Double Vision

Double Visions is one of my favorite neighborhood hunts. Like every club you are going to have nights where you are not a fan of the line up but over all it is usually very good. The one thing Doubles does better then most clubs is the features they book. A lot of clubs will book someone no one has ever heard of just to save a few bucks. Double Visions always does a good job of booking big names. Another hidden gem is their Golden Tee Machine! Jay and the staff are always very friendly. I highly recommend stopping in sometime!

This is my neighborhood strip club, but I am not a regular. I go a few times a year.
Rectangular bar with two stages in the middle. Girls go from one stage to the next and then make their tip parade around the inside of the bar. To tip, which you must, you have to reach way over the bar.
There isn’t much seating other than at the bar. There are a few high top tables in the back. And that’s about it.
The girls seem much more friendly to the regulars and to someone they don’t know. Many of the girls stay in the back, emerge for their two songs, get your dollar and then go off to the back. You don’t see them again until their next song. Some girls hang out with their regular until it is their turn. Then they go back to drinking and smoking with their regular.
If you like a place where you can sit and watch the girls from afar, this isn’t a place for you. If you like a place where the girls flirt, and sit on your lap, before asking for a dance, this place isn’t for you.
Girls are cute for the most part.
Always people in there but I’ve never seen it so crowded I couldn’t get a seat. You can smoke in there.
Lap dances are $ 20/​3min as I recall. If you get 4 songs, you get a free drink.

They have pretty girls but the management sucks and the bartenders can be a tad bitchy. Stage is small and it’s pretty bright in there. Way more of a regulars hangout

When I heard that the poles and stage were behind the bar I was pretty skeptical. I had been to 7^th Heaven, which has a similar set up, and was completely let down. Let me tell you, Double Visions is great. Nice service, good looking girls, decent prices for drinks and easy to find and park. My only complaint would be the dances. My wife and I were there with another couple. For a couple to get a dance it is $ 40 as opposed to the normal $ 20, and you only get the one dancer. So we all got our own dances, which were a little short. All in all though a great experience and I plan to go back.

The Low Down
Imagine for a moment your favorite neighborhood bar… you know, that little hole in the wall down the street where you would go to unwind, have a few drinks, chat with the bartenders, play some darts and perhaps grab a six-​pack on your way out the door. Throw in a couple of poles in the bar area, some lovely topless dancers and couches on the side and you have Double Visions. I arrived at the club at around 9:00pm on a busy Friday night, not my usual time for club reviews but I decided to mix things up so I could meet up with alt porn star Joanna Angel to schedule an interview with her for my blog.
Location & Facilities — 4 Stars
Double Visions is located on Route 611 in Horsham, PA, near the former Willow Grove Naval Air Station and minutes from Willow Grove, Doylestown and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The club is accessible by both car and SEPTA public transportation. While I wouldn’t normally give a club four stars in the Location & Facilities category for these features alone, it should be noted that Double Visions happens to be a «locals» gentlemen’s club, and the only gentlemen’s club for many, many miles. Unlike most gentlemen’s clubs, Double Visions features a large number of flat screen TV’s to catch up on sports, but no dedicated champagne room; you’re limited to couch dances from the dancers. Oh, and be sure to tip your dancers when they walk around the bar area after their stage show.
Staff — 4 Stars
For a busy Friday night, I have to say that the staff was courteous, friendly and respectable. I had a great time chatting with Rachel, one of several bartenders taking care of us that evening.
Food & Drink — 3.5 Stars
Unlike most of the high-​end gentlemen’s clubs in Philadelphia, with their elaborate menus and bar selection, Double Visions offers a small menu of appetizers and main entrees. The menu is designed to offer customers a quick bite if they’re hungry, not to wine and dine business contacts. I started off with the pierogies as an appetizer, not baked but fried, but wasn’t that impressed. By the time I had ordered my main course the kitchen was out of a couple of the entrees that I had hoped for, so I settled for a very delicious chicken parmesan sandwich. The one thing that impressed me about Double Visions is their craft beer selection; a hard thing to find amongst the staple domestics and imports that you’ll find at most gentlemen’s clubs.
Dancers — 4 Stars
The dancers, mostly Caucasian girls but with a few other ethnicities thrown into the mix, tend to be on the younger side and many of them had a number of tattoos. I happen to be quite a fan of girls with ink, so I was pleasantly surprised. You won’t be disappointed if you’re not a fan of girls with ink as there were a few of them there that didn’t have any, but be forewarned as to not be disappointed. Towards the end of the evening I went back for three dances with the tattooed and pierced beauty Tempest, who certainly didn’t disappoint.
Value — 5 Stars
The couch dances at Double Visions are a reasonable $ 20.00 each per song. Unfortunately, as stated above, there is no champagne court or VIP area so you’re limited to couch dances. I found the food and drink prices to be reasonable, with a number of drink specials posted around the bar area. The cover charge was $ 10.00, in part due to Joanna Angel’s performance that night.

