Absolutely love this place! My family and I have been coming here for years and have had the same awesome server each time. Ashley G. always is a delight and gives the best service. My husband is originally from here and was afraid this place was built for the tourist, but I can honestly say it’s not only great but filled with locals. The roast beef poboy is the best in town per my son and whatever they have boiling is always great. My only suggestion is if it’s busy, ask for the water their boiling in to have more spice or they might come out a little bland from not letting them soak long enough. I highly recommend this place… ask for Ashley G and you won’t be disappointed with the food or service!

This recent visit may have been my 4th or 5th visit. It had been so long since my other visits though, that I didn’t even remember if I liked it. With that said, other than remembering the décor, it was like a first time for me. The décor is very Cajun. There is a large stuffed alligator standing up, there are Cajun jokes on the tables, and a whole role of paper towels for each table. I’m a Cajun girl and this is pretty authentic for a restaurant. We got a pound of boiled crawfish just to try. I loved the seasoning. They were spicy and tasty. The bloody mary was awesome! The veggies in it were nice, fresh, and crispy. We got onion rings per my husband’s envie. The onion rings are thin and were my not my husband’s favorite. He likes the thick ones. I usually don’t care for thin ones either because they get clumpy and greasy. These were not clumpy at all. They were crispy and not super greasy. We both got jumbo shrimp. Mine were grilled instead of fried. They were cooked to perfection. The seasoning was on point! The fried okra I got as a side was a little undercooked. It was very yummy but a little hard. The corn was cooked perfectly. If you are a corn eater like me, you know exactly what I mean. I hate getting over cooked corn on the cob. I bit into this corn and it was plump, crispy, and juicy! I can’t wait to go back to eat there!

Here we go again we went here for my birthday and the service was superb! I’ll tell my servers name at a later time my mom wrote it down on the comments card but she was downright great! I had the red snapper Robichaux„ i’m just see the pics for what my other family members had my mom had the fried shrimp platter my brother had the crabcake étouffée! Over all it was just so great! I love this place the only downer and I’m not going to give it any lower stars, because if it is that they need to increase the seating capacity.

Past this place for many years while working in the Houma area and never stopped to check it out. Always thought it was a tourist attraction. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. Had the seafood gumbo and potato salad and both were excellent. Loaded with seafood and paired nicely with an iced tea. Sadie was a great server and very prompt. Will definitely return.

Didn’t start out too great… Wasn’t even greeted at the door… after standing in front of 8 workers… finally one asked 4… still no welcome. Our waitress, Azaria, came to ask the drink order after a few minutes. She has been friendly. Had the fried pickles… they were fried great! One of us had the snow crabs, one had the red beans and another hushpuppies, saving room for dessert. The crabs were overdone… pretty good in taste, but I’ve had better. The corn was over cooked and th potatoes were not very tasty. The red beans and sausage was great.

My husband ordered the boiled crawfish. Although they were beautiful– we are both in agreement that they were quite bland. I ordered da big burger: dressed, add American cheese, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms. The Burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, and well-seasoned! The total cost(including tip) $ 40. Though they offer nothing spectacular– the offerings remind you of home and are usually spot on.

This place really impressed me. Excellent food(the frogs legs and red beans & rice are the best I’ve ever had), at fair prices and a friendly staff.

While on a job hunt, my husband and I see the sign and laugh about it, then see another sign and decide to stop because it was lunch time. We are both food junkies, so we agree would not hurt to try. When we pulled up we see frames on the exterior walls as we look at them, we realize it’s all boudreau and thibodeau jokes!!! How awesome! The interior is just as comforting and inviting as the outside. Greeted with friendly smiles, seated, and attended too quickly. Our server is training a new server and does awesome. We ordered from the lunch menu which is extended until 4pm, that is nice. We ordered the seafood special a signature item that is deliciously full of flavor!!! The redfish courtboullion(coobeyon), a side of fried okra as an app. The okra was fresh with a light batter. Both dishes were full of cajun flavor done right!!! My husband told our server that the cook needs a raise lol. The tables have jokes on them as well as the walls. There is a corner where you can buy merchandise. The whole interior is decorated to its name. The menu has jokes on them as well. The menu also is written in true cajun accent! Our bill came of $ 32, not bad for an awesome meal. Atmosphere, service. Also it is my birthday and they offer a sundae. The ice cream is vanilla bean my favorite!!! I enjoyed my little adventure with my amazing husband! We will be back!!!

