Giving a 3 due to the initial slow service, but it got better and refills came promptly. The food is EXCELLENT! If they elevated the service, 4 or 5 easy!

My favorite place to eat hands down when I visit Hot Springs. My only complaint is I don’t get it enough.

Hot Springs practically has a Mexican restaurant on every corner, but Don Juan is by far my favorite. They now have 3 locations(Albert Pike, Hot Springs mall & Malvern Ave), so there’s one close no matter which part of town you’re in. The queso blanco is wonderful and the chicken soup is the best I’ve ever had. I always get fast, friendly service and the menu is very extensive. I’m never disappointed.

Great tasting food all around and can’t believe the prices(compared to California prices), went with my family and had several appetizers and all tasted great(chilli cheese fries, chips and two salsas, cheese dip, guacamole, ceviche), being mexican and from California, I know what good mexican food should taste like. My personal dinner dish was delicious, Chipotle chicken combination. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone and if I should visit hot springs again, this would be my go to restaurant in Hot Springs., almost forgot to mention how good the churros were for dessert.

First time here, ordered chicken fajitas. Food was fresh and really well seasoned. I prefer a chunkier salsa rather than a puréed one but overall the food was excellent. The service was fast and friendly and the portions were large. If I’m ever in Hot Springs with a craving for Mexican food I would definitely go back here.

Came to eat for lunch with my family and ordered the guacamole and the cup of chili as an appetizer. Guacamole tasted like it came out of the bag, not fresh for sure and the chili tasted like it came out of a can literally, definetely not homemade Mexican chili. I had the large burrito and it was the worst I ever had, meat tasted like rubber and it didn’t had any flavor at all, not even salt and pepper. When I send my cup of chili back, a minute later our sever came back with the same chili, saying that her manager Delfina said, I must pay for the chili since I ordered. I told my server, that was fine, I still don’t want it. Restaurant was very clean, we appreciate that. Our server Rosi was very kind and very attentive. Her service was great. But it is very obvious that this restaurant is run by a very ignorant management team and the ownership as well for not training her managers properly. I’m here for a couple days and will not visit this place again. I will not recommend this place to anyone. By the way I had to ask for the manager’s name, since she didn’t bother to check on us.

The food was ok, not really authentic Mexican, but different from the usual Mexican place.

A friend and I had lunch here yesterday. This is the newest Don Juan’s, there are two other locations. The prices have gone up at least $.75 on every menu item, which would not bother me except they have cut the amount of food back. So you are paying more for less. The service was so bad I had to get up and go find someone to help me, which I had to do more than once. We both love Don Juan’s and will continue to eat their yummy food, just not at this location. The overall experience sucked.

While passing though Hot Springs we stopped to eat here based on others reviews. They were spot on as being a nice place to eat. Great chips & salsa with tasty white cheese dip. Wife had chicken quesadilla and had no complaints. The tacos were good flavored w seasoning ground beef. Rice was good as well. Service was outstanding at all times. I would highly recommend stopping by.

Hot Springs is not lacking in the choices for Mexican restaurants. I’m a fan of Unilocal and found this thru the site. Being from San Diego I can vouch for authentic mexican food and this place hits the mark. Not much to look at from the outside, it’s in a small strip mall but once we opened the doors we found the place packed and it was lunch time. We will surely be back for more good food. Olé’

I love Don Juan’s food. I love their Enchilada’s Verdes and their a Chicken Fajitas. Their salsa is great too. However, I’ve gotten sick there a couple of times, so I’ve been afraid to try it again. If I knew I wouldn’t get sick again, I’d love to try it again, as miss their Mexican food.

I had the taco salad with ground beef for lunch — minus tomatoes add jalapeños. The shell that it comes in was very good — light and crispy! Just the right amount of beef, cheese dip, and lettuce. I could have used more shredded cheese and less sour cream, but that is a personal preference. The salsa and chips were good. The sweet tea was very sweet just like I like it. My waiter was Leo, and he was great. Bottom line… a very tasty and filling lunch for only 7.55 plus tax!

First… don’t be fooled by the dark tinted windows filled with beer lights. I almost decided not to go in with the fam… looked like a biker bar from the outside. Glad I took a chance. Great décor, excellent service, reasonable prices, above average food ! Home run in my opinion. Tried the special combo #1. Enough food for 2 – 3 people and all very good.

It took them 20 minutes to even come take our drink orders. They were no where near busy. When the waiter finally started taking our drink orders, he turned us down on 3 of our drinks stating he didn’t have time! Customer service has gone straight downhill. They used to be great, but after our last 3 times there, it has been horrible. Food was terrible too, my sisters fajita nachos was a mess, it had super watery, soggy chips, and they were completely uncooperative about fixing the problems. DONOTGOTHERE.

My wife and I were on a mini vacation and I found this great restaurant searching nearby locations on Unilocal. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent, portions were bountiful. Our waiter Leo was great. We will go again if we are back in Hot Springs!

My dad and I were on a little mini vacation to this area and wanted to eat somewhere we’ve never been to before. We wanted Mexican food and decided on this place based on the other reviews we’ve seen on this place. It seems everybody else knows what they’re talking about. The food was great as well as the prices and the service. The portions they give you are wonderful for the money spent. The prices are very reasonable. It may look like like a hole on the wall from the outside but don’t let that fool you. It was a very clean restaurant. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

The queso blanco dip is delicious! It’d be easy to get carried away and make a meal out of that dip by itself! The enchiladas and pork tamales are really good. Also try the wet burrito(burrito smothered in in sauce).

I not only eat here but I also do business with them. I am in and out of restaurants through out the area on a very constant basis. These folks have really done a great job getting all of the points of interest in a restaurant right! They are quick to tables… smiling service. Salsa is good(not the best ever but I hate cilantro) –I know I’m weird. Their Margarita’s are inexpensive and«do the job». Their menu is very comprehensive and low priced! DEFINITELY A RECOMMENDATION!

I dream about this place… Ever since I moved to TX, I can’t find anywhere quite like it. My favorite thing is the shrimp nachos. It’s a big ol plate of chips topped with queso and grilled shrimp. The shrimp marinate in some sort of delicious red stuff. It comes with a few other toppings but I like it simple. It’s fantastic. I make sure to eat there every time I come to visit. It’s my absolute favorite! There is a creepy waiter there though. He once commented that I had ‘beautiful feets’. Just gimme the dang nachos…
