Watch your bill when Blake is behind the bar. He claims my husband had 6 bottle beers in a one hour time period. No F’n way, my husband would be on the floor. Loud. Obnoxious. Which he was not. So watch your bill or pay as you go when Blake is bartender.

Your typical bar with typical apps, burgers, pizza, salads, sandwiches, etc. this place is very close to where I live which is basically the only reason why I come here. I haven’t had any bad experiences with their food. I recommend their burgers, sandwiches, ribs, and fish and chips. However, at times their customer service is lacking. Sometimes I feel like I’m being ignored. They would take empty plates/mug without saying a word or asking if we wanted another beer. I told my waitress we would like our bill cut half and half and she just walked away. Our bill ended up not being half and half.

I really enjoy this place! I come here and play pull tabs, billards, and darts. I love the cheese curds and enjoy beer, crown and cokes, and screw ups. Staff has been friendly and seems like customers are always having fun.

Great pizza but I can’t remember the prices. I have to use more words to post this so here I go. Great pizza. Great pizza. Great pizza.

Nice place to have a beer lunch or dinner. Staff was friendly and kind. Prices are normal. All and all good experience being new to town.

Came into this place on accident and have been going back for 3 years. Love the bingo on Tuesdays, decent priced drinks, and good food selection. My only complaint is that in the past year I’ve notice the service has started to decline. All the waitresses are friendly but it can a while to get waited on, or for someone to come up and take your order.

This is a regular stop in Hopkins since the other«divey» bar, Hopkins Tavern, closed a few months ago. I really want to love this place, the décor inside is neat and cozy! Unfortunately, Mainstreet never fails to disappoint. Service is consistently inattentive/rude and half the time I’m charged for drinks that I did not order. The most frustrating part, is the $ 5 – 10 required cover on Fridays or Saturdays after 8PM. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been craving a drink, but headed down the street to the bowling alley to avoid the cover. Main Street occasionally has good bands, but the same bands play at other venues around the TC for free.

The front door staff was both rude and unreasonable. The manager was surprisingly unprofessional. The waitstaff was pleasant and the food was a notch above typical bar food. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. I’ve been here several times and while it’s a fun time and great people watching I can’t recommend it to others based on our experience there tonight. I won’t be returning.

Had to wait over 15 minutes to get a beer. Fortunately, this place has great food. Decent service, kind of took a while to get my food but otherwise worth the wait.

We were impressed. For years we have seen the TV ads, but they do not do the place justice. It is a fun bar with three large areas. We are sports fans and without a doubt the largest, best positioned screens anywhere. The server Daniel was exceptional. It was like he had radar ears. He knew when to stop and even when were were about to leave as he was rushing around, he said, Ill have your check ready in a moment. And it was! Music was excellent. 1990-early 2000 rock. Crowd was diverse from mid twenties to older couples and everything in between. Gay straight, it is all good. The food was excellent. We had the Appetizer sample platter with wings, mozz sticks, loaded baked potatoes and more. Standard bar food. We shared the mainstreet juicy lucy with criss cross fries. Its no Matts juicy lucy but it was good. It disappeared fast! The waffle fries were awesome. We had a wonderful time. There was bingo going on if you wanted to play. The bingo announcer could tone it down a bit. Just call the numbers. It is not comedy bingo calling… unless it is, then my bad. Parking plentiful in free public lots or on the street. Staff very friendly. We will be back.

Ok place. They need to step up their evening servers. BUT Chris is awesome! If you could clone him, this place would be 5 stars no doubt. He doesn’t invade your space, and you leave feeling like you want to return. Sunday brunch is good– and their bartenders are friendly, which means a lot!

We had the bacon wrapped hotdogs and the eggs Benedict, unfortunately, when I tried the second egg I kept tasting something burned, finally deconstructed it and the bottom side of the meat was totally burned! But the waitress offered to get me a new one so we shall see! I want to give a big shout out to Jim the new cook! They made me a new eggs Benedict and threw another side of hash browns for me to make up for the burned ham! The eggs were everything I’d hoped for, covered in yummy hollandaise and when I tapped on the yolk it poured all over! YES

5 stars is for what it is, a local bar to watch sports and bands. My wife and I had a $ 25 voucher from Living Social so we traversed the snowy highway up to Mainstreet. We sat down at a high top and watched the Gophers get beat by Ohio. Our waiter was awesome! I ordered a Leinenkuegal IPL to start off while we perused the menu. I went for a Buffalo chicken sandwich and a side salad substitute with light ranch dressing. The salad came out and it was a magnigicent side salad. Onion, croutons, tomatos, fresh lettuce all the accouterments. Not bad for two bucks. The sandwich was very surprising, it tasted like they did it on a backyard grill. Toasted wheat bun and everything about it was perfect. juicy chicken sandwich bites dunked into a soup of fresh blue cheese dressing. Just awesome! On Saturdays they have a $ 2.50 bloody mary, so I tried that. Very solid, but i added a bunch of Tobasco to it, because it had no heat at all, but the pickle spear and olive were nice garnish. I finished off with a Surly Furious. They have 36 beers on tap. I likey. For a neighborhood bar, it had a solid draft list, amazing bar food, and our server was fantastic, so I have to go 5 stars.

