our way to stay here as it had an indoor pool within the Choice Hotels brand. We were actually spending the day in Gonzales. Maybe next time we will just go to the Hampton.

Upon entering my room(219) I was hit with stale air as if I opened granny’s treasure chest hidden away in the attic by cobwebs. My room was clean just appeared to be unoccupied for many years. As Robert E. noted«The rooms were smelly…(11−08−10) I originally had one star but thanks to the refrig’, microwave, HDTV, Whirlpool and Swimming Pool I needed to be fair. The«hot breakfast» as it was described by the front desk was decent pancakes, eggs, sausage and grits. The location is near everything(1 mile) Walmart, Target, Books-A-Million, Academy, Olive Garden, Hooter, Twin Peaks and Chili’s

First of all don’t confuse this hotel with Quality Inn. I don’t believe there is any relationship. The rooms were smelly and dirty. The carpets were so dirty that my wife would not walk in her bare feet. I believe that a number of the workers cleaning the B.P. oil spill stayed there because of the smell in the room. You could also tell that they tried to mask the smoking in this non-smoking room. The pool/hot tub/game room was outside our door so quiet was not the order of the day. Thank goodness it all closed down at 10:00PM but there were still kids running around. In the morning I went to the desk to find a newpaper and the clerk gave me a copy that was 4 days old. I found one in the lobby that was a little more current. Two days old. If there was one good point it was the breakfast. They advertised a continental breakfast but to our delight it was a full, hot meal. If you want a cheap, nasty place to stay, this is it.
