Love love love it here! They are truly committed to improving the community. Super friendly, knowledgeable, great atmosphere, they have everything.
I love that they strive to get as many goods, meat, produce, ect from local sources.
Can not say enough good things.

Great selection of healthy goods. The prices are very reasonable too. Love the grass fed meats and local veggies and honey. Keep up the good work. South Louisiana needs more healthy food.

It’s taken me awhile to write my review and I’m actually glad that I waited…
Wait…back up… is there actually a health food store/​Yoga/​art gallery/​cooking demo/​massage place in the Bayou?!
Yep Yep… hard to believe, but it is indeed true.
Anela’s open for now just over a year has grown as the community has embraced it’s inner health self. They offer a myriad of different Yoga styled classes, The grocery has grown leaps and bounds (now offering produce boxes, selected meats and more local products).
I was so happy to see so many of the familiar products that I would purchase in California and then in Nola, available right here in the bayou. They carry a great selection of grocery and non-​grocery products.
On a recent visit, I was there to participate in a monthly event called «Heaven and Hell» an artist showcase of musicians, poets, dancers and visual artists. Organizers use one of the many studios for their event. I saw this as the perfect time to pick up the necessary groceries that I needed and enjoyed a family friendly evening of fun.
They do however sell artwork everyday by local artists, that is displayed in the main hall and through out the retail area. Who doesn’t love a small business that supports the arts?
I still need to attend one of the many cooking demos they host, where a local chef will take you through the steps of creating magic in your own kitchen. I also need to get a massage, who doesn’t need a message… right?
The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable on classes and products sold…
So if you’re considering getting your Health On… Anela’s is the place for you…

Love the workers, the groceries, the location and the quality. Great experience. It’s truly the only organic grocery store in Houma. Nice selection of items. They have a yoga studio and feature local artists in their poetry meetings.

Anela’s is a fantastic little gem that I am grateful to have found.
They have a lot of really great all natural and organic products from essential oils and personal care products to food for humans as well as pets. Although, they are slightly pricey, there are plenty of specialty items you can get in a pinch.
What I believe Anela’s is most popular for are their yoga classes and massage therapy offerings. I have yet to indulge myself in these services, but I look forward to taking advantage of them soon.
What I love MOST about Anela’s is that they offer produce boxes. Options include a 10lb Vegetable Box, 10lb Fruit Box, 10lb Combination (Veg & Fruit), or a 20lb Combo box. Although not all produce is local (or even from US), it is all organic. At $ 35 for a 10lb box and $ 55 for a 20lb box, prices are somewhat fair on most weeks (the offerings change week to week). There have been several boxes I’ve gotten where one or two items have been rotten, but Anela’s does offer to replace bad produce with fresh items they carry in the store. It is up to you to check your box before you leave, though.
I am excited to have added Anela’s to my list of go-​to markets!
