Wonderful place in Hot Springs. If you like German food, you will like this. Cabbage Rolls are great, sauerkraut is the best, try the German meat balls. Outdoor seating is very nice. I wish we had a place this good in Dallas/Fort Worth.

I saw a German restaurant and thought we should give it a try. I am German and let me tell you, this is nowhere close to what food tastes like(or even should taste like with ingredients in another country). It’s always hard to create the authentic flavor, but the only thing I enjoyed was the Erdinger Hefeweizen beer, which was refreshing. They do have a large German beer selection, which is worth coming back to if in the area, but the food was not good. My husband and I both were glad we split the entrée. We started with the asparagus soup, which was made out of green asparagus(unheard of in Germany) and was thick as gravy. Even for a cream soup this was too much! The Jägerschnitzel was bland, the breading was more like a thick crust around the meat. We had potato pancake and Bratkartoffeln(fried potatoes) as a side. The potato pancake was more like hash browns with some green onion and bacon in it. Greasy and bland. The fried potatoes were nothing like German Bratkartoffeln and looked like they came frozen out of a bag. This was the most money spent on least German food so far.

This was the best food I have had in a really long time, holy cow just take my word for it! If you do not visit this place while you are here you are missing out! Awesome entertainment from the band. The blue schnitzel was to die for! Got to go finish my grub, I just had to take a moment and tell you how awesome it is.

Stopped in today to have a few beers and some food… Spoke with our waiter, older gentleman that I really knew his beer and food. Ordered a few different items including the sausage and cheese tray. The service and food was top notch. We will definitely return.

Amazing. We read all negative reviews before coming and gave it the shot. Service was nice when they were there– sometimes few and far between– but friendly staff and responsive. Food was excellent! It was a long wait time, an hour between ordering and receiving entrees. But we had an appetizer– cabbage roll which was off the chart amazing. Despite some negative reviews about it on here, we tried and really really delicious. They had a small band playing and it was very entertaining as well. All in all I would love to come back!

Best restaurant in Hot Springs, and really some of the best German food you will find stateside. I enjoyed the Jägerschnitzel with Spätzle. My wife really liked the Goulash, and there were even authentic offerings for the Kinder(many restaurants only let the kids order hamburgers and chicken strips) — my daughters enjoyed the Wurst, Frikadellen, and Käsespätzle. Dessert was Apfelstrudel and Kirschtorte, which were both excellent. The waiter didn’t speak German, but the food certainly did.

YOUMUSTEATHERE! I honestly haven’t reviewed in a while but needed to for this restaurant. They captured German food expectations. I definitely recommend a schnitzel and the red cabbage(steamed with cranberries: D)! The German potato salad is to die for. Also sharing a pretzel as an appetizer along with our German beers(lambic you gotta try!) was a must. Everything came out quickly and our waitress was truly knowledgeable! The pork shank was also delectable! You’ve got to eat here!

Just left after waiting over an hour for our food. The service was spotty, but they seemed very busy. Our order got lost due to «an Internet error.» The manager was nice and did take some off the bill, which gained an extra star. The food, when it finally arrived, was good. I had the Black Forest schnitzel which was slightly over cooked or over breaded. It was good, though. My wife got the filet, which looked perfectly cooked. My daughter, who was more patient than me, got the sausage plate. If I were to go back, I would probably get that, as well. So if everything had come out on time and if the service was more consistent through the night, this place would have been four stars. However it is now 10:30 and we arrived at 7:30, so it is lucky to get two.

I’m German, and for the last couple of years have managed a German resteraunt. With that being said this place was pretty good. I was disappointed to not to see veal shnitzel on the menu, but the pork definitely did the job. The highlights of the meal where a great german beer selection, the hot pretzel, and the impeccable service. Will definitely eat here again, while passing through Hot Springs.

I’m so glad this place has a new owner! The food went from freezer meals to AMAZING! I’m a local and I love the Keller. The pork chips were nothing short of perfect with puffy noodles that are to die for. The service is very good too! Every time I eat her I’m not disappointed and the beer is amazing. So glad this place has been re-vamped and is in our town!

I have mixed feelings about this place. I like the ambience of the basement feel– but can’t stand the musty smell of the place. On our last visit, the cabbage rolls and mashed potatoes were delicious. My niece ordered a salad and as she was taking a bite, a black bug crawled up a piece of lettuce. I realize that could happen anywhere, but it just kind of turned me off for awhile. Just not my fave. If you like German food, I would def recommend trying it.

I was lured by the idea of German beer. Close enough I went for the hirter morchl on draft. Recommended by the bartender, it was Dark, cold and tasty. For my meal I had braised beef-sauerbraten. For sides I chose the the potato cakes and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were served with a nice cheese sauce. The potato cakes were also good. The beef however was magnificent. It was tender enough to cut with a fork and the wine sauce and seasonings were superb. Only the second time I’ve had German food so I can’t comment on the authenticity. I can say it was a great meal and I look forward to coming back. The cost was fair.

Great Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese. Pretzel was hot and covered with tasty spices. The cheese was thick and delicious. Also served with a side of German mustard.

Had a great dinner. Braised red cabbage excellent, well cooked wurst not greasy, very nice spatzle light and tender. The rest of our group of 8 enjoyed their dinner; stuffed cabbage, meatloaf bites, hamburger. More importantly was the service. We were told when seated that our waitress was the only one in the dining room and there were four other tables. Our waitress was efficient and went out of her way to take care of our table and make a great birthday experience. We will return again on our next visit to Hot Springs.

What a great jewel for this tiny town in Hot Springs, AR. Nestled in the basement level of a old building you have the choice of seating inside where the atmosphere takes you into Germany. I love that’s it’s in the basement level like all great hidden places in Europe that wait to be discovered by the lucky tourist. Or you can sit in an open court yard outside where we brought our four legged child. Taste? Been to a few places in Germany I would say this place holds up to being authentic in taste. I had the jäger schnitzel. a favorite of mine and this one was good! the cabbage wraps were awesome as well. the beer, perfect! Will be back.

Went back again and our experience was completely opposite. Cabbage rolls were so tough you couldn’t cut through them. Beer on tap: grapefruit flavored and Shandy, only 2. Maybe a bad day? Notvsure, off to a different place our next visit.

Everything here was amazing! We all had to taste everything and pass around plates. Kids German mac n cheese was so creamy! Do the brat, the white sausage, meatloaf, Brussels sprouts were creamy, service was so kind with our 7 kids and 4 moms