My wife and I ate there a couple of weeks ago. The food was good, but we waited approx 15 minutes before anybody came to our table. There was less than 10 customers at the time(8:00PM during the week). Our waitress apologized and was very polite to us, but was still not very attentive. I’ll still go back, though. Normally the food and service is good.

Glad to have stopped for dinner here; enjoyed total experience. Casual, nice restaurant with a down south homey feeling. Jokes posted on table were humorous and entertaining. Loved the sweet potato fries and red snapper. Great Bloody Mary and excellent service. Would return upon return to this area.

One of my most favourite restaurants in the world. I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Amazing, local foods done by blending traditional recipes with modern ideas. Awesome! The best étouffée ever!

Yum. Ok I was hesitant to go here because of the giant sign and name. Was it gonna be gimicky or authentic? It was good! Wish I could lunch here more often. We started with chargrilled oysters and a bowl of seafood gumbo with potato salad. Both were sooo good. The half dozen oysters came with two big pieces of grilled bread to soak up the leftover butter and garlic sauce. The potato salad didn’t have enough texture. I don’t get to have that with gumbo often though so I was still excited. They do these half and half lunch platters where you can get fried stuff as well as random Cajun and creole classics. I did half fried shrimp and shrimp creole with a side salad.(And if you’re following my other reviews — yes, I ate fried shrimp two days in a row. I was in Houma!) I could’ve done with more shrimp in the shrimp creole. It was mostly rice and tomatoes. Our server was great. Food came out fast and the iced tea went down smooth(lol).

BESTCRAWFISHAROUND!!! I love this place. When ever I’m in town working you can bet you’ll see me stuffing my face here. Lunch menu is great and dinner is even better… bigger portions of the same deliciousness. I ate more crawfish this season than I’ve eaten in my entire life combined, and this place was as good as I could find them. Great size, fair price, and seasoned perfectly. I ate there three nights in a row and just kept getting crawfish. There are other places that are good in town, but this is my spot. It should be yours too.

My first time in Houma, I had hopes of running into R.J. and Jay Paul from Swamp People, being it their hometown and all, I wasn’t so lucky. Boudreau & Thibodeau, sits right on Hwy 20, not a place I would normally stop to eat, but glad we did — It was good: in my best Louisiana cajun accent: Authentic eating here. My man being from Louisiana, he quickly ordered us up some local cuisine, which consisted of… Fried Frog Legs, Gator, and a few other things I would never knew people ate. Country living vs City living. My first time eating frog legs, and it was actually very good. Not exactly like chicken, but close. I wouldn’t be opposed to eating some again. If you ever find your way to Houma, Louisiana, it’s definitely worth a stop in. You never know, you might just get to meet R. J and Jay Paul.

The grilled oysters are great! The flavor is awesome and just the right amount of garlic and cheese. Gumbo is a good safe bet. Deep roux with plenty of seafood. The étouffée was good also, not as warm as I would cared for.

We tried almost everything and loved it! Frog legs, seafood and chicken gumbo, Boudreau’s special, seafood platter, onion rings, crawfish kickers, and more. It was all delicious! The service was also great and the restaurant was pretty full. We traveled a ways to find good Cajun eating and were very happy we chose this place!

Thank you to Mercedes for her excellent, on point service. We were sat without delay at a very big table with plenty of space. None of our plates were close to overlapping either. Which meant there was room not only to do a little paperwork but also to see all the cajun jokes on the table mat(under glass; clean with no grease smears). Service is prompt. Out waitress served 1 sweet tea and 2 unsweet without mixing them up, and even made sure to refill when half full. The appetizer of crab dip, which is like spinach and artichoke but with crab, arrived instantaneously, so fast the even the server was surprised, but perfectly timed with share plates. My green salad with remoulade sauce was just like they say: a green salad with remoulade. A good little amuse bouche really. Because the meal just flew out. And the shrimp fettucinni pasta was spicy, warm, and creamy. Dessert was in house pecan bread pudding. All in all, great atmosphere, food and service. There is nothing different I would want to see in this restaurant.
