First thing, I like Dr McPhillips, he is a good dr but I’m not happy about his front office staff. Most recently, when I arrived, the front office person was nose deep in her text on her phone, didn’t even acknowledge me and simply says sign in without looking up. I had a question about billing I had mentioned several times. We should not be paying a copay for our annual checkups; yet she continually just keeps saying«sorry, insurance says you do». Finally after reviewing our policy yet again, I advised again that we do not. She prints a receipt saying we do. I asked her to look into it and she says that’s my responsibility. So, I call insurance company and sure enough — we don’t owe a copay. They advised that she is putting it through incorrectly. I call and advise, she says«ok, will call you back». 5 days later I call to follow up, she has no idea what I’m talking about and says I’ll call you back again. I understand that mistakes can be made, sometimes someone is having a bad day, etc, but at least OFFER to investigate the discrepancy. LOOK at people when they come in in case they have a question before signing in. Waiting to hear how we will get back the $ 105 owed back to us. Again, not against the Dr, he is wonderful, but billing and front office is a lot of the experience as well.

Update: September 2,2015 I Have been trying to speak to Dr McPhillips for over two weeks but he does not return calls in response to my request as to why he charged us $ 1,600. For a procedure performed on my son that was unnecessary, temporary and not covered by our insurance because the procedure is not generally accepted or recognized by the medical community. We were made to believe that this procedure was urgent and necessary with no other treatment options available.. Not true. A warm compress and drops would have had the same effect for about $ 20.00. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Too bad the doctor does not have the common decency to return my call. Very disappointed in their scare tactics and high pressure to have a useless procedure performed on my son. Very Unprofessional.

I have been going to Primary Eyecare for years and have always had a positive experience. Dr. McPhillips always takes his time and explains everything. All the staff is polite and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

Super friendly, knowledgeable staff. Comfortable and nice location. We love the ortho-keratology option for my active teenage daughter. She only puts in her contacts every other night in order to have perfect vision for 2 – 3 days straight. No contacts during the day and no glasses. Yee Haa!

…ANDTHESAGACONTINUES four and a half months later. Hey, Billing Department, remember how it took four phone calls to you and three weeks of you dodging my calls till we finally spoke, at which point you lied to me? Remember how my bill was wrong and it was your fault, but the Doctor told you to tell me it was fine and«we are even»? Guess you don’t because I just came home from work to a bill from your office. Thanks. I am so glad I went to your office for help. Awesome first visit. Did I say«never again»?

Staff is unfriendly. Went there on the day computers were down and it was complete chaos. In addition, purchased contacts and eye glasses and was over charged. Definitely could have purchased them elsewhere for a more reasonable price.
