So two days before christmas I needed some curing salt, 1 tsp. I ran out in the middle of my recipe. I called East Fishkill Provisions. I know they use it for curing meats. I ask if I could buy a small amount of curing salt. Now remember I only need 1 tsp. I was told they only buy in bulk and could not«sell» me 1 tsp of curing salt. I ask if you can give it to me as not to be a sale and I was told«NO» go to Amazon they have it. I did do shopping there with many lunch sandwiches also. BUT will never return again, thanks EastFishkill Provisions for the NOSALT. Such a community minded store two days before Christmas, bah humbug.

Good bologna, turkey, and tuna salad. Bread could be better though!

I’M GOINGTOHELPYOUGETTHRUTHISMAZEFORLUNCH. DON’T LOOKATTHESPECIALS, ORANYTHINGELSE . Just go to the back meat case for the real winners. The House made Roast Turkey for you(unfortunately they don’t serve them warm after roasting) I like my turkey sandwich with a lot of black pepper, tomato and mayo. The house made Large Bologna for the kids. They have bad hero bread, so if you have time, go to Mario the baker in Hopewell, grab a few fresh Bastone bread’s, stuff them with the cold cuts, and have a picnic at the East Fishkill Park, sitting near the river!(NICE)

a great informal spot for lunch. terrific bratwurst and sauerkraut, and their smoked turkey is also terrific. large sandwiches and very reasonable prices for what you get. self serve. everything we have had here is very good and the staff and owner are wonderful. have been coming here for a few years and thought it time for me to tell others how I feel. fairly crowded at noon. many local workers stop here for lunch.

This is an excellent family run operation. So fresh, so friendly, you will love it. My favorites are chicken rancher, corned beef reuben and gyros on Fridays. They also have great custard ice cream in season. I have them cater every time I have a party, and guests love it.

Love the Smoke Haus! I’m a big fan of their pulled pork especially! Their ice cream isn’t bad either, great place to take the kids after those baseball and softball games

I haven’t had too many things on the menu at the Smokehouse. My husband and I usually go here for a breakfast sandwich. The sausage, egg and cheese is pretty good. There have been a few times where it seems like the sandwich was just thrown together. Once, I actually got the end of the sausage, I’m guessing, because there was just a large round chunk under the bread. The coffee at this place is pretty terrible. I’m not a coffee snob or anything and even I find it hard to stomach. If you go to their Route 52 location, make sure you have time to spare. It takes FOREVER for them to make a breakfast sandwich. The hot dogs are good!

EFK provisions, the smokehouse, or the German Deli is my favorite. I started working in Fishkill in 2001 and was turned on to the smokehouse by some coworkers. I loved it and have been going back 1 to 3 times a week for lunch, and breakfast ever since. They smoke all of their meats on premises and it is delicious. Most of the deli’s in NY carry the mass produce Boar’s Head brand. You can definitely taste the care put into the meat preparations. George is the owner and a great guy who really does a lot for the community and his customers. The staff is very friendly and on first name basis with a lot of regular customers. Being a regular myself I notice this place has a lot of regulars. They also serve some old school German stuff that I am afraid to try. Head cheese and blood sausage for example. Local hunters can bring in there fresh killed meats for smoking, but not at lunch because it gets very busy. They also sell holiday meats. Smoked ham, smoked turkey, and corned beef for st patty’s. I love smoked turkey and have purchased my thanksgiving bird hear for the last 4 years. They get fresh killed Jendl turkeys from PA and I can pick mine up smoked on the Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It is awesome. They have two locations, the old and the new. I believe all of the Smoking is done at the old one located on rte 52. The new one off of rte 82 is bigger and has classic car shows on Monday nights during the summer. If you stop into the original, the one I frequent, tell them Ben sent ya. If you see a big bald guy in there his name is Jeff, tell him the Patriots Suck. My only dislike of the place is the coffee. They will give you a free cup with your breakfast, but it is not great coffee. Although I do drink it.

It’s kind of expensive for my taste but I always loved the baby-sitter taking us to the old one a long time ago for Cyclones. Also, their BEC’s are where it’s at. Delicious. Whenever we go on a road trip, we always stop at Stewart’s for coffee and gas and then here to grab breakfast. Mmmm.
