We stopped here for lunch on our way home to Oregon. The food was so good! We really enjoyed the home style atmosphere and the service was wonderful! We will be back again.

Great food. Love going there when my family comes up to visit. It definitely has an old school country family feel.

By far the best burgers I’ve had in all of Siskiyou County. Third of a pound of juicy tender hamburger paired with melted pepperjack cheese, grilled onions on a buttery potato bun with cooked to perfection seasoned fries, it was delicious. Also staff was friendly, quick and made me feel at home. I went back the next day I enjoyed it so much. Don’t miss out on this !

Their food is okay, but expensive for what it is. They also started offering Fiesta Fridays last year on only the days which our volunteer run grange offers a fund raising taco night. Seems pretty lame to try to poach customers from a long standing community fund raiser.

We stopped here on our trip from Oregon to SF. The cook and the server were super friendly and the food was delish! I had biscuits and gravy and my husband had chicken fried steak with bacon on the side. YUUUMMM! Next road trip we go on will include a stop to J&D!

Off the freeway between Yreka and Ashland is the obscure hamlet of Hornbrook, that is also the name for the unusual geologic rock composition in the area. The diner serves the locals, fisher people and others who are able to find it, even on Sundays. I had a good Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with a side of golden, fires made just right, crispy crust and soft inside. Other side options are potato salad, cottage cheese, onion rings. I had been here some months before and the food is consistently good in a plain country café style.

If your from this town I’m sure you’ve been here, considering the town of hornbrook only has a population of 248 people. If you are passing by, this is a must stop the people are friendly as can be and the food was great. I got the stuffed hash browns and I suggest you do the same! Seriously GOHERE! Oh and side note the whole town has a beautiful view.

This place was a hoot with a group of locals playing Cribbage… and nobody else in there– that didn’t stop me from ordering the Big Mama– double bacon cheeseburger with all kinds of other business including possibly a slice of processed salami… Delicious(the patties seemed to be of the preformed box version) still tasty– just what I needed an off the beaten path burger. I wanted the meatloaf special but I was told it was not ready… dang! I won’t become a local driving to Eugene every 7 years– but I liked this place