I sing karaōke here on Wednesdays and always have fun! I like the laid back atmosphere and snarky staff. Their menu is good — Try their Monte Cristo, it is a Hopkins legend!

First time coming in today. Coworkers and I actually went with the intention of going to Curry ‘n’ Noodles around the corner, and didn’t know that they’ve closed in the last month! So we stopped into Mainstreet Bar & Grill. I liked the décor(cool neon tube lit signs) but the air conditioning was very loud where we sat in the back corner. I had the Philly Style sandwich and the beef was really delicious and tender, which was surprising for how thick the cuts are. I would have it again if I ever go back. It otherwise didn’t have too much flavor without the au-jus; if you’re not into dipping that, the sandwich by itself may not be your thing. My only concern is this place isn’t very quick if you’re on a time crunch for lunch. With work 5 minutes away, we ultimately only had about 10 minutes to eat before we had to leave to head back from an hour lunch. If you have more time to enjoy the food than we did, then the place is okay.

Great cozy ambiance and nice draft beer selection. Best burgers on Mainstreet. I’d venture to say they have the best bar food in Hopkins and the beer prices are extremely reasonable. Great happy hour!

Nice little small town bar and grill right on the main street. Needed to grab some breakfast and the hair of the dawg was howlin’ and we noticed a little sign out front advertising breakfast and 2.50 bloody Mary’s and screwdrivers. That is what I’m talking about! Drug our tired tails inside on a Saturday morning and ordered up some eggs, crispy bacon, and toast. It was all prepared well and affordable. My screwdriver was dang tasty and on the strong side which is always appreciated! Good place to wake up after a night out.

Mainstreet Bar & Grill is located on Mainstreet in Hopkins. Parking on Mainstreet in Hopkins can be a pain in the rump. Thankfully there is a parking ramp nearby and a lot in back. This is a great dive bar. Mainstreet always has super fun bands, staples like Pop Rocks and Brat Pack Radio or even Zed Lepplin. Modest cover charges on nights with live entertainment make coming here even more fun(more money for booze). Arrive early if you want to have a table/booth for your group, it will fill up fast on nights with popular bands, arrive at least a half hour before start time. Drinks are priced about the same as other places in the area, nothing fancy here. Food is about the same, classic bar food. Definitely have the tater-tots. I highly recommend holding your bladder at all costs, the bathrooms leave something to be desired. If you choose to wear your party pants, and have no choice but to use the facilities, make sure you wash your hands a couple extra times(just to be safe). If you get bored with the band, or are there before the live entertainment, there is a game room with things to keep you entertained, like darts, and pull-tabs. That sweet, sweet cardboard crack always keeps me occupied when in a pinch. Big plus for this dive bar, they take Discover Card and they are always willing to split up your check, most of the time without asking. Always remember party people: Be responsible and plan for a designated driver.

It’s a little divey but I do like Mainstreet Bar and Grill. It has a great layout with a game room, main bar, and live music area with a spacious dance floor. Great tap beer selection, cheap food and drinks, and a solid live band lineup. You can make this«your place» because of the variety it offers.

OK, first off I didn’t eat here and usually the food is what it’s all about. I mean it’s Unilocal and how can you rate a place on the Beer, the service, the ambiance or anything like that without trying the food. I guess the reason for this is I may have eaten here years and years ago but either time and or too many beers at the time prevent me from remembering the food! This was a quick stop for a couple of beers and bloody mary’s. Now being a meat eater I refuse to drink the blood of perfectly free vegetables so I was the one drinking the beer. The Bloody Mary’s looked very good though and the beers were nice and cold as most beers are. The service was great with a friendly smile from a cute bartender. This place gets bonus point and a review period for the look and feel of the interior. They have a big open bar and the food looked very good. Love the brick and stone walls and the way they have the kitchen placed in a odd spot screams dive bar, in a good way! I’ll be back soon for a burger, some fries and a couple of range free beers! KT
