Really good spaghetti and meatballs. My friend had the sausage peppers and onions with spaghetti and she really liked hers too. The reason for only 4 stars is the sauce seemed just a tad too salty. But other than that it was delicious:) will be coming back:)

I really like Salvatore’s. The pizza is pretty great. It’s NY style and being a NY native it makes me happy to have them right down the road. Is it the best pizza I’ve ever had. No. But it’s by far the best pizza in Hoover. The drive-thru is a great touch especially when you have small children. We’ve also eaten at the restaurant both inside and out. It’s an order at the counter and then gets brought to your table kinda if place. Nothing fancy. If the weather is nice I recommend eating outside. I don’t know what it is about kids and fountains but mine are daily easily entertained long enough for the food to be brought out.

The sausage, onions and peppers spaghetti was ok. I thought the sausage would be cut up, not whole like a piece of human waste. That totally turned me off and I couldn’t finish it. The next day I decided to order the pizza– just a 14 inch pepperoni and cheese. Great pizza! Very cheesy and fresh. The Italian seasoning sprinkled on top gave it a nice touch. Want to order again with different toppings. Heated it in the microwave the next day and was just as tasty.

This really has to be one of the worst calzones I’ve had in my life. I’ve read the Unilocal reviews and didn’t expect it to be great, but this was just so bad that I wish I stayed hungry instead. — ALLBREAD. Seriously, their pepperoni calzone had barely any pepperoni any it. It was just a bunch of bread. — NOTTASTY. It started with bad dough. It seemed like the consistency of it was just not done right, it was complete opposite of fluffy and tasted like rubber, texture wise. The calzone itself was loaded with ricotta cheese instead of mozzarella. It kept on falling out and made the rubbery dough taste like you are chewing on a BF Goodrich tire. Note, I am not saying Michelin tire, because even that would have tasted better than this calzone. — QUESTIONABLECLEANLINESS. I noticed that none of the cooks were wearing gloves. — NICEPATIO — this is the only element this restaurant had going for it. Their patio area is pretty nice, separated by the bushes from highway 31 and has a fountain. Just keep in mind, if it’s windy, the fountain will sprinkle water in you if you are sitting next to it.

Love this pizza!!! We go here every time we are in Birmingham. Lacks one star for cleanliness. Very crowded always but this location last some TLC.

Bad pizza and even worse management. From now on I will get my pizzas from Vecchia in Hoover, Post Office Pies in Avondale, or Alfredo’s in Homewood. These places have better pizza and try hard at customer service. I went to Salvatore’s on a Sunday afternoon for a slice and was served what appeared to be day old pizza. The cheese had that translucent appearance that it gets when it has been reheated to many times and the sauce was dry and crusty. I brought this to the attention of the owner and her first response was to tell me I had already eaten half the slice so she would not refund my money. I had not even asked for a refund. She proudly admitted to serving me day old pizza and said that’s how she does it and she wouldn’t change it for me. Then she proceeded to tell me how much money she makes off pizza and that I was the only one to complain. I have never been treated this poorly in my life. The pizza at Salvatore’s used to be the best in town but they have been in a steady decline for the last four years. With so many new better options who needs them.

Always a favorite with our family! We love the pizza rolls but I haven’t had anything that hasn’t been great. It was too cold to sit outside today but love their patio area. It is a counter service restaurant but consistently good.

I have no idea how this place has such a low rating! While it is counter service, I have always been treated very nicely and been fully helped by the staff. I love the calzones! Easily one of the best in Birmingham. I normally get the Salvatore Special. The house dressing is awesome too. I hit this place up about three or four times a year. I think it is great.

I ordered Lasagna and a side salad. It was the worst Lasagna I have ever had. A liquid substance that you have to sift thru to find any sign of noodles, beef or cheese. Unappetizing visibly and uneatable :-(

Salvatore’s is located in a strip mall along Hwy 280. It has the standard Italian fast food menu you would expect. There are some exceptions like Eggplant Pasta. Pros: Looks good on the inside and the outside. Not fancy, but has the red and white checkerboard table clothes that let you know it ain’t pizza hut. There are a few tables outside to sit to enjoy your food and they will bring it out to you. I really liked the big salad which came prepackaged in a plastic container, but was crisp and cheesy. They WiFi, but it is password protected. Cons: Pizza very greasy. Pasta was overcooked and mush. When I went there were two teenage boys working, one in front one in the kitchen. The one in the front was polite was very indifferent, but not rude. I had to ask for dressing for my salad and utensils with my to go order. The bottom line: If you ate anything on the menu and someone told you it was frozen you would not be surprised.