For being a smaller establishment, Double Visions has a simple website with all of the standard information such as hours, address, directions, specials, listings up upcoming adult entertainment appearances and even pictures of three of the dancers. The website also links to a Facebook page so you can keep up to date on the latest happenings.
In Brief…
Double Visions isn’t as big, glitzy or glamorous as some of the larger gentlemen’s clubs in and around Philadelphia, but the dancers and staff excel at offering a fun, unpretentious experience in a laid back atmosphere. If you’re looking for that «corner bar» feeling with friendly girls to keep you company, then Double Visions is the place for you.

Double Visions is about the size of the Northeast Club Risqué in Philly. A rectangular bar surrounds two low stages, each with a pole, as well as an aerial hoop suspended between them (points for that. Completely new to me, though only one dancer put it to use. I’m guessing Lilith is the only reason that they installed it.). Couch dance room is located to the rear left of the bar and contains two rows of couches with high dividers facing each other with a light, sheer curtain between the two. No privacy at all and if it’s busy you will have to tip-​toe your way past the dancers to your couch. The vibe is that of a strip bar rather than a strip club
The girls were very attractive the evening of my visit, much more attractive than I was expecting. They seemed to be hanging with regulars or sitting with other dancers toward the back of the bar though which made getting any attention a bit difficult. Each girl did one song on each stage before coming around the inside of the bar for tips. They weren’t too pushy on the dollar parade and would take what I gave them without pushing for an extra buck or two.
The downfall of this club is the lap dances. There is a no-​touching policy when it comes to the customers. Fine. I’ve had no-​touch dances before that were quite enjoyable (I’m looking at you King of Diamonds near Minneapolis, MN) but these dances were probably 50% air dances and very unsatisfactory. All in all I was pretty disappointed with the trip. Maybe Double Visions is more fun if you are a regular but I will not be making a trip back. There are plenty of Philly clubs that offer much more enjoyable dances for the same money.

Not sure why they don’t call this place a Gentleman’s Club because it is the same as all the clubs in Philly. The dancers hound you for lap dances and won’t let you relax and enjoy your drink. The girls are pretty but they’re a pain to listen to.
The place is run by mobsters called the Catagnus brothers whose father did federal time for a felony and can’t have the liquor license in his name. The cops wait for you to leave and pull you over to check for DUI. Be careful. There was another shooting there yesterday.

Double Vision had the most genuinely beautiful collection of strippers I’ve seen. All of them were between an 8 and a 10. One slightly Asian-​looking girl with short brown hair and a blonde valley girl who looked like she’d been time-​warped there from California in the 80’s were both unreal.
And while the girls were really beautiful, they weren’t particularly «hot». It felt like the girls knew they were pretty, and therefore didn’t need to interact with patrons in the way you get at other clubs. They seemed kind of aloof. Their dances were athletic, but not necessarily sexual. There was such a disconnect between dancers and patrons that, after the girls finished their dances, they came around for tips from inside the bar (so there was very little interaction) — And the bar was so wide that the girls had trouble even taking the tips. The dancer and I leaning over the bar to give the tip became an awkward joke each time they came around. Also, I like some variety at strip clubs (in terms of dancers’ sizes and ethnicities), and all the girls were thin and either White or Asian. Also, I personally prefer a little grittiness in a strip club.
If you like clean, well-​lit, non-​raucous clubs, this is your place.
Overall, the girls were incredible, and the experience was pretty cheap. Personally though, I felt more like I was sitting at a college-​kid bar that just happened to have topless girls dancing than at a normal strip club. This would be a great place to go for a couple who wants to try out going to a strip club together for the first time, but not if you like the weird, fun interactions with dancers that you get at less classy places.
