In town for a quick getaway from the kids and the rush of every day life, we chose the Candlewood based on previous chain experience and price. The location, on AR7 about a mile north of the US270 bypass is impossible to see from the highway, so those from out of town, just take it on trust that the hotel is there. If you ARE coming from the highway, the turn into the hotel is rather dangerous, with the crest of a hill just a few feet away. Smaller cars should take extra caution. Checkin was a breeze — literally 3 minutes. The front desk staff was cheerful and on each interaction was helpful and kind. There is a gym, business center and convienence store on-site for travellers who may need those things. Like other convience stores, this one is way over priced($ 1.25 for a small bag of Lays potato chips). Our room, while a studio, was larger than your typical motel room. It included a fridge, micrwave, stove, dishwasher and all that stuff, along with a full-size closet and large bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the TV was ok – NOHD, not even LOCALOTA. The best part of the room, in my mind, is the WIRED internet. No, you still can’t plug a router to it and get the chromecast to work(has one of those stupid web-based password gates) and the bandwidth is pitiful(I tried streaming a football game to no avail), but it is wired and allows uninterrupted browsing. Overall, I give this property a 9⁄10. Fix the internet, get rid of the stupid password-gates that serve absolutely no purpose except to annoy people, and get HD channels and I’ll gladly change this to a 10.

Clean rooms but ants were in bathroom. Double bed wasn’t very comfy for two… sagged toward middle. A/C was not working well. Has cool things to borrow like board games & crick pots. Staff friendly.

I will start with the positives — it is clean, has a fitness room, the suite had frig, microwave, reclining chair and 2-eye cooktop. There was also a HD flat screen TV and complementary laundry. The negatives are there was a musty smell as we entered from the parking lot and the quality sucks. The bed was a hard thin mattress on cheap box springs(back and sides hurt from just a few hours of sleep). The fitness«room» was more like a closet(too small for four large fitness machines). The actual closet had wire shelves barely attached to the wall. The cooktop was an in-counter double hot plate and the recliner had jacketed up springs that popped when you sat full in the chair(must be less than 100 lb for comfort). Way too pricey for quality($ 100 or more a night). Also it is independently owned which I have come to associate with not following the quality of the name brand or not under the franchise rules of quality.

Beware of these people! They cost about 100.00 per night, but are worth about 30.00. They double billed me and refused to resolve or refund. Look at other review sites if you don’t see many here. They apparently double Bill quite often. Also trying to communicate with them is like calling India for tech support(literally). You get no where!

Nice extended stay hotel. We had a standard room with double beds. Room was very spacious. Beds were quite comfortable. Nice staff. Rooms have a full-size fridge w/icemaker, range, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker. Also have DVD players in the room. Located near a putt-putt course with go-karts for those traveling with kids. Also near Oaklawn.
