This is a charming restaurant right on Central Ave. It loses some charm with the giant flat screen TV. During our visit it was muted to the Food Network(The Slog Truck). They refused to turn off the giant distraction. A separate music system is on some sort of loop, as we heard the same song«In The Mood» more than once. They have an extreme menu — Jambalaya Pasta, Filet Mignon, Salmon, Burgers, etc… it’s obvious this new place is looking to discover, «What sells». The croutons were reconstituted from the breadsticks. They were much better as croutons. The Caesar Salad lacked any kick. My Jambalaya sauce was good but I am still searching for the meat and fish. The Filet was good but the cauliflower seemed out of place. It is a new place and we hope it succeeds but the staff is not empowered to do anything. They checked with the owner/Chef/whoever every time we asked about something — TV — mashed for baked, open for breakfast, etc… As we finished our meal, The Slog Truck was ending, the Piano Bar was competing with Karoake and«In The Mood» seemed to slip away…

This little spot inside the Springs Hotel is wonderful! I had the most amazing rainbow trout, perfectly tender, fresh and delicious. I tried my sister’s pasta as well and it was amazing. Everything here is made from scratch and the owner takes great pride in that. The owner, the chef and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and generous… giving us free dessert. Strawberry cheesecake and a chocolate cheesecake, both delicious. They also run the little martini lounge, Oscars, off the hotel lobby. This place should be packed every night in my opinion. It’s the best meal I’ve ever had in Hot Springs.
